Both Spidermans are the star of the show. Both have beck hinges and the comic spidey is loaded with articulation.

The vulture figure is pretty disappointing with the hindered articulation

It's apparent that Hasbro has no interest in 1:18 anymore, in fact I don't even know why they bother at all. GI Joe was getting some awesome figures at the peak of MU and now they just repaint into oblivion. How'd they honor the 50'th anniversary of GI Joe??? Lame repaints. You can't even find GI Joe in most stores anymore, and that was a absolute staple of the 1:18 scale.

Honestly I just wish they'd be done and cancel the line. The one or two sort of decent figures we get a year don't even come close to making up for the heartbreak after heartbreak that they keep puking out.

If I had even had any inclination to collect Legends (6 inch) before, the utter disrespect that they've shown us 1:18 guys stamped that right out. I would have respected it more if they just canceled the line and said we're moving to six inch. Instead they lied to everyone saying "we're changing the name of the line to infinite but you'll still get all the same articulation you know and love." And then preceded to puke out turd after turd that aren't worth the plastic they're made out of.

We got a couple good figures out of infinite, but the abominations they keep producing in the legends line is embarrassing. Grab up all the fodder you can and get to customizing or comissioning if you want any more quality MU figures.

If you want 90's Storm, make one or get one made, you'd be disappointed with whatever crap plie they decide to try to heave upon you anyway.

yup the line got a lot of shit from a bunch of legends collectors, which was heavily unjustified but not all legends collectors hated the line.Dave vonner leaving hasbro also contributed to the troubles and he was the one who made the line possible to begin with.i think sales have also been an issue, legends has always had a solid fanbase right back to the toybiz days.also the lack of a voice at cons, legends collectors are more interactive with hasbro employees,i dont think ive seen 3.75" collectors at sdcc or nycc hammering hasbro with questions.ive definitely heard legends collectors ask questions about 3.75" though.

I found both of the 4" Spidey packs at Target today thanks to the help of Brickseek and fellow Arkers. I did have to do some comparing for both sets to get ones that I was happy with. The Shocker set was really just comparing minor paint details but with the Vulture set some of the Spider-Man's knees looked like he was late on a payment and Vulture let him know. They had a full case out I guess, 4 of the Vulture set and 2 of the Shocker.
I'll start with the movie set. Yay more MCU figures in this scale! The Spidey has pretty good articulation but his elbow hinges are kinda small which worried me a bit at first and then his knee connector pieces are gummy-feeling. These don't feel like major issues though, nothing ruining here. The paint is pretty on par for this size, some bleeding of red onto black or blue onto red but nothing damning. Vulture is the big draw of this set and while not accurate it's still a cool toy. His wings actually are pretty much the exact same size as Falcon's which is weird because they looked smaller in pics and even in the box. Also like Falcon's wings they have the feature where you can hinge one wing up and down and the other matches it.
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/a...psdnc4fwgi.jpg
So they aren't terribly small for the toy but compared to how big they are in the movie they're definitely not in scale. His head of course then isn't like the one in the movie at all but after messing around with him for a while it's still a neat head, but an accurate head would've been cooler. Pretty similar articulation to Spidey but no torso joint and overall not as much range. His paint is a lot cleaner though. Cool set.
Now on to the comic set. Shocker is just on the same under-articulated body as Living Laser (and others) so he can't strike too many cool shocking poses but he can do some stuff. The colors are all good but the application is a little lazy looking. The grid pattern is off on some parts or just incomplete at other sections. Honestly though given the size it's a good job. Best for last though, this is the comic Spidey we've been waiting for. His colors are the right red and blue, his paint apps are for the most part clean, and he's on the body that made this line's articulation awesome. Overall this Spidey is awesome and sells this set on his own with the Shocker just feeling like a welcome bonus since he hasn't been in this line before. Again, cool set.

