I do try to not quote with all images if it's a LOT that I'm quoting by typing something like *snip* where the image links were and leaving any text and then my reply.

Yeah, you've brought this (well, the wall of images, not necessarily quoting them) up before if I recall correctly. I'm glad the images don't affect me, but it's still a little annoying, so I definitely understand where you're coming from.

I thought that perhaps at one point it was meant to have one normal eye and one squinted eye.

It's sculpted to be the squinting eye but they painted it like the open version. Every set of this pack that I've seen has it like that. I'd just guess like TimothyR that maybe at one point Hasbro wanting him to be doing like a wink but instead painted them both to be open.

My McFarlane Mass Effect Andromeda Scott Ryder arrived, very nice, had his feet and wrists pop off a few times though. I really hope they keep making more of the Andromeda figures.

About damn time too. Mask of the Phantasm and Return of the Joker are better than anything that's been done in live action.

That's great, I saw something on Amazon about it but I didn't actually check if it was available yet. The fact that it spins an original story is just icing on the cake, every other worthwhile Batflick is in some way or another adapted material.

Early Cuyler 07-26-2017 12:04 AM

TAS is the definitive Batman for me. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are Batman and the Joker in my head. Never got into TNBA or Beyond, but thinking about picking up the Beyond series on DVD. Its only $30 at a local store brand new.

I actually saw this on Christmas day at the theater with my family. This is such a great movie and is more in line with the comics than any live action version of Batman. Now we just need to get the complete Animated Series reissued on Blu Ray.

You have to look at it from a different point of view though. It spins its own story because it had the TV series that already developed the world, the characters, and to use adapted comics. As such, there was already an established universe and mythos. They didn't need to adapt stuff.

If the live action movies didn't adapt things from the comics, people would be up in arms about it. Although, I can't say Burton's movie really took much from the comics as he did his own story with his own mythos (such as Joker being there instead of Joe Chill).

I got to see half of the movie in theaters. I say half because during Andrea's flashback when she is telling Bruce what happened the film broke and they couldn't fix it. Thus, I had to wait until I got the VHS of it to see the rest of the movie.

Beyond is amazing. I'd say the first season is the strongest despite Season 2's excellent ruin. On the other hand, Season 3 is hit or miss. There are some truly outstanding episodes (the last ep with the Royal Flush Gang and the Talia episode) and it has some pretty mediocre ones (Big Tyme and the JL 2 parter). Nevertheless, there is a reason Terry is now seen as the definitive future Batman by people.

TNBA is also great. Yeah, there are some average episodes and not all of the designs work well, but it has episodes like Over the Edge, Legends of the Dark Knight, Old Wounds, Judgement Day, and Mad Love. Just make sure you avoid Critters.

Excellent point comparing the established animated mythos to any live action version which had to start from the ground up. I also really like TNBA overall, personally I just lump it in with the rest of TAS as one whole Batman series that happens to see a shift in art direction part way through. Critters was a crap episode :D

Just got the Super 7 MoTU Ultimates in. These are my first He-Man figures since the early '80's. I haven't opened them yet, but they look pretty good in package. I'm not a fan of the 4 Horsemen, quite the opposite, actually, but these look ok.

lordbest 07-26-2017 06:21 PM

I've had arrive today:

-Transformers Titans Return Nautica
-Marvel Legends Walgreen Invisible Woman
-Marvel Legends Spidey & MY 2-pack
-TBS6" TRU Commander Gree

Nautica cost me 3 times RRP, but worth it. Sue looks great, as does the two-pack and Gree is extremely nice too.
