its on my to-do list to get each of those repainted one day.

Someone, sorry I forget who exactly, on the 3.75" thread did a kick-ass upgrade to Onslaught's paint that really makes him pop. I'm way too lazy to bother doing anything myself but it goes to show how much Hasbro could have elevated the figure with some additional effort.

Uh no, sorry, I'm not going to get up and go to the other end of my apartment just to check something that I should be able to look up online much easier.

Funny how people are like, "If you want to know, google it." Then when you do just that, "Don't google it, buy a book to get your information."

TheBlueMarvel 07-19-2017 01:49 PM

I've never told you to 'Google' anything. You are confusing me with the others that poke fun at you...I speak to you very rarely.

Edited for correct...it's early. I'm more awake than my mind is.

Thanks for heads up on the A-Force pack!

Note: The Netflix and Thor Wave, and the ML12inch Hulk is out already?..My wallet can only take so much of this...Lol!

I didn't mean you specifically, I just meant people in general. lol

Plus the A-force and SDCC team-packs. Truer words were never spoken.

Captain Nash 07-19-2017 02:48 PM

At least it appears we'll get some kind of break after the Thor stuff hits. As much as I want more and more, I agree, the last 3 years, including 2017, have been expensive. I don't know if I'd rather have more money and less product, or more product and less money.

TheBlueMarvel 07-19-2017 02:50 PM

I'm actually ready ($) for SDCC this year...

Oh I'm ready for that stuff it's just if more comes along after it! Thor wave/SDCC wave/A Force....that's a good $400 with tax/shipping IF you can get it at MSRP...I really want that stuff but I kind of don't want to think about it either.

Also I did get my Dark PHoenix pack yesterday. Glorious. Not much space here at all so in the box she and Cyclops went but it looks like I got a good painted version. Can't wait to match it up with my Marvel Select phoenix effect.

redfox 07-19-2017 03:15 PM

Hmmm, does anyone else remember some Hydra 2-pack that was rumored a few months back?? Maybe we'll see it at SDCC, too.

Ugh, I remember passing on that Phoenix Select awhile back. I was at a LCS that was moving, and they were trying to push as much merch as they could before they left. I remember holding it in my hands and passing on it because it was the variant version. This is my greatest shame...:(

Yeah, I may wait for the MCU Hulk wave. I'm sure that sounds a little weird since I've been talking about "Hulk-Foot" for like...forever. I just ordered my Man Thing wave and it should arrive some time next week, so I'm only shooting for the Thor SDCC pack and A-force set...we'll see.

...congrats on Phoenix! Thought you'd be back in your regular digs by now...

Ha that was the plan. Building a new house from scratch takes time. Hopefully within the year I'll have a nice display room. I won't be using photobucket! LOL

Yah venopool is kick ass. Id have loved to get that sdcc set but life ate up that money id set aside so now, like a satana, its just a pipe dream.

Captain Nash 07-19-2017 04:54 PM

Wait what am I missing? The SDCC Team pack? what is this madness? It's no the Thor and not the A-Force set? What is it???

[QUOTE=TheBlueMarvel;717474]Buy copies of The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: Deluxe Edition, or, at the very least, The Marvel Encyclopedia before quoting 'official' stats. Apparently, Marvel's website can't be bothered to source its own published repositories of information...pretty much says everything you need to know about Marvel's current state.

This in a nutshell! Back in the 80s, Marvel came out with the "OFFICIAL" handbook of the Marvel universe with listed hgts & wgts, strength levels, fighting abilities, etc of all their marvel characters. Why in the hell would they do this & then allow their artist to take artistic license with their listed hgts and Make 6 foot characters like the Thing an 8ft giant now & the Hulk a 9ft giant when he was originaly 6'6 in Grey form and 7ft in Green form? Juggs was always listed at 6'10 and now also a 9 footer. Thanos is originally 6'7 now also drawn Hulk sized. It's like these artists of the last 10-15yrs or so seem to think that drawing them giant sized conveys more power because Thanos can't be a god like being at just 6'7, he has to be drawn Hulk sized. Same for Juggs, cuz at 6'10 that ain't big enough. I guess Superman should be drawn as being a 7 footer as well cuz how can such a small being at a mere 6'3 be so powerful? Thor is 6'6 but Hasbro has also giant sized him to 7 inch+ scale which is why I have bought zero figures of him from Hasbro. Same for the Wrecking crew , T-Ball at 6'6 is the tallest member, but yet, Hasbro put the entire crew on that Gawd awful Warpath buck making them 8ft giants. I bought none of them. Some of you may not care that your figures hgt scale is all over the place, but I for one do care & I hate that not only in the comics but in plastic form, that way too many characters are being done in the wrong scale.

Look at the great artists of the 70s-80s , they always did their very best to adhere to the listed hgts of the characters they drew. Perez & Byrne were 2 of the best at drawing Marvel/DC characters at their listed comic book hgts.

Darksied was always listed around 7ft in the DC character guide that also came out in the 80s, now he's like a 10ft giant.

And if Marvel is basing their hgts for Hulk on what the MCU is doing, that's even worse cuz the MCU & the comics should be kept separate universes. But since hardly no kids bother to read comics nowadays & get all their marvel "knowledge" from the movies, that's a losing battle.

All good, as long as Hasbro keeps making characters in the wrong scale, I won't buy em. The upcoming Walgreens Thing figure is gonna be a no buy as I predict he will also be done on some 7 inch scaled buck.

The Hasbro BAF Ronan wave Thing figure is the perfect scale & build for Thing, the head sculpt is the only "thing", pun intended, that I feel could have been done better.

Thank you sir, that was me. I wanted to see how the Red Ninja looks like scale wise next to DD. Looks good to me as Japanese men are smaller hgt wise on avg than American men & DD is listed as a 6 footer so that Ninja looks like he would be 5'10 or so.

I'm waiting on my AI order to arrive and will be looking forward to having DD throw down with a HAND Ninja on many occasions.
