Are these both just repaints??..and the jean comes with diff heads??

They're mostly repaints. Cyclops is using the bucky cap mold but he comes with a new head. The vizor comes from the Jim Lee Cyclops since it's a separate piece. I think the belt might be new too. I'm not entirely sure which body Dark Phoenix uses but it's probably the same one as the green version. The sash and the head with the normal hair sculpt come from Ms. Marvel while the other two heads with the wild hair look to be all new. And she has flat feet instead of wedges.

Haha you and me both man! I had zero intention of picking up Black Panther but sure enough, I pre-ordered him and just picked it up tonight. I am glad I am not a MOC collector though since they bent the top piece and slapped a big Walmart sticker on the back.

I would have MUCH preferred an Ultimates look with the more feline mask but over all I am actually really happy with the figure.

I just read Ultimates Vol 1 trades (both of them) thanks to that Super Amazon sale, how could I not pass up that price lol. Really loved that book, may end up picking up Ultimates vol 2 trade now. The Panther design is fantastic I agree, and a bit different in subtle ways, instead of overpowering you with a whole newly redesigned outfit.

Also that series makes me want to have a Blue Marvel even more, and yes, I'd like a MAC legend!!

yeah i like BP...but..I kinda actually like him in the package. I don't necessarily need to open this one for any reason. So I might actually leave him MIP to openly display.

I am going to repeat myself and say I'd like them to do a two pack of Blue Marvel and Anti-Man just so we could get both at once.

Thanks man - I wasn't too sure about sculpting a full head and ears over the Michael Keaton Batman head, that's a few steps over my pay grade, but I wanted to give it a shot. I think I need to repaint the eyes (again) and see goes I feel about it. Thanks again!

@Nite

Blue Marvel and the Whizzer? lol I could see the Whizzer and Spitfire. Or Whizzer and Baron Blood. I never really cared for those Liberty Legion characters, but if I could get a Baron Blood with one I'd bite the bullet...

Edit: Thanks, Dark and Red :D

To add to that...his costume was yellow. Guess the guy who created him really had to use the head and just drew it on the fly. ;)

Captain Nash 06-22-2017 08:03 AM

Whizzer as in Wanda and Pietro's Father/Not-Father/Maybe Father/Retcon-Not Father/Retcon Father again Whizzer?

On second thought = Their adopted father. FU Marvel Magneto will ALWAYS be their father to me lol

Yah Wand and Pietro's current REAL dad. :p *I'm sure if Marvel ever gets the film/merch rights for ff and xfilms back magneto will be retconned as their dad again*

But yeah I could do with their ADOPTED father.

TheBlueMarvel 06-22-2017 08:26 AM

Don't forget Bova, Nash. Wanda and Pietro's midwife/wetnurse/defacto mom...
"FU" threw me off..."Former Universe?" That's probably going to take root considering how people feel about the current state of affairs.

Until marvel leadership changes ( wont mention names ) im sure its only gonna get worse.
Still on the hunt for those homecomin figs and guardians wave 2.

TheBlueMarvel 06-22-2017 08:39 AM

@Nite

The wheels of change, especially as it pertains to hiring new blood, move incredibly slowly at Marvel. I've a former work colleague turned close friend who has a long history in publishing/media and for the past 10 years he has sent his resume to Marvel annually and hasn't heard so much as a peep from them. I've read they have inordinately long unpaid internships (4-5 years) and that the environment is toxic. But take all that with a grain of salt, the anecdotal experience of my buddy doesn't mean that it's a uniform phenomenon and the rest of that is mostly rumor...

Good luck with those. I think you'll have an easy time in the month finding the Homecoming figures. The wave 2 of GOTG2 is doing exactly what I feared it would. Coded the same as wave 1, which is still glutting the shelves (not surprising considering it's only 3 months old TBH), stores are not looking to reorder what they would consider the "same" product. Hasbro and/or retailers REALLY need to start differentiating between the waves, as this is a continual problem, and will continue to be with series that have two waves. It doesn't help that there is so much now that is shipping so close together - great if you can find it but if you can't find it, it may as well be shipping months down the road.

