Had the chance to pick this set up tonight locally. I'll try to get some comparison pics done tomorrow with the the series one versions.

My first impressions of this set are good. They do feel like they are made from better plastic than the originals, and the fleshtone plastic looks far better than the painted skin of the originals. The only negative I see are the eyes are not painted the best (all the ones I saw at the store had at eye issues). I will try to touch them up tomorrow. I will say that the eyes are not nearly as bad as they were with the original releases. Do watch the paint on these. One set had Hudson's name printed way off center on the armor. Another big difference I see is the material used for the straps on the accessories. It is very flexible and almost gummy feeling. I may try replacing them like I did with Ripley's weapons.

I's say overall these are a vast improvement and if you missed the originals than this set is for you.

I managed to get this online for less than a NECA figure costs at Australian retail. I'm sick of the Arkham series looks for this character but this was too nice a figure to pass up.

I pre-ordered mine as soon as I could (I got it before any of my local stores did) and while a few joints were stiff out of the box it has some of or among the best quality of all their DC "exclusive" figures. In any case it looks freaking amazing. When I say exclusive I mean any of their 7" figures that can't be released under normal circumstances, these figures notably have inferior QC compared to most NECA items keeping in mind NECA is no champion of QC. I theorize that the natur of these figures' release means they have rushed production dates and that's what leads to crummier QC.

I have a handful of Aliens, a handfull of Terminator figures, about 15 Predators and I customized 2 of the 8-bit Batman figures before the screen accurate ones were announced. The only problems I've had with Neca have been with the Chris Reeve Superman, Ledger Joker and the Arkham Harley. What you said about the rushed production on those seems likely.
