Thanks in advance :)

*Supposedly* a good amount of them are done by gentle giant, which explains the way most of them have a single, cohesive style, much like the 4H with DCUC

Has anyone gotten Mantis's arms yet? are the gloves sculpted or painted?

Captain Nash 06-20-2017 05:50 AM

So of course now that I have the SP/MJ pack delivering Thursday what do I finally see at my MoD TRU last night? one pack. stealthily put behind 6 of the 3.75 inch CA: CW Falcon figures. I didn't pick it up, since I do have one coming, but naturally....

warmachine6 06-20-2017 08:06 AM

jayc tweeted that the The X-Men 2-pack is starting to hit TRU shelves now im guessing thats for us maybe?

Can anyone confirm with a stock code?

I went to my local Walgreens and they were loaded with old Spider-Man wave figures. I saw a Ben Riley Spidey and SpiderGwen. I'm really hoping to happen upon a Silk from the Space Venom wave.

Early Cuyler 06-20-2017 10:48 AM

So I heard a rumor for a Black Panther Wave. Panther, Iron Man, Namor, Black Bolt, White Tiger, someone else, and Thing BAF.

Still no Doom...

That sounds like a horrible Black Panther wave. The above line-up sounds more like Marvel's Illuminati with White Tiger and Thing tacked on for good measure. Hope it's just a rumor.

TheBlueMarvel 06-20-2017 11:28 AM

@Early

Cool gif, I actually remember that episode...

I'm pretty sure Hasbro is warming up to it. I'd say that the Walgreens exclusive Sue is likely being used to test the waters, but given that it is an 'exclusive,' analyzing sales metrics from a limited run seems counter-intuitive. Personally, I believe Hasbro's intention is to return to FF just as they have the X-men, regardless of how these test runs (upcoming Human Torch) preform, if that's what they are. We will all get the Doom we crave...it's inevitable.

They are sculpted. They did a lot of good work with her, and they hit it out of the park.

= me after i've been trying to pose\stand up action figure for over 30 minutes and they keep falling over.

TheBlueMarvel 06-20-2017 11:55 AM

@Dark

lol I admit that Mantis is tempting, but given that she never appeared in an outfit like that and would stand out like a sore thumb with my other D&A GotG figs, she's a pass...but not an easy pass (not to be confused with NY/NJ/CT transit :p) like the other two...

Nice BP pickup. I'm waiting on my third regular version. I'm taking advantage of the reduced prices. I nabbed this one for just $20 bucks! :D

Nothing, yet. But I've been kicking something around since I paired him and Storm. I had an eye toward when the Walgreens BP hit fever pitch, I expected the old one to drop and it has. The BP trailer also has me open to ideas...

Eh, to be fair, Black Panther DID debut in F4 so it's not totally out of nowhere....

Regardless I don't care how they release a new Thing figure, so long as we get one.

Harbinger 06-20-2017 01:38 PM

Always wondered of thing had to wear a metal condom since hes made outta jagged edged orange rock.

Seriously Hasbro, I was hoping Deadpool represented the turning point where these things would finally justify their price by including a number of accessories. Instead they remind us why these sit on shelves until stores are forced to clearance them out.

While he originated from the F4, the character has grown so much since then. It's strange that Black Panther has to share the spotlight with 3 other headlining Marvel Characters in his first actual wave of Marvel Legends. Classifying Iron Man, Namor, and Black Bolt under the Black Panther mantle seems weak and disingenuous to T'Challa and his supporting cast of characters.

I am pretty sure the elves in Santa's workshops sculpt them and put them together there before shipping them out. Is that not correct?

That is actually why some of them come with more accessories En Sabah. I believe it is in their union contract that they are allowed some down time. It is in those times that we get the characters like the Spiderman with fewer accessories. At least this is my understanding according to the local Reindeer Lodge Members.

To be fair though, if you were to ask the average person to name two of BP's supporting characters wothout naming MCU characters or popular characters with origins from elsewhere (such as Storm) you would be hard pressed. Even I couldn't answer this, and while I'm no expert, I'm also no spring chicken either.

And that's not a dig at Black Panther. It's simply the truth.

I'm sure Hasbro realizes this, hence the failure to go deep into his supporting cast. There is a reason that characters like Speed Demon, Female Beetle, Nico, White Tiger, Misty Knight, and Ashley Barton are clogging up toy aisles, and that's because the average person, and even the casual comic fan, has no clue who or what they're looking at, or even the connection to said character.

Well at least they got it better than WalMart employees.

i hear ya..but what more do you want??. I'm glad the prices drop fairly quickly, its not like they sit around for even CLOSE to the time some 6" waves do. Plus they end up nice and cheap for us. Deadpool was already at Target for like 29.00. I don't know the rhyme or reason..nor do i care. But cheap figs work for me. ;o)
