Does anyone know how much the MU Skrull Giant Man goes for? I'm trying to sell mine loose. For that matter, anyone need him for their collection?

Depending on price I could do with one (if you will ship to the UK)

Shit. Now I want it again. This on-again off-again relationship with the super carrier is going to break my heart!

I wish the one I get would come in that giant awesome shipping box. I love 'sealed' stuff. Maybe if one of my fellow arkers is buying one from HTS and doesn't want that, they'll trade me for my SDCC un-white-boxed one? Lord, shipping the shipping box makes my head spin and my wallet beg for mercy...

kinda do want but yeah 130 price tag plus shipping is gonna be a killer. can't wait to see who gets one on here. would love to see some updated collections using the carrier as a shelf or even suspended from the ceiling with troopers rappelling down.

Hard to do if we keep it in the box, or in the box's box. ;)

What's funny is I have the SDCC Sent version, which is in my closet still sealed in it's package that I won't open, but I'm really hoping I have the chance to spend an extra $30 to get one that comes in a less desireable package just so I can have an open one.

..or I could open the one I own, that's doing me no good in my closet, for free.

Not quite for free, it would cost you what you paid for it, since you could probably get that back at this point by selling it. Anyone sell those opened?

Very nice find. I have one too but I hung it up on my wall. Its difficult to open the sdcc one because of the huge blister card he's on. At least for me.

Do you guys think maria hill will be the next over-priced mu figure? She'll probably join the ranks of solid vision, x force AA, and nick fury.

Peteparker 07-05-2012 01:21 PM

I wish I could say I thought so, but as someone else pointed out, in production, she's FUGLY.

proteus 07-05-2012 01:21 PM

Thanks for all the offers of Winter Soldiers guys,im pleased to say iv been hooked up by snailbot!! And whilst on the 'bay today i came across this,he has quite a selection of loose MU(some missing accs) but the prices are VERY cheap and shipping $1!!!

I ship to the UK.

Right now I'm asking for 35 USD flat with shipping included no matter where in the world you are. But I'm going by half the value of the MOC ebay listings since it's the only comparison I've got. But I also made it free shipping, and knocked it down about 5 dollars below 50% of their 80 USD listings.

So for you, that might actually be worth it. It'd make the figure like 20 USD and some change. While shipping to the UK will probably be int he 9-15 range.

They are only looking out for collectors that didn't get to make it to SDCC. I love BBTS as much as the next guy, but I don't see how anyone can possibly see this as BBTS simply trying to help people get these items.

I don't care when they mark up items they get directly from a vendor. That is business and I understand why they need to and have a right to. But when they make an effort to get exclusive items that they have buy from other retail locations and then sell them at a markup, that is scalping. Anyone with a brain can see that.

as for going to the con and why an SDCC goer has more of a right to get an exclusive. By definition, these are meant to be SDCC exclusives sold at the con. If you go to the con, you should be able to buy them because they were meant to be sold there to YOU. The intended purpose is not for them to be hoarded up by scalpers and sold to others that didn't go.

This is generally why cons have a so and so amount limit per customer. If that's in place and they can't just buy the con supply out. It's not scalping. Scalping is about cornering the market to make sure demand stays high. The limit hinders that and keeps it within confines that would match even a greedy collector.

How fair is a con exclusive if the first person in line buys 20? Take the helicarrier for instance. If someone in line wanted a fleet of those, you'd be just as screwed as BBTS buying however many for pre-orders. They are at the con, they have just as much right to buy those 20 helicarriers as you do your one while visiting the convention. This is why they generally have that limit of roughly 2 or 4 per customer. So it keeps both the amount of resellers and the amount of over-troop building in check to better meet the needs of those who like multiple and those who just at least want one.

That's why I had said before it falls into one of those areas of just assume everyone in line is buying the max they can get and hope for the best. That's the way items released of this nature are handled and the expectations around them anyway. It sucks, but it's a convention exclusive. It's going to be sought after and people are going to sell them to those that couldn't be at the con. Con exclusives by nature cannot be considered 'scalping' unless the scalper is cornering the market on them to artificially inflate the price(buy cheap online early, resell high online later).

Mass Retail items are another matter, but as long as they aren't cornering the market and making it impossible to find certain things it's not a big issue. Then again though really, a sale is a sale. And the more product moved for MU the better.

I disagree with your definition of scalping. Scalping has nothing to do with cornering or dominating a market. Scalping IS buying something with the intent to make a profit from selling it. That's it. Not sure where you are getting all those other extra requirements from.

as for the buying limits. I agree that nobody should be able to buy them all. Depending on production, the limit should be 1 or 2 per ticket holder. Everybody at the con that wants one, should be able to get one. If you are not at the con, then it sucks and it's not fair, but that is life. We don't have the right to everything we want.

Omg the mods already said to drop it and people r still posting about it. I come here to appreciate the MU awesomeness. If u want to voice your opinion then create a new thread. I love the ark but all this is forcing me to go somewhere new

Snowflakian 07-05-2012 02:39 PM

-Edited.

Whoops.

Anyway. So anyone have any luck finding the new MU waves in the states yet?

NoodleChow 07-05-2012 02:44 PM

Nope, nada yet. i really hope we get notifications from Smalljoes and BBTS when SDCC hits next week or the week after. also hoping Smalljoes ships first since I'd preordered with em :P

in the meantime, some MU love:

I agree! This is getting old. most of us have moved on long ago. But a couple of you just wont stop. Even after mods have said to let it go several times. PM one-another or move over to the thread thats been started.

As to moving on. I'm thinking of getting rid of some of my lesser favorite Mu figs.

Still thinking about it. So hard to let go...

Nobody really answered, because I asked during the scalping clusterfuck.

Is the new spidey and miles variant coming in the new wave? I've gotten confused with what's in which wave and coming when.

Yeah i remember that case hitting the targets here around xmas i think. It was a bitch to find electro. Theres a TRU that im going to tommorow that has a single Doc Samson. Been that way ever since the Comm. Rogers wave sold. So yeah, fall of last year was the last time ive seen a stocked TRU.

Ultimate Spidey and variant Miles Ult Spidey both in the upcoming Beast wave (Beast, Beta Ray Bill, Kraven, Ult Spidey, Hulk). Wave after that has the Future Foundation Spidey and variant Bag-Head Spidey. Usually we see the variants ship first and slowly the regular one ships. variant ends up being HTF after that.
