I see what you did there.

Guess no one wants to taste the rainbow.

Perhaps Marvel did get the FF license back? and they couldn't announce it at SDCC because it isn't finalized like dot the i's cross the t's kind of thing?

MUfan97 07-23-2017 10:11 PM

Hey, could you please help me fact check real quick? Working up a little rant on this SDCC debacle(might not share it here since it's all stuff that we on the forum know, but I don't want this to be the only place anybody ever talks about it), and obviously, accuracy is essential.

I seem to recall Dwight implying that 3 3/4 inch collectors weren't "real collectors" or something like that, but I can't recall WHERE he said that. I don't feel like digging through old interviews, so if anybody remembers off the top of their head, that would be appreciated.

Il Cattivo 07-23-2017 10:45 PM

both marvel and fox can use the skrulls.

and fox is doing a doctor doom movie. not kidding.

Let's look at the F4 track record:
Never seen the 90s movie but I haven't heard good things
The 2005 movie and it's sequel had some decent moments and the Surfer himself was pretty good (Doug Jones seriously does not get enough credit for his awesomeness) but overall were pretty lame.
Then there was Fant4stic...think we can all agree the less said the better.

Now if there had been let's say 2 really solid F4 movie THEN we could talk a solo Dr. Doom movie. Having said that however if I see a trailer and it just absolutely blows me away I'll happily eat my words but as of now I'm just going to go about my business and keep pretending there haven't been any F4 movies let alone movies with Dr. Doom being dragged kicking and screaming through the mud. One of Marvel's greatest villains deserves better than this damn it!

Tbh, the only way to save the FF is to give them over to the MCU. I actually have a full idea on how they could actually make it work really well, but the MCU needs to nab them first.

I guess for now, we'll just have to suffice with the Incredibles.

Il Cattivo 07-23-2017 11:15 PM

after what marvel did with daredevil, punisher and ghost rider I think its just an ego thing at this point. they'd rather lose even more money - and that last ff movie lost them a lot of money - than give the rights back to marvel.

edit:

punisher and GR weren't owned by fox but still..

ukmu 07-24-2017 01:02 AM

...not even a day after SDCC and the only thing we have to talk about are FF4 movies. Didn't see that coming.

Doom is perhaps THE ultimate Marvel villain. He's not a mutant, he's not an alien, he's not a robot, he's not a mad scientist, he's not an ex-con looking to punish society, he's not cultist leader, he's not an evil general. He has no super powers.
He is just a billionaire, genius, playboy philanthropist with diplomatic immunity and a tendency for world domination who hosts an army of super tech robotic warriors and dabbles in the dark arts of mysticism for fun.

Potential Spoilers

Rumour mill....

Spider-Man Homecoming 2 may have Morbius and Blade in it... Just carrying on the cinematic discussion as we've no toys to speak of. Also, the Inhumas tv show I really want to be good, just got a feeling it will start and end well enough but just drag on in the middle setting everything up.

Il Cattivo 07-24-2017 02:49 AM

as a cameo to introduce him to the mcu? sure why not. but I want him on netflix. 8 episodes like the punisher.

Alien Marines
Rainbow Deadpool (yuck)
Thor 2 packs
Acid Rain
Star Wars
Powerlords (maybe first waves were 4 inch but these might be 6)
Reaction

Was that it? Did Hasbro have the last wave of Jessica Jones and Goldtron there?
Did Funko have any new 9 POA figures?

The only figures in our scale that were shown were the Thor 2 packs that have been shown previously and the rainbow dead pools that were kind of thrown in last minute with no word of whether or not they were a multipack exclusive or whatever. 3.75 was not even mentioned at all during the panel this year.

Some interview with Stall it was mentioned that the Rainbow crap was made to present to a merchant who wanted an exclusive but the "feedback" was so good, Hasbro decided to make it generally available.

They only good part of that sentence is that some merchant wanted a 3.75" Marvel exclusive.

Hey folks! Happy Monday! So here's my next wave of MU customs and single figures. As usual, please don't hesitate to send me a PM if you have any questions about any of these guys.

First up is a custom Magneto. This guy was one of my first customs ever back in the day and I think that despite my newbie paint work he still holds up really well.

Magneto's auction can be found by clicking here.

Next is my custom Jim Lee style Beast from the Marvel Legends Showdown line. This guy is basically a repaint of the grey Beast, mainly because I couldn't deal with the face sculpt they used on the official release of the blue one.

Beast's auction can be found by clicking here.

I've also got a Frost Giant from the annoyingly rare Wal-Mart exclusive release.

The Frost Giant's auction can be found by clicking here.

And finally I've got a Destroyer from the original Thor line. This guy can actually scale with Universe OR Legends. Personally I think he looks perfect alongside MU figures.

I was hoping to see at SDCC a 3.75 movie Hela and maybe Valkirye, but nothing. Now I'm just cheering to see an 3.75 movie thanos next year.
All I have is hope rsrs
Is been hard be a 3.75 collector.
I was hoping to make something like the picture below but if it's hard an 3.75 avengers movie collection a 3.75 justice league movie collection is been impossible.

Even worse.... white guy with dreds! Nah, I don't know anything about it other than Feige has been talking to Miramax about (presumably) acquiring him. The buzz is for Morbius as the rogue gallery is beginning to get a bit thin. I mean it is perhaps, the deepest villain pool for creators to use for films. After six films with 2 villains per film they have to start getting a bit more creative.

Taking pics in a few hours. So pretty excited about that.

Sorry Will, he will be 6" as well. You Can't have Hela, Thanos or Gamora cinematic figures...... but you can have a yellow Deadpool though. Or purple....or green....or blue. You will have to supply your own guns for them though.

Was checking to see if the Sinister Six set went down anymore(it's down to $50), and found a listing for a case of the next wave. It's not by Amazon themselves, and the shipping reflects that, but hopefully this wave will see more of a widespread release.

Pilkster 07-24-2017 12:32 PM

I saw on facebook someone has picked up the thor/hulk and enchantres and skurge from TRU. they were put out early and they let him buy them due to their error and put back the rest

3.75" Thanos head I'm currently working on shrinking. Hopefully it will fit onto a 5" figure to customize. Wish me luck!

^can't wait to see it.

Foreddyn 07-25-2017 08:48 AM

I'm torn between buying the new boxset of Sinister Six or getting the older version of Kraven. On one hand, I'd save more and on the other, I actually prefer the sculpt of the older version.
