Kamal kahn - last spidey wave
Iron fist - strange wave
Death's head II - newst GOTG wave
sam alexander nova - 2 waves ago GOTG

My opinion none of these characters should have been in these waves, however they put them in it just to make that figure. they couldn't put them in their own waves. so i guess it makes sense.

Gwenpool is no longer a "hot" character, the hype is done and gone. however yes i agree she's a wasted slot for a better character, but i guess they know what their doing. some people will want her.

To be fair deathshead is really the only " obscure character " since the others are either new characters that have been mainlined ( kaaaaahhhhhhnnn and kod nova ) or have long established history in the marvel verse ( iron fist ) wheras gwen pool yah was hot for a bit but i agree with kain that cloak, dagger, silver mane etc should be included in the spot...but she'll at least serve a purpose as custom fodder. ;)

I quite appreciate getting this version, although I would still pay for the classic (updated) version.

I decided to experiment with the Magus head on my extra Strange body.
Let me know if you think this works please.
(and don't mind the basic photo-skills)

Pretty cool!

Not sure how Death's Head II is even obscure when even I know about him. Hell, I owned a few of his issues. Although, it's coming back to me now and I realize his gun hand is way too... big. It wasn't that extreme looking even in the 90s.

The glider Hobgoblin comes with is Kingsley's glider, but you would have thought due to the torn cape and the alternate demon Macendale head they would have given him the Macendale glider.

Nevertheless, honestly, there has never been a perfect glider. I really want to a glider that lets me pose my figure like this while on it:

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...804ab95339.jpg

I just think that pose looks really badass and terrifying.

You're not going to want to hear this...but nearly all of the Toybiz gliders allowed you to do that. Just saying.

I hear ya though. The gliders that came with the both of them were pretty wimpy and pathetic. Since Demo-Goblin tends to ride a glider made of fire though...this is the perfect opportunity for...wait for it...

A BAF FIRE GLIDER! And why not...worked for those Vulture wings right?

God I fear what we have enabled Hasbro to start doing with their BAFS...

It's most likely selling for crazy prices because it was the one figure that wasn't available to order when the rest of the wave leaked onto Amazon. Most people were able to snag up every character, including Moon Knight, but the one figure they weren't was web wings Spidey. Now people need him to complete their Vulture wings, and scalpers realize this, so of course, the premium to getting him is going to be just that much higher.

There's also a Pizza Spidey type of craze to it. While I don't have the figure in hand, it has a lot of things going for it that the Civil War Spidey didn't, making it the best MCU version of the character until at least the Iron Man 2 pack comes out.

Well long time marvel fans may know him but your general modern day fan likely doesn't thus the obscurity. We're kinda biased here as it seems many of us have deep knowledge of the characters even obscure ones, whereas casual readers likely don't.

Don't get me wrong im tickled blood red he got a release as I enjoyed his character(s) through the years and to see any version get a legends release is a definite gift. I just get the ire of a character who really is outta ballpark getting a release over a character who woulda been better suited.

Can't say that I would say that Iron Fist is obscure.

She's teamed up with Miles.

Besides, none of those characters are still Spider-Man characters, and if teaming up with Spidey is all it takes to earn a spot in a Spidey wave, then really the entire Marvel Legends line is one giant Spider-Man wave.

Gwenpool is someone Hasbro wants out soon so to strike while the iron's hot. As for the others, being completely honest Gwen Stacy's a possibility, and I'd be down with a Robbie, Betty, Ben Urich and Glory to hang out in a big Daily Bugle setting, but I just don't think that'd be a big seller of a box set at SDCC, let alone anything but DOA at retail. These are supposed to be action figures first and foremost, after all.

Same thing goes with even Jameson, although I think we did get him. It was part of Chameleon's gimmick to include the extra heads, but just like with Captain Universe in the new wave that was Hasbro's way of giving us the character.

He hasn't been featured in the comics for like twenty years, he's a fringe character even among the lesser known cosmic characters, making him a bit of an unknown. Plus I think the original version of Death's Head tends to be more fondly remembered especially with Marvel UK Transformers fans.

Before Green Goblin came out I was fine with it because I just figured a larger glider would drive up costs but Hasbro clearly demonstrated otherwise.

I just meant the figures themselves. Having gliders is nice, but I couldnt care less about them, and most of my accessories go in ziplocks or bins...

See, the only thing I know about the original version is he was killed by the new one.

Well as killed as a robot can be, technically it was just his body that was destroyed since his mind lived on and even took over the body of Death's Head II. Eventually he returned in his own body and has continued to operate ever since. He has shown up in more recent times through SWORD, Iron Man, Spider-Man, etc., and then very recently in Nova. He's an intergalactic freelance peacekeeping agent (a bounty hunter really) so it's very easy to put him in different stories as a fun guest appearance with little explanation needed beyond he was hired to be there. Death's Head's greatest achievement comes from his long history of franchise-hopping which means that he has relevance to fans of multiple different licenses and not just Marvel comics. Death's Head II though seems to have stagnated and never really made any waves past the '90s, even then most people don't consider him an iconic Marvel character of that time. He did show up again in the late 2000s as a member of some British team (don't recall which right now) but that was fleeting and he wasn't the lead character or main draw of the book.

Augustus_Cole 06-03-2017 04:12 PM

does anyone have an extra:

1. Scarlet Witch - Allfather wave
2. Ultimate Venom - Rhino wave
3. Carnage - Ultimate Goblin wave

for sale or trade...loose is fine.

Robb 06-03-2017 05:37 PM

I think I have a moc S.Witch let me check.

once you have the figure in hand, you'll be glad you own it, it is a thing of beauty, and probably the largest ML figure to date (just based off how huge the wings are

Large because of the wings, but owning 4 parts of the wings I am unimpressed by them. They should have just included them with vulture since they are so cheap.

Charliegone 06-03-2017 06:06 PM

What we need is a freaking Silver Sable figure.

Maybe obscure isn't the correct word. More like an old character that has been sitting in the closet for a longtime. considering he was something big in the 90s with the whole Marvel U.K label. Last time he was in a comic was 2006. Im not knocking him because i'm a fan, however these characters aren't big enough to have their own waves.

At TRU saw 4 of the MJ/Spidey packs, evidently not very desired in my area since it was already late in the afternoon. I passed because I'm not fond of the Spidey's paint scheme and MJ isn't worth $40 on her own, she' well done except for the fist but I don't feel the need to have her in my collection. My Walmart has yet to bring out anything new except that last weekend they opened up yet another Dormammu wave.

MeLikeJinx 06-03-2017 10:15 PM

^ Gives me some hope to see MJ then if maybe 2nd/3rd shipments are beginning to last longer in some areas. For me MJ and Spidey unmasked head is worth 40 bucks... I mean... it's MJ.

Dr Kain 06-03-2017 10:17 PM

No Homecoming endcaps at all at my Walmart.

The unmasked Peter head does look really good and if MJ is a figure you want in your collection then it is worth it I suppose.

Same, just all of the kid toys and role-play items in the aisle with the other Hasbro Marvel stuff.