And yeah, once Marvel Leadership changes SW and QS will be the mutant children or Magneto again (oh wait they are now! ;)) and more importantly, the real Jean Grey will come back and Spidey and MJ will be a thing again.

@TMB, if nothing else they are toxic towards red-heads. I wonder what happened with certain peoples past and redheads. They have been shat upon the last 15 years - Jean, Wanda, MJ...ironically Black Widow (is she a real redhead or not?) has done better than she ever has, thanks to the movies.

To be honest i only want half the vulturewing wave, tombstone, moon knight and beetle. Got no use or want for pajama tween spidey, normal suit spidertween or hal jordan with metal exo legs....or those dumb wings.

Retail ordering seems to be the equivalent of military intelligence ( by that i mean incompitent, redundant and should definitely be revised for accuracy ).

I think failmarts and targouges here seem to think the sandman wave is homecoming and gotg vol. 1 is everything. I swear they must have manatees running their departments.

I know it's easy to blame retailers, and it's entirely possible that the coding for the product lies on their end, but it may also lie with Hasbro.

At any rate I can't blame the actual employees, it's like saying you need Strawberry Jelly and you have a ton of Grape Jelly, but when you go into the system to order, all you see is "Jelly". What store would order more in that case? It's very much the same here. all they see is GTG, SPD, XMN, AVG, or whatever the actual codes are, and it's the same for multiple waves.

It's why I've taken to being less picky with first waves as far as ordering them online, I know they're going to hit retail. But seconds waves it's pretty much online ordering if you want them at any reasonable time after release. Saints preserve us if there's a third wave like there was with the Cap Abomination wave.

Oh I'm not blaming the grunts on the floor ( as "helpful" as they are ) im blaming whoever designates the stuff as what they do. Be it hasbro lazily lumping the items codes or the intake grunt not wanting to differntiare at the console cause its too much work or who ever...if its a different wave it should have different labeling in the sydtem.

Trivial Psychic 06-22-2017 09:10 AM

The Hollywood Reporter is stating that Sony has revealed the villain for Venom will be Carnage.

Way too soon. They really should have started small. Maybe a crime boss like Mr. Negative, Tombstone, or Hammerhead. Maybe even the Life Foundation. Something to get the whole "Lethal Protector" thing going. It's gonna be hard enough to figure out Venom' s origin WITHOUT Spidey...buy let's not forget that Brock doesn't meet Cassidy UNTIL Spider-Man puts him in jail. At least with the crime boss thing, we could say that Cassidy was some sort of super insane and brutal siccario type working for them. The unhinged enforcer guy that makes even the boss a little uneasy...

This film is going to be a mess. Still can't figure out what universe it will be set in thanks to that weird interview with Amy Pascal. I am also not liking that it appears Black Cat and Silver Sable will be starring alongside one another in their upcoming film. it really just feels like Sony is throwing s*** at a wall and seeing what sticks.

Yup, somewhere along the line something needs to change, absolutely. I'm thinking ahead to the next two years where it's entirely possible Hasbro may want 3 waves of Avengers-related figures to cash in on the two big movies. it's going to be overkill but also unfindable overkill. I'm glad Songbird is rumored to be in the first wave as changes of actually finding that wave will be decent.

I wish movie makers would stop just trying to cash in on the popularity of characters and actually attempt to tell the stories. If they did this the money would come inevitably by way of movie attendance, dvd sales, and figure. They just want the quick dime. There is no way they will be able to establish a good character foundation for Venom AND introduce Carnage. I had hope that this movie could have potential when they said it was a stand alone but introducing Carnage will kill one character and will likely kill both of them. Too much in one movie. Bummer.
