And yes, I'm pretty much out of this scale for Marvel but I can't fathom getting rid of what I've got!

it never dawned on me..until reading here..that it WAS...only at Target.

and yeah..i look at my setup....even though i FEEL ...like i would like to sell them.....and i have most of them displayed..and i'm like...NAH...can't sell these things...they look too good together.

Errrmmm, I've got a carded LDP but can't remember which EBay seller I got it from. Cost me around £15 GBP so starting to look like money well spent. Sorry Folks!!!

...... BREAKING NEWS......

CONFIRMED

no SDCC set this year
50/50 on reveals of 3.75" at SDCC
may wait August HasCon for reveals
there are new reveals to be shown
line WILL carry on, new contract
to "return" next year to con

Jesse Fallon

Sources also tell me that they are delaying waves fry :) to sort out the ChinaBay issues of leaked figures. That has gummed up the works and trying to resolve that.

Another source, last week, told me to expect the diorama next year to return as well. Been slowly gathering Intel until had enough to release. CONFIRMED information as well.

That's very handy information! ANd welcome! Hoping they do decide to show something at SDCC.

I dunno, given current exchange rates probably about $18!

ukmu 06-26-2017 03:43 PM

Just got another message as well... apparently they are favouring the 12" line over the 3.75" for the Con showing this year. No reason offered as of yet, but my guess is a financial push. Sales are WAY up on Titans I know and they are doing well, according to HASBRO. Even Mattel are biting and releasing DC and other licensees in the same scale. I have seen them restock several times in the past few months at Tesco (#2 retail store in the world behind Wal-Mart) and have spotted about one in five young boys at the park carrying them around. Not that I am at the park on the lookout for young boys, just an observation I have had during our recent rare warm British weather on trips with my son.

So fingers crossed, we get all but skipped at the Con and get showered in love at HasCon the following month. I suspect the C-Bay thing has them very concerned. I think that horse is dead now though as they are over retail now over stocked. It is my belief (and I have been wrong on everything lately) that the "contract" we all heard so much about over the last 18 months has ended and a new one will be in place with perhaps a new factory. Or at least a deal were the factory can't sale their overflow production pieces. Perhaps HASBRO has even gone back actually owning the facility instead of leading the contract to independent manufacturing. Pure speculation on that.

I think the 12in line your source is referring to is the new-ish super-articulated figures, not the 5poa Titans line. The super-articulated 12in line is getting an exclusive Daredevil for SDCC.

I hope whatever changes they make are impactful and can breathe new life in the line. The series has grown stale in my area with only a handful of locations that actually carry the line. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the lowdown, Ukmu!!

Loved the video!!!! (#ExtraBellyButton)

@RedFox...hopefully. It can't really get worse, only end. I hope it goes on forever to be honest. The whole "real collectors" don't go for this scale has gotten to me. Also, the 12" Marvel Legends lines...of course. They wouldn't bother with the Titans at SDCC as it isn't their target market. I do wish they would make some cheap "big guys" that we could fudge into our scale. Sentinels or whatever. I know they wouldn't be great but at the prices they go for when on offer-as low as under a tenner and often buy one get one free-market for 20 with change you could have 4. Repainted and in the background they would be quite cool.

Been digging for months permitting and hoping and scouring. Big up to Jackie Boy as well. He gave me more than a few heads up along the way. Guess I can stop looking on taoboa now. Pity, as I am almost starting to understand some Chinese writing.

This made me laugh pretty hard ukmu... otherwise some bummer news.

I did see the 12" deadpool on clearance for $24.98 at target the other day, it's too bad what's happened to our once proud Marvel Universe line. The 6" trolls are out in full force.
I'll probably buy a lot more bossfight stuff since we aren't getting much in this scale. I think the future of this line is the occasional 2 pack like skurge and enchantress, let's just hope we get more than one wave that clogs the pegs, we need some of the variety that the 6" figures are coming out with.

