I actually had a better experience at the hasbro booth today vs what happened last year. The line on the floor was better managed because they didn't overload on giving too many time slot tickets. I didn't have to wait in another 3 hour line to buy from the stand but that is just my experience today. It definitely made up for my experience on Wednesday with Peter Parker and Trainwreck. Iceman and I were shocked to see that there was no one in line and how easy it was getting in. Now some part of that could have been from Hasbro not carry anymore Bruticus, my little pony (yes my little pony was the big seller at the hasbro stand) and ML X-Force but it eventually came in. The con has indeed outgrew the venue but its really difficult to prevent scalpers from doing what they do. I hate them too like the rest of you. It is like the ultimate hunt when getting a damn exclusive from a con.

What I loved is how they forced us to wait all morning to get a ticket to buy at the booth later in the day but then when we got there people without tickets were slowly being let in. It was nice once I showed up and I was glad to not wait very long (partially luck) after two mornings of trying. I was told that maybe more X-Force would come in later so I could go then or wait. I did pop by a few times after up until the floor closed but it always said sold out. If they did get more I guess they went fast sadly. It used to be a simple walk in and out but now it is also "big" business. That's just life I guess.

The crazy line situations are just beyond reason. They do it on the fly and it gets messed up easily then large numbers of people end up cutting. The lines for the major panels were about a mile (possibly more) of walking from the back of the line. They are trying hard but they need more room desperately. Con is still fun but I think you just need to stick to smaller panels and avoid lines as much as possible. Heck, I actually ran into Stan Lee. Like literally bumped into him on accident.

Folkart is what I used for my Sentinel - the metallucs dry perfectly with no tackiness whatsoever!
Totally kick ass.

Angel's wings would be wrong as they're separate from his arms. Vulture's wings should be like Falcon's. By 'should be like Falcon's', I mean should be redesigned so they're better than Falcon's.

Radaki has a figure with perfect wings for Vulture- they're even green!

ditto my friend. The whole ticket and line thing sucks. Times have changed a lot at the con. I blame twilight, lol.

Iceman 07-14-2012 01:52 AM

Twilight's sparkly vampires ruin everything. That, and all the non comic/fantasy/sci-fi stuff just there for marketing.

Rit dye only adds color on top of what's there, mind you - it can't outright change a color. That said, once the Future Foundation SPidey (I don't give a flying frick about Future Foundation) comes out, I'll run some tests on what happens with rit dye and the white plastic. White would be much more likely to take on the color, and the MU figures are softer plastic than the Movie Spidey, and Rit dye is primarily for synthetic cloth like nylon, polyester and rayon - soft plastics. We'll see.

Jackieboy 07-14-2012 02:05 AM

When is Hit Monkey getting released???????

proteus 07-14-2012 02:10 AM

Ah thanks BF,thats a real shame, but nevermind,i was a little sceptical about how well it would take on firmer plastic anyway...

Boba Fettuccini 07-14-2012 02:45 AM

In checking again, Rit doesn't even work on polyester all that well, so that would render that moot in the end because they're probably a polyester resin or something similar.

olslick 07-14-2012 05:24 AM

Rit would work on that Spidey figure. It's softer plastic and that makes it easier. Though, it might not turn black completely. I'd guess the red would end up looking more like a dark purple...

Some of this has to do with the vendors making "trade-in" offers...The vendors will typically make up a trade amount they would offer for each con exclusive (this happens more than you would think), and then people at the cons will buy say 2 of something, and trade it to the vendor for different product they want. Its a very easy way to make ones con dollars instantly go farther...

Now thats interesting, maybe the dye could be used to darken the figure(especially the joints) then paint the rest to finish it off?? Its the joint rub thats my main concern........

Iceman 07-14-2012 07:18 AM

Alright people. I've got a pack MoE for you. I'm going to do $40+ shipping but just for this one. If anyone is wanting it just post in my BST that you are interested (just so my PM box doesn't fill up) and I will pick one person at random. I think this a very fair price to help someone on here out and I want people to have a chance at it if they are interested. Gonna cut it off Monday (basically midnight tomorrow) then I will draw a name when I get home from my flight.

I'm going to hold on to the other one I have for now but it may end up being up for trade later, at least Zemo and Tigershark probably will be as I think I might just keep Radioactive Man
