The way I did it...wrap the figure in a towel or place it in a baggie. Then place him in a vice at shoulder level and slowly squeeze or twist it (depending on the type of vice you have) until it pops open. The pieces inside will fly all over so that's why you want to use a baggie or wrap him up. Also, be careful not to use too much pressure because you can crack the figure or flatten the shoulders.

I love those HB2 figures more than any other 3.75s. I wish they'd made more.
