Anyone track down the Ultimate Vulture two-pack? I'm wondering how big his wingspan is in comparison to the movie BAF version's.

https://icv2.com/articles/news/view/...6-market-shift As for Legacy, no, not really. It looks like Thor's getting his hammer back and Captain America isn't gonna be a Nazi anymore, but the younger and minoritiy characters are sticking around. Heck these are some of the initial images they used to announce Legacy. http://nerdist.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/ML.jpg http://insidepulse.com/wp-content/up...ks-variant.jpg But anyway we've been down this road about a billion times at this point. Hasbro's not gonna stop making Legends of more diverse characters, so people need to get over that dream. |
He retracted it because it was contradicted by the sales data provided by Diamond and even Comixology. The whole thing was farcical.
Minor-ish spoiler, but the Ultimate universe (I think) Mjolnir has been found in the 616 universe, so I expect at some point that is going to find it's way to Odinson. |

Looking at the Legacy promos, the only prominent diverse character I can see missing off the top of my head, is Riri Williams. The presence of Iron Man doesn't exactly negate the existence of Ironheart either. So hardly a triumph for the anti-PC crowd. |

You're right, I hadn't seen the second image when I posted the above. So, no major diverse characters are being lost then.

Is that Earth X Venom in the bottom-most right?

The only character I've heard about being missing from any of the promo covers has been modern era Steve Rogers. The classic version (from WW 2 I think) is showing up on the group shot but nowhere else.

Really, if anything it's looking like Legacy is going to be honoring the legacy characters, not ushering them out. Also noticing a distinct lack of Logan, which is good - let the poor man have his peace in death. I love him, but I also love Laura taking the name.

I actually collect and read comics on a regular. i also attend cons and talk to others. i also have a side business of selling graded comics. People have been straying away from current marvel due to what they've been doing. Dc has been killing them. It's not because of their roster or characters have dramatically changed either... they kept it to the roots with their stories, good writing, and the art has been pretty good. Can't say the same with Marvel however. |

It's also hilarious to use Rebirth as an example when one of the major selling points for Rebirth was that it specifically brought back a bunch of legacy characters and elements that had been rebooted out of the previous canon. Plus all that PCness! |
DC Rebirth was quite diverse too, especially following the New 52. Both in terms of characters and especially creators.
Plus multiple retailers have gone on the record saying diversity was good for Marvel, it was the constant events and cancelling titles before they even reached trades and so forth which hurt them. |

Honestly, I can't remember when the last period of more than a year where there wasn't some stupid effing event dominating the books. Have we been inundated in events since the original Civil War, or has it been before that? It's part of the reason I'm even getting dragged out with the Transformers comics, which are some of my favorite books - IDW has started down the 'Event-a-Year' method that forces the individual writers to sideline their stories for the sake of an event, and it's gotten worse since they've incorporated numerous other Hasbro property titles into a shared universe. When you have an 'event' every few months, it stops being eventful and starts being boring as hell. And above anything else, that is gonna make your audience apathetic to your books - a good story can't be told if it has to play second-fiddle to the story mandates of the editorial arm. |
