I don't really agree with this practice. I'm not saying it's terrible but it's not all that cool at the same time.

I put a lot of effort into collecting these guys but I have never hidden a figure in hopes to retrieve it or them at some later date. However, I do look a bit to see if anythings been hidden sometimes. But I know that some people who do this are crazy about it. Hiding things they already have thinking maybe they'll want another one later only to forget about it. My cousin use to do this crap all the time. He got busted once trying to hide some MOTU figs in the clothing section.

But really Do Boy..? Left your wallet at home or in the car... Would the car be in the Toys R Us parking lot. If so, couldn't you get it somewhat easily?

And why do people leave their wallets at home? I never leave my wallet at home. Shouldn't forgetting your wallet be your problem and not the guy who comes in behind you.

I say it's reasonable to hide if it's a chance encounter, or they had a lot of stuff and you only had so much cash on hand that you go home but come back that day to grab it up.

Toys don't last that long in my area. I can seriously come back an hour later and it will be gone. I'm not even kidding you. I have left a Doctor Strange the first time I saw him. and realize I had forgotten my wallet. Went back home to go get it and came back and he was gone. This has happened to me on MANY occasions. Houston toy collecting is no joke. I have at least 8 friends that also collect. And come on, you are telling me you have never forgotten your wallet???

bmorr 09-14-2011 08:41 AM

yeah hiding things kinda ups the ante for the "toy hunt". Its ruins it for other collectors and yes it seems kinda dickish, but I dont wanna come in here judging people cause thatd just cause a slippery slope in this awesome thread. Thisll be the last time i bring this up, but, if your on a toy hunt and dont have the money for an eight dollar toy, you need to reassess your budget or simply plan before hand coming to the store and bring like 50 bucks with you just in case.

Ok, I guess I can understand hiding it if you don't have the money at all. But In my case It's because I don't have it right there and then. I have it it's just some where else. lol. Like I had mention. I don't do it every time. I always buy what I want there and then. I just don't alway remember my wallet. I don't leave my wallet in my pockets like most people. It bothers me.

I've only forgotten my wallet a handful of times in my life. I can't recall a time I scored somewhere and realized I had forgotten my wallet. So try and hold onto your wallet man. Sounds like it could save you some time and gas money.

But so long as you come back an hour or so later I can't complain about that. if I were to forget my wallet I would probable stash the fig or figs and return with some cash just as quick as i could.

But you know some people just hide shit to hide it. Don't be that guy. Nobody likes that guy...

Time yes. Gas no. Company Car and Gas card :D

Oh I know. I just never assumed there were people out there That just hide stuff because they couldn't afford it. I just assumed it was done because they need to come back right away. I guess because that's why I did it.

I've done this exactly twice... one of those times was just about three weeks ago when I stopped a TRU on my lunch break, walked up to cashier, and realized I left my wallet in my desk at work. I went back the very next day and got the figure I stashed. Forgetting my wallet was my problem,.. so I fixed it.

Nexodusrex 09-14-2011 09:31 AM

I just picked up what I think is the single rarest MU
Its the varient upside down Scarlet Spider....but it dosent have its stand!
dosent even have the plastic that would hold this stand. Its a Factory Error Obviously but it looks pretty bad ass cause its Scarlet Spider upside down with no clunky stand obstructing the view of spider against card art. Like he's suspended with nothing holding him. I'll get pictures when I get home.

afgoosett 09-14-2011 09:32 AM

I've hidden figures before. My area is really bad about scalping you can tell when they get a new revision case because there will be a WWHULK and an Iron man 2020 with a Silver Surfer or Moon Knight and that'll be it and the peg's will be all crooked and shit and you can tell those sheep fucking arse pounding scalpers have had their way with the MU selection. So yeah if I see something that catches my eye like a new figure or figures and for some reason I don't have my debit card with me fuck yes I get that shit and take it a few aisles over and hide it. BUT I do come back and get it that same day..

..is that the Spidy line "legends size" Venom over to the left there? I've been trying not to but that all summer (I dont collect that size), but I'm getting weak. Almost bought him last week.

Thanks and yeah its the Mac Gargan Venom from the 6" spidey line, im not a big fan of that scale unless its a monster movie figure but I like my venom huge lol.

Thanks man and I didnt even think of that I had him in my hands and just thought "huh let me put these extra figures in his." I was going to make a cosmic spider-man out of that one in his right hand but im laggin on it lol

Oh on a side note when I did my mini reveiew on Namor......I was wrong...He has a completly new body then the SDCC mold....Pick him up.....Great figure....Has all the new articulation like all the new bucks...
