Damn. Tomorrow's the day for Robbie and I don't think he's going to make it. At this exact moment we need 3,649 more backers. That's not a huge number to traverse but come on. With the rate it's been going that's probably not going to happen.
|
Just an idea assuming Robbie uncooked doesn't make it in. For everyone that is backing, how would you feel about the idea of an exclusive code to buy Robbie separately. As in for everyone that backs, Hasbro sends a special code and match it with your Pulse account allowing you to buy a Robbie. It's not great but at least we wouldn't be missing out.
|
Truth be told the regular Robbie doesn't really matter to me so if he doesn't happen he doesn't happen.. But I hope he happens somehow for those that do want one.
|
I have a feeling they won't allow the early bird offer to fail. Would probably be bad press and may negatively affect people who jump in later once all stretch goals are revealed.
They usually "add" backers who didn't order directly from Hasbro Pulse at the end of a campaign; maybe they just do it now to get up to 9000. Or they extend the time window to unlock the figure. |
Seems fairly unlikely it'll reach 9k today (unless like somebody else said, they've been holding back some foreign orders instead of updating them daily), though they've been at a pretty good clip of 300+ a day so unless that totally falls off I think it's gonna get funded at least to Mephisto.
I could see them pivoting to putting Robbie at the 12k backers tier with Mephisto with a "hey so we didn't meet the early bird but we still want civilian Robbie to be a part of this". Wouldn't be mad at that. |
They could just do an alternate head for human Robbie instead of an entire separate figure. I'm not expecting a standard human Robbie as part of this campaign or anytime soon if the early bird fails as expected.

I think the 12000 backer tier for Mephisto is unreachable if they can't even hit the early bird goal in the first 7 days. It'll be interesting come Monday to see how Hasbro responds to this failure and if they suddenly change the rules for the early bird figure and/or reveal the rest of the tiers as panic suddenly sets in.

I'm honestly kind of morbidly excited to see the response of people realizing that Hasbro was serious about not including the civilian version despite having civilian swap-out parts for the car. People elsewhere have been encouraging others to boost their pledges or pledge then cancel to ensure the Robbie figure, lambasting anyone who isn't doing it as being irrational fence sitters (or maybe they're just moderately ethical?) so I'm curious how low this'll drop come morning when people see that the Early Bird wasn't met. If those people were outliers and the trajectory stays as it has, there won't be any need to Hasbro to accelerate any reveals because this has otherwise been a totally normal Haslab trajectory.
But if those people made up a hefty chunk, and this thing has lost a thousand come morning? Uh-oh. It's already down 80 from its high of 6120, and it's the middle of the night right now. |

As expected, some backers jump ship but the project will be fine I think. These things always go crazy near the end when people want those stretchgoals. |

Like bruh, it has nothing NOTHING to do with the race of the character. |

Hasbro also should stick to their guns. If some people are so dead set on these projects failing to send a message to Hasbro, then the same needs to happen in reverse to remind those fans how this works. |

Speaking of funny and walking away, a significant number of “supporters,” roughly 200-300 appear to have backed out since the Lab failed to meet the early bird threshold. While I’m disappointed that Robbie’s alter ego was missed, there’s still a chance Hasbro might offer an olive branch and deliver given that it’s ostensibly a redeco with a new head. That said, I admit to being curious about the reasoning for those that decided this shortcoming is a dealbreaker worthy enough of jumping ship at this early juncture. Here’s one for this age of conspiracy we find ourselves in - watching these HasLab’s fail has become a bit of sport at this point and there might be a number of people that order with an intention to leave en masse, simply for the drama of it all. Maybe I’m discounting the excitement generated from having civvie Robbie along with ‘street-mode’, but it just seems odd to me. |
Sucks that those people left the campaign just because it pushes us back a little. But I already said it before. I'm ultimately here for Mephisto. For me that will be the dealbreaker but personally I think he'll make it.

It was at around 6120 close to midnight last night when I checked, and it is now at 5856. This could turn into another Rancor fiasco if it has mass numbers of people changing their mind and cancelling preorders in the days ahead as they realize they just lost out on one of the figures in this campaign, which now lessens the overall value a bit for a set that was already overpriced to begin with. Going to be interesting to see how Hasbro responds Monday to try to salvage this thing.

The Early bird failed because while there may be demand, $350 is not the price willing to be paid in under a week.
I sure some people backed the Haslab just to pad the numbers with no intention to actually pay up. Others, they didn't have full confidence and no Robbie hasn't helped. The HISS is not standard. Funding in one week only works if the reception is hot and Hasbro very much misread the room. With 37 days lets, it's anyone's game. Be concerned when it's two days left and it hasn't funded just to go into production. Otherwise most of these projects level out for 30 days then kick into gear at the end. What Hasbro should do next week. Just announce all the tiers. Potential backers need a bit more hope. Because if Tier one is 12,000. Going to have a problem for a bit. |
Man I was pretty hyped to see a Robbie Ghost Rider...and then I spotted the price tag...yikes! I mean, it's not a licensed Charger, it's generic enough to avoid licensing fees and as nicely detailed with lights and all that it is...I can't justify that price. There's other companies that do large cars fr less than this. Also, I really wanted an Agents of Shield version than the comic version.