Thanks for that review and the comparison pics en sabah! im surprised to see the vulture wings are the same size as falcons.and im looking forward to adding another 3 spideys to my "council of spideys" set up :)

Kinda wish I invested into the Marvel Universe Exclusive Tobey Spidey since I got the Andrew Spiderman as well

Me too. There was a reasonable window of time when he was obtainable for a decent price but I never jumped. It seemed like he was right before the trend where the cool exclusives are automatically jacked up in price right away.

Looking forward to getting the new Shocker! Although I found a seller with several of the original Shockers at $9 each on Taoboa, I am going with this version. Also it will be nice to get a definitive HASBRO version of a 23 POA Spider-Man.

23 Points of articulation for Spidey and I believe (I didn't recount like a politician) the Bishop buck has 13 POA. That is about 85% more articulation. (I hope Mr. West here is proud I paid attention in math class) That is a huge, if not unacceptable percentage of articulation decline.

@D Day....well said mate. Always love seeing your custom collection, as I've said a hundred times-best custom collection in the world! In fact, it was you that inspired me to collect at least one custom figure from every customizer I can. A commission is fun. To a thread of your stuff.... I know you come up with recipes for Marvel 3.75" like Gordon Ramsay does for food!

Oh my goodness, that comic Spidey is looking SOOOOOOOO good! This is probably the first time that I'll have to replace a figure in my main display, but hey, my TASM ultra poseable figure has had a good run.

Btw, does that belt logo on Shocker mean that he's got a new body sculpt? Or would this more considered a slight retooling of a pre-existing mold?

Il Cattivo 05-05-2017 12:21 AM

^could be just a separate piece glued on.

that tasm spidey-while its a great figure-always stuck out like a sore thumb to me on my mcu display (damn ocd). man I can't wait to finally replace him.

it may be built into the mould like jubilees belt.

Universe 05-05-2017 03:21 AM

The new comic Spidery is excellent and may become my definitive display Spiderman too. My only gripe is the overall height and bulk of him on that buck.

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c9...psoedqexjv.jpg

Shocker's belt emblem is probably glued on (albeit glued perfectly) because the mold is identical to other modern "legend" bucks. The arms are definitely unique.

Why are the new figures 1/15th scale???

He looks both amazing and ridiculous at the same time.

Pilkster 05-05-2017 04:20 AM

Awesome poctures as usual universe! God i miss your set up pics

Universe 05-05-2017 04:37 AM

Thank you Pilkster! I'm working on a new toy room configuration, a lot of stuff still boxed up right now.

Il Cattivo 05-05-2017 04:42 AM

looks like spidey's been hanging out with chris hemsworth.

Bluenope 05-05-2017 07:15 AM

For you creative types out there, Shocker's belt emblem would be perfect on a Hawkeye for his time with the Thunderbolt's back in the '90's

Thanks for the kind words brother. I keep building up my collection bit by bit, and at this point I've spent thousands of dollars on it, but when I walk into my display room and see all those beautiful works of art on my shelf it makes it all worth it.

I do in fact come up with most all of the recipes. Honestly That's what pisses me off so much about hasbro. They laid some excellent groundwork and could have continued to make some amazing figures for us with the base figures in their arsenal.

I know some of you guys are saying the new Shocker figure is cool, and I can't really wrap my head around it. Y'all sound like battered wives "Hasbro still loves me!"

Snap out of it my dudes!!! Hasbro doesn't love us anymore, that Shocker looks as cool as Mary Poppins. They're just stringing us along trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of low quality work.

Why make what they did, when they could have easily made this.

Eh, I like to think that we're just making the best out of a fairly crappy situation. I mean, sure, that Shocker isn't super poseable, but how many poses are you really gonna be doing with Shocker? With him, the lack of wrist articulation makes sense, since if you're gonna pose him, it's gonna be with both arms forward for a blast.

Thanks for the compliment brother.

I basically stick to instagram lately, but I can do a pic dump here since it's been quite a while since I have.
