Can't remember, skimmed through it lol. The makeup on RS was pretty cool if memory serves.

He kinda looked like a red skinned version of Jigsaw...or an overipe and very rotten strawberry. Of course, it didn't get any better, as he only ends up looking like a living wax doll of Ronald Reagan later on in the film.

If there was ever one look Marvel NAILED, it was Hugo Weaving's Red Skull...still the best adaptation look wise of any of the MCU's characters in my book. I wish we would have received a Legends version of it, as the 3.75" figure bore a pretty amazing likeness and still has me really wanting an upscaled one, even after all of these years..

If I remember correctly, those ears were actually fake ones. I think there was some difficulty of some kind in making a cowl that would actually let the ears be out, so they had to just make a cowl with no earholes and fake ears on the outside.

FUCK ME I looked it up, I don't know what I was remembering the makeup was awful.

I thought Hugo's look was decent, it could have been more detailed IMO.

While I had hoped to have a dozen or so to pick from, like when I snagged Namor, they only had two, but luckily, they both looked great, so I didn't have to pass and wait for a good one. Honestly, lol, my patience and resolve could not have handled the letdown of finding a sub-par Invisible Woman.

But anyways, for us Fantastic Four fans, this figure is a game changer.
Aside from a few exceptions, the earlier Fantastic Four Legends are seriously disappointing. The Toy Biz stuff has aged horribly, and Hasbro's previous attempts were laughable. But, this Sue in just such a great figure !
And, at a time when there is no F4 merch to be found anywhere, and, most importantly, Marvel isn't even giving us any Fantastic Four comics, this is huge ! HUGE !

I'm ecstatic to finally have her, and I'm relieved that I can stop hating everyone who found her before me :D

LOL. I felt the same way about finding the new Rogue... she game changed my little ML X-men collection too... such a great fig. IMO your lucky the Walgreen site was accurate... that site never works for me... mine said it had 8 Punishers for the longest time, but pretty sure my entire state didn't get any Punishers at all. LOL.

Also like nobody ever mentions the robot thing she comes with... guess he's not important. LOL.

Dr Kain 06-05-2017 11:28 PM

lol Meanwhile, I keep forgetting to go to Walgreens whenever I'm out.

Hit the mecca of disappointment yesterday (my TRU.) No Groot no Mary Jane/Spider-Man and no empty spaces where they should be either. I don't know why I even bother. I will be planning to pick up Dark Phoenix/Cyclops and the A-Force set online because it appears those managing inventory for my TRU just do not have knowledge of exclusives, or perhaps do not care.

I wish I wanted that Mary Jane more so I would pull the trigger on the amazon pack - it's $70. but I just can't that's almost double the price of retail and with the other figure being yet another Spider-Man....o_O

I know how you feel. My local TRU is a major disappointment of a store, also. My store never got the Groot exclusive, and just put out a fresh case of Dr. Strange... Despite it's misgivings, it did get the Mj&Spidey set. Did you check near the front of the store or on the endcaps? I almost left the store empty handed because the set was not on the Legends row, but instead on a Spider-man Homecoming endcap near the birthday and trading cards.

Oh yeah, I looked over there too. Absolutely nothing, but they did throw some GOTG2 wave 1 in the Spider-Man section in the front...for variety I guess.

To make it clear I'm not faulting the standard employees of this TRU. They can only put items on the shelves if they have them. But there's a problem with whoever orders items - not sure if that's store or district level. This TRU has always had an issue with their exclusives. Now, regular figures - it's still no picnic but not quite as bad. I just wonder if whoever is supposed to order them just feels they are not worth the time? What's maddening about it of course is, you cannot get these anywhere else except online. So it's really a losing situation for the customer. I would gladly give them my money if they would actually stock their exclusives...

Those runs are the most polarizing X-Men runs. Personally I loved the Morrison run, he fucked things right up. To this day they're still retconning things. I think they're finally hinting at the real Jean coming back to the pages this summer… but who knows.

has anyone seen a Phoenix/Cyclops set yet?

I liked Morrison's run until Planet X (I liked the first issue of that though).

Unless they put it out overnight, or it's hidden really well, the site is wrong. That's my mecca of disappointment store. I can't muster up the excitement to go check lol but I thank you none the less! :)

Very much so! I am off Friday so what I will do is check the site on Friday morning and mosey over there if it says they still have it, but I'm not going to go over there when I was there 14 hours ago, much of which time they were closed.

At this point, I'm not even sure this is a procurement/retail "buyer" problem (not sure if that's the term - I know that in media, a "buyer" buys ad-spots within broadcasting time slots of commercial television - I think the vernacular is similar in retail - maybe not). The deeper into this 'exclusive collecting game' we get, the more I believe the problem lies squarely with Hasbro. There was a time when I often opined about what the incentive could be for short shipping certain figures within cases. Wouldn't Hasbro want to provide for the demand of a particular fig and move more units? Then it dawned on me that, outside of it's own website, Hasbro makes it's money not specifically from me (the collector), but from box stores buying large numbers of their product at wholesale to sell to customers at a bump-up. Short shipping hot-commodities like rare figs brings in foot traffic to (dying) retail spaces. Obviously, stores want to sell the fig, but more foot traffic means more sales of the other things we tend to buy when we go searching in Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. Extrapolating this concept of 'cross-pollination' buying to 'exclusives' and specialty stores like TRU doesn't provide a direct correlation, but it does make sense on some levels. How many of us have gone to TRU to look for a Legends Exclusive, but left with a Neca (or other) fig to assuage our disappointment in not finding what we came for? In short, in my opinion, this process is one of meticulous and purposeful design. Retailers want these exclusives because they know we are desperate. We will search high and low. We will drive miles. We will come back multiple times in one week. And, most importantly, we will buy other things beside the toys we came in search of...

That's a very good point. I don't fit that mold for TRU exclusives - if they don't have what I'm looking for, I'm just walking out, as I tend to have "tunnel vision" for TRU. But for other stores I'm much more likely to pick up something I might need/want though it may not be collectibles. But I imagine I'm probably in the minority on that. If it is Hasbro I feel like they're shooting themselves in the foot - why go to the trouble of molding and producing these figures to sell at a standard retail price ($20 a figure basically) if they don't intend to distribute many of them, taking into account of course only to exclusive stores, not to everyone. If they were "rare" figures that would cost much more I can understand, more money for same production costs, but it just doesn't make sense. Not that you may not be right of course, it just a bit baffling to think they'd do that.

For what it's worth I do wish that there were no exclusives period.

Yeah, I agree with you. The employees on hand have always been great and willing to go above and beyond, but there's very little they can do when the product is just not there. I hope you find the MJ&Spidey pack soon, it's a fun little set and MJ has a ton of potential.

I remember some posters from Australia claiming to have found the sets at retail. That was a couple of weeks back now,so maybe sometime soon. Can't hardly wait for it, myself.:D

To be fair, I have seen the MJ 2 pack go for just a little above retail on EBay since it has become more readily available, with just MJ by herself going for an average of 25-30 dollars. Just depends on how badly you want it, and how stingy you are with "never a dime above retail" principals.

Yeah, the behavior baffles me also, but I think I'm starting to understand the method of the madness. I also wish they'd put an end to certain exclusives. Con exclusives still make sense to me...but not when the figs are introduced to subsequent 'mass release' lines.

Dr Kain 06-06-2017 12:26 PM

Yay, my MJ pack is out for deliver.
