Hasbro could also announce or tease a new 6" Incredible Hulk figure for next year. They're doing a 12" version so I think a 6" version is possible. |
Just got an email from Entertainment Earth. Looks like they just shipped my Star-Lord/Ego 2 Pack.

Speaking of Fin Fang Foom, anyone see the bootleg that's been making the rounds?

Also, the Captain America from that Face Off series looks freaking sweet. He as good as he looks in the pictures? |

Getting a second X-wave next year (aside from Deadpool) would be the absolute best news I could get from SDCC, that and a Sauron BAF. Really hoping for Gambit, Storm, Psylocke and Nightcrawler out of any redos. Oh and Lady Deathstrike as well. I'm sure they'll come at some point I just want them sooner than later. As much as I go on about how awful the Banshee figure is, I don't care enough about the character to put it ahead of of higher tier characters.

What's more frustrating for you guys? Missing one BAF piece for the figure or having a ton of random pieces you'll never use?

When you are just missing one BAF piece, you can solve the puzzle and complete it relatively quickly. Having a ton of random pieces, brings out a ADHD fit with no end in sight. |

My favorite Captain America is the Cap-Wolf figure (with the regular, non-mutated head). The head sculpt is what I think Cap should look like, the bodily proportions look more natural, and the red and blue of the costume are just about perfect. I know a lot of people are down on this figure because he doesn't have the scale armor on the top half of his costume but a lot of artists had started to leave it off the costume back in the day since he was more super hero than soldier at that point. But if Hasbro wanted to do a post 9/11 Captain America, then they definitely need to retool parts of the figure so he has the scale armor and utility belt. |

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...712_220715.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...712_220850.jpg The Face Off Caps are a testament to both everything that Toybiz was doing right and everything that they were doing wrong during the era. On the right side, the sculpts on the FO Caps were very good, with fully sculpted armor, wrinkles and texturing in the hood, gloves and boots, and some awesome paint apps with subtle washes all over the figure. On the downside, for as many points of articulation the FO figures have, the most important parts, the shoulders, are mostly useless thanks to the sculpt. Cap can not raise his arms horizontally more than 10 degrees, nor can he bring his arms down to his side's properly, giving him a gorilla stance. You also have to be very careful in attempting to move the arms, because the figure has the infamous, fragile, Toybiz butterfly joints. The neck juts forward in a weird way, giving him a hunch back appearance, and again, since this is a Toybiz figure, all of the other joints as well are subject to snapping off thanks to the dubious amounts of paint and wash applied over them. He's just not a very fun figure to try and pose. Honestly, if you were gonna pick up just one Cap figure From Toybiz, I would go for the original series 1 figure. While the body is obviously a bit outdated, I feel it still holds up fairly well, and has an articulation scheme not all that different from what Hasbro is using now, and unlike the FO Caps...it all works. Plus the head sculpt is incredible. I feel I should mention the Ultimates Cap as well as being a fairly good figure as well...although I am biased since I actually enjoyed this version of the character in the comics more than I did the 616 version. Much of the FO versions body mold was repurposed from this figure, only that the articulation on Ultimates Cap was much better. You just have to get past the head sculpt, which looks okay at certain angles, while at others, looks off and gives Cap the appearance of having a huge, cartoony jaw and underbite. The detail on the figure though is phenomenal, but again, your feelings towards the figure might also stem from whether or not you enjoyed this version of the character. One thing that is a positive among all of the figures though...the shield. The shields that came with the Toybiz Caps DESTROY Hasbro's in nearly every way, and I wish that Hasbro would copy them. They're perfect. |

I guess it's because I've been a cherry picker for so long and across so many lines I've gotten used to having BAF pieces, but being only one piece away and not completing one? Drives me nuts. Quote:

Thanks! While Felicia is still one of my favorite female Legends figures to date, I forgot how hard it was to do anything dynamic with her. Nevertheless, had a lot of fun putting those together. Haven't been able to sleep tonight, so here is a few more. I've been literally waiting a VERY long time to finally have these two together like this... http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1..._processed.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1..._processed.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1..._processed.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1..._processed.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1..._processed.jpg |

There is no worse feeling than working on a tough custom, parts wise and then BAM! Right in the middle of your work Hasbro announces the figure. If it was a different version or something that's one thing. I usually try to make stuff I assume Hasbro would never make. I was wrong on Nebula. I couldnt imagine Sauron.

I have a box of spare parts and extra figures that at some point I'm going to tackle but I have been saying that for several years now. I think the remodel and sale of the house interfered, and now while the new house is being built I just don't have space in the temporary place....soon though!! |
I really hope we see a classic Vulture at SDCC. OH, and a Giant Sized X-Men 5-6 pack.