Wait, what?! :(

I remain hopeful that Hasbro hasn't truly forsaken us but at times it's hard not to feel glum. Especially because it looked like things were possibly on the rise before they just axed that last wave. We shouldn't have to be grateful for these occasional two packs but outside of customs they're the only way to get new figures anymore.

Sender 06-26-2017 09:41 PM

Great custom work Pilkster and Mordiganne. i believe Mordiganne will have the Marvel Universe Who's Who Encyclopedia filled out before he knows it.

Thanks for the update, UKMU. May not be great news, but at least we are in the know.

i figured the occasional cinematic related two-packs would likely be the standing 1:18 trend. They are unexpected treats. Glad to know the entire scale wasn't cut off for the 1:6 line.

Il Cattivo 06-26-2017 10:35 PM

like it or not we're headed into the dark age. gonna be a rough few years boys. now the question is: are you strong enough to survive?

ukmu 06-26-2017 10:58 PM

We will still be getting some stuff. There are still reveals to be had. How much and how are often are up for speculation at this point. They did say 2018 so at least we have that, my money says longer because I don't see them doing a one year extension contract.

Looks like we are waiting for HasCon for our news. Still, a chance of seeing a few new things at SDCC too. I am hoping for a return of the "display" at HasCon. I sure do miss that.

I should expect business as usual. Three to four waves a year. 15-20 new figures in the mix. Also, I don't see why the current trend of increased quality has to stop. Sure, 23 POA with card art, stand and accessories are over; but maybe we get at least the quality of the past couple waves.

Also, I would expect to see the Jessica Jones (Jewel) and HydraCap wave. Think it just got delayed due some growing pains and perhaps switching factories? Who knows though. I am truly :) to stick to my new "be nice to HASBRO" attitude and am ever the optimist.

Lastly, apparently you can't simply delete an account here. You can only abandon it. We have so few older active core members, it would add to lose any. I for one sure do miss a lot of them. So for now, you guys are stuck with me as I'm not going anywhere. In fact, I have a new resurgence in the line. What with building the "collection room/mancave" and all. Expect at least three long winded posts 5 or more days a week from this old dog....... ukmu out.

yeah was having one of those days, bro :)
it appears the talk is true,no sdcc exclusive for us as a result of those new 12 figs that are super articulated.but as far as im hearing the line is continuing into 2018 and beyond, there are people involved in the line that dont want to see it disappear.

Untill they drop the price down to a less ricockulous point and restore articulation to where it was I cant justify buying any figs, especially since the distribution is so pisspoor.

MUfan97 06-27-2017 08:12 AM

I wonder if they revealed those two packs to kinda make up for the lack of a 3.75 inch SDCC exclusive. You know, give us something else to hype about.

Question..since i don't frequent this thread too often this may be older news but..
I've NEVER seen a lady deadpool in a store. I only wanted x-23(wolverine) and Lady Dealpool from that wave. I've picked up the x-23 (and i've only seen this twice in store) and NEVER a LD.
Has this fig just been impossible to find??

Thanks!

I've never seen the wave at retail. I'd have picked up a couple of them for sure, but they never even hit this area, but the east coast usually gets things in last and they likely pulled the rest of the shipments long before they were scheduled to head this way.

Ha That's the plan. At last count my "to make" list is around 200 characters long and constantly growing. Very few are re-dos/ existing characters. I've even snagged a whole bunch of digital copies of the Offical Marvel Handbooks just so I can go scouring for random characters without having to jump online.

Glad you're sticking around. I hate goodbyes. And on that note, if you changed your mind about a fig drop me a PM.

As for myself, I'm in the game for as long as I can get parts and paint with a steady hand. I enjoy the hobby more being creative with it. Each figure I make is like a little work of art. Plus, it gives me something to do when I'm bored and don't want to go out. :D

Missed this...that's just my old Hydro Man custom from many months ago. If you click on any of the pics it will take you to my photobucket page, you can find more pics of him in there somewhere. And yes, it's a repainted Sandman with a Hyperion head. Thanks!
