for a newbie is it better to start with 4 or go straight to 6?
I'm asking for a friend.

Do you mean toy buying? Whatever scale they prefer. It's not like you need to work your way up to bigger scales.

I'm not on Facebook. Can anyone post this "What If" question?

Here's a sugestion Hasbro may already love. What if via cardboard, thee entire 3.75" line can become "The Vintage (Toy Biz) Collection"? Hasbro is already on this corporate craze bandwagon for "Millenial Marketing." Seems to be working, too. While regular carded figures are clearancing down in price, the Amazon Exclusive vintage collection is selling upwards in price. Up from $79 to $99.

Sorry, but I can't see how the sales of one exclusive would be an indicator of future sales of non-exclusive items. We also have *no* idea how much stock Amazon had, nor do we know if the item is 'selling' at $99, just that they've upped the price.

Hey this is off topic. But I just really wanted to show the Spider-Man vs Shocker two pack I just got. The Spider-Man is possibly the best 3.75 inch Spidey we've gotten.

Start off small...you could rip it.

@Joe- I'm sure SOMEONE can post that for you since you've asked. It is a good question.

@B4NE- it is never off topic to post pics bro! We get caught up talking in circles about two things all the time. The two things are nothing and the same thing. Round and round again. A fresh interjection with pics is not only welcome, but the actual reason this thread exists. Always post pics as often as you can!!

Speaking of pics, felt good to get some new ones up. Felt like I had been putting up the same 12 pics for two years. I want to change that. I may even just start taking a shot of single figures with a cool background for the hell of it.

Edit:after re reading this it sounded mean. I like talking about the same shit. As such I will continue to do so and triple post and be long winded.

B4ne 06-09-2017 04:27 PM

@ukmu thank you! I'll be sure to post plenty of pics then lol. Here's part two!
Also this building came with a Young Justice Invasion Batman 6 inch fig. It looks great with 4 inchers.http://orig07.deviantart.net/014c/f/...er-dbc50pd.jpg

No wrist hinge and no elbow swivel - the thwip hand sticks out permanently. Best Spidey was one from a 2-pack released a couple of years ago (Cap Britain pack?).

Good pics btw.

Why don't you just tell her... "Buy what you want to buy." That's what most collectors do.

I refuse to do Facebook, but if I did, I would ask about seeing a wave purely composed of old cancelled figures. Stuff like Skurge, Strucker, etc.

Hint hint, someone ask that for me, please.

So many 6" set pieces usually do.

CCC.

Han Solo's 6 inch "vintage" carded figures are hard to find. He's been released multiple times before, in boxed form. Now he's on a cheap "vintage" card, the same Solo figure is selling well. Collectors laugh about why he's selling. It's because of a thin cheap card. That "vintage" feel has value. We can do the same. Millenials by the millions, grew up on '90s Toybiz figures, and still geek out on nerd subculture. It can help keep this great toyline alive.

People are trying to collect the original Star Wars characters in their best form. The original Black Solo (like R2) had sold out, so he was the in-demand one. Obi, Luke, Leia, Threepio - had all been released within a year of the vintage card reissues. The vintage cards aren't any more cheap than the regular boxes, they would cost as much to make and take up a lot more room when shipping and being displayed - this is something retailers really don't like. They'll accept it for a short period during an anniversary of one of the biggest toylines of all time, but not as standard. Millennials aren't the target market for toys - Gen X are. Look, if they want to issue the figures on a different coloured cardback - great. But they know as well as we do that it wouldn't sell the line if the figures aren't in demand. If it gets more figures released - great - I'd love to be proved wrong.

Adult toys or regular toys.... :PBJ

I guess that's the point I too was trying to communicate. If it helps get Executioner, Gold Ultron, and brand new figures that would be great. We can disagree on other points, yet the important point is, we all want new figures. The question being (submitted) is how to get those new figures? I agree Gen-Xers were and still are a great target audience. Yet as of this last year, Millenials now outnumber Boomers, and now outnumber the toy spending of Gen-Xers.

The potential market is now bigger. But the big question would therefore be... do Millenials spend as much on toys / memorabilia as Gen X'ers?

There are a shit ton of questions about the 3.75" line, most of them being WTF WHY DID YOU CRAP ON THE LINE HASBRO!
I just wish they would use the old bucks for NEW characters, like the colossus buck for deaths head II

In keeping with the thread's tradition, here's my 2 cents,
The official Cap 2 figure was a bit off short scaled and i really liked the cinematic stealth suit, so i made this one...

Sorry for the poor pic quality.

Sender 06-09-2017 09:29 PM

Head/Shield: Cap movie.
Body/Harness/Belt: GiJOE Shipwreck/GiJOE Duke/MU Rogers.

Sorry for the poor pic quality.

Wowza

Yes. They surely spend much more, by a wide double digit lead.

Millennials (18-34 years old) account for 50 per cent of the spend among grown-ups buying toys for themselves.
Gen X-ers' (35-54 years old) account for around a third of sales.
