Damn, I need an X-Force Archangel. Anyone selling/trading one? Or know of a good custom one?

ultraman zoffy 03-12-2013 08:32 AM

Modded Assemblers hanging out in my movie 3.75 lineup now... the added height from their new joints fits them right in scale:

looks so much better

JanSolo 03-12-2013 05:01 PM

Had to go to an outlet mall yesterday with the fiancee and there was a Toys R Us Express there so after we were done with the other stores I stopped in to see what that had in the way of MU, because they usually have a far better selection than Target and Walmart but I can't get there as often as the others because let's face it some times it's easier to justify a quick stop down the toy aisle while shopping for food, clothing and housewares than driving to the far side of town to buy toys. Anyway..... They had such a good selection Beast (I'll wait till a more classic look comes out), Puck (Price was a bit much for such a small figure, maybe in a team pack or something.), Guardian (Really hard for me to pass up, but I hoping for a team pack with Puck and Sasquatch), Steve Rogers (easier to pass on at the moment.), that Spidey that has a web backpack (easy to pass), the new Hulk (ordered for cheaper at BBTS), Nighthawk (maybe later I feel like he may become a peg warmer)and the one I chose Hercules. He was clearly the best figure of the bunch, more for my money. I changed his top belt to look more like the older look/Steve Reeves movie (which this figure really looks like.)

Then I saw something I needed to get for Hercules to battle.

I chose the griffins instead of the wolves and grabbed some Orcs they had too since it was BOGOHO. They aren't MU, but I think they fit in nicely as Hercules and Thor enemies.

I may have to get more of those guys as well as some proper Frost Giants to give Loki a real nice army. I think they would also fit nicely with Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange and Hulk.

So yeah if you're looking to fill out your enemy army these guys are pretty cool IMO.

Is that a Mage Knight Griffon?

JanSolo 03-12-2013 05:34 PM

'True Legends' it's part of the 'True Heroes' toyline Toys R Us (get it TRU, True).

Sunfire is such a great figure. One of the few I didn't add anything too myself as a mod because it's such a perfect looking figure (granted it's the old body type, but it's still good). I just passed on Guardian, but I do want him and more Alpha Flight guys. Same with Captain Britain, I want all of Excalibur. I wish they would put out team packs for them soon. Those other figures look nice too, though I'm not that familiar with them other than by name. I feel like Captain Marvel had such a short time in the comics that if you weren't reading them right when they came out you wouldn't know much about him. All I think I know of him is that he's sort of how Rogue got her powers: He died, Ms.Marvel took his place, Rogue took her powers. Is that right?

bmorr 03-13-2013 02:28 PM

yup, thats right. the other ones are iron man 2020 and spiderman 2099.

JanSolo 03-13-2013 02:55 PM

I only the 2099 stuff by sight I couldn't tell you any more than that. It would be pretty cool to have a Hulk 2099 though I remember him just looking monstrous as hell with claws. But other that that I just remember it happened and the titles (Spider-Man, X-Men, Doom, Punisher and I think it was called Ravage?) but at the time I was too busy reading other titles. I do however really like that MU makes figures of more obscure characters so maybe some day I'll get my Mimic or Sleepwalker.

bmorr 03-13-2013 03:31 PM

most of those books are now in trade paperbacks. There is a Complete Doom 2099 coming out in April:

Doom 2099: The Complete Collection by Warren Ellis: Warren Ellis, John Francis Moore, Pat Broderick, David Klein, John Royle, Steve Pugh, Ashley Wood, John Buscema: 9780785167549: Amazon.com: Books

oh and were finally getting an omnibus for the New Warriors:
New Warriors Omnibus - Volume 1: Fabian Nicieza, Eric Fein, Dan Slott, Tom Defalco, Mark Bagley, Steve Epting, Ron Frenz, Tom Raney: 9780785167747: Amazon.com: Books

JanSolo 03-13-2013 03:52 PM

New Warriors hell yeah! Those guys need figures and now. It would be nice to display Firestar with another team than the Spider Friends. I'm on the look out for Nova, but there are a few others out there I would rather have before him given a choice.

wylde bil 03-13-2013 06:50 PM

i need them to make the main exiles characters, that would be my make-a-wish
Mimic
blink (aoa)
morph
nocturna
thunderbird (war)
female sunfire
Sasquatch

I will add a vote for the new warriors, especially in their first costumes from the mid-90's.

And sleepwalker...and deathlok...and the first X-Force team from the mid 90's, too.

I desparately hunted for Captain Britain when he was released and I never found him. Went to eBay eventally for $15 shipped, not bad...Excalibur is the title that really got me into comics back in the day. If they would only make Megan, Shadowcat & Rachel Summers my life would be complete...

redfox 03-13-2013 08:31 PM

Anybody notice this description of Psylocke in the new case from bbts?

Psylocke: Dressed in a purple costume with a silver sash belt, Psylocke is equipped with a translucent purple katana...

Is this an Uncanny X-force variant or an improper description?

Marvel Universe 3.75" 2012 Series 04 - Case of 12 - Marvel Figures (Hasbro) Marvel Universe 3.75"

I loved that book so so much. I'd also include Magnus he'd be an easy repaint of existing parts I would think. Maybe Time Broker as well.

Any AoA would be nice. AoA Sabertooth would be the best though (any proper MU Sabertooth) and he could use either the Kraven or Hercules bucks.

Oh man dude you're giving me Toy Biz flashbacks. Now I want G.W.Bridge.

I had two turned one into Booster Gold and sadly lost the other one and now I can't find him any where. But really without Megan he's kinda out of place.

Count me in for completing Excalibur in MU (either as a team 3-pack or individually carded figs). I'd also really like to see Nightcrawler get a single pack release for once.

Seen this pack sitting on the Walmart floor yesterday morning with no price or spot on the shelf. Was about to walk away since all the individual vehicles in this generic army set are $19.99 a piece, but out of curiosity I lugged it over to a scanner and.. BAM! clearanced to $20! It's huge as seen in the pic below (taken next to my shelf for size reference) and has 4½ vehicles, I think like 10 generic crappy soldiers and about 50 weapons. This was an easy pickup for my MU displays!

P.S. The bottom shelf display is a mess because of my son. He likes to pull the skatepark pieces out, therefore destroying the entire display. So I've just left it! :P

Thats a great pick up, Q! I pick up things from a line called The Power Team (I think) whenever I can find them. Perfect for Joes with lots of dio pieces.

It is a disappointing day! I got my case of toys from the big bad Toy store, and my black bolt has a paint chip on his nose. My Prof. X case does not have a bag head Spiderman. And I'm being whiny despite getting the latest two waves as a result.

Dang I'll be getting mine Saturaday, what was the other Spider-Man that you got? Hopefully at least the Miles Morales variant then?
