When the Hasbro Panel said Marvel Universe will be easier to come by,will they be re-releasing older waves, and what waves do you guys reckon they will re stock?the HMP live feed was a little bit cryptic on that particular statement.

I think thats just the panel, with their typical non-commital answers, they say they will be easier to find, and then immediately say "next question"...

you could always try customise a "treebeard" figure if you can find one, that might work well.though the face would need a major overhaul.

Send Jesse Falcon a message on Facebook, let him know how you feel.Might do some good.

When I get that X-Men set with Emma Frost, the Colossus/Juggernaut is going to be a giveaway.

I personally think that is the dumbest idea in years.

thanks guys. Shortys, these are in the bedroom too...ooooh...lol :) I still need to put up shelves and toss up SDCC Galactus and Sentinel, box sets, etc...it was kinda a trade off...she gets to put up her Star Trek stuff and I get my Marvel. Stuff. Next year when we buy a new house, she said I could get a office/den area for my "nerd-cave" LOL

In conjunction with my MU collection, I want to add in many Marvel CGC Comics. I took Peteparker's advice and bought a couple of those comic holder frames that he suggested.

I almost did exactly that but...it's just an insane rebuild.
YOu could maybe use the arms and legs but the face and head would need to be a total resculpt.

Iceman 07-14-2012 08:52 PM

Still a bunch of great figures yet to hit stores and be added to my collection. I don't see how people can be so negative on a weekend like this. We've been dealing with most of these issues for a while and it won't ruin my fun with this hobby. Look at the Legends fans even after that went away they had fun and eventually came back. We already have so many great figures and more coming. Need me that Prof. X right diddy. And I never thought I would be doing the Marvel subscription but Old Man Logan may have just put me over the edge.

It could also mean better case ratios like we've seen with the upcoming Jubilee, Professor X, and Blastaar wave from the listings.

Agree; Some comic covers are so brilliant!

Agree; Groot in three pack was a cop-out

MAJOR AGREE; OLD Man Logan is balls to the walls! Like I said previously one of my favorite story arcs (all time). If you havnt read this story (only 7 books), do so now, I know that its on the digi sub! Its so raw, I actually made a custom based off OML's likeness seen here:

Two points, first I think anyone saying that what they've announced for 2013 means MU is gathering steam is just fooling themselves. look at the listings of releases by year. What we know is coming is less than than normal.

My second point is that the announced single card releases for 2013 are Rhino, Elecktra and Mysterio. That means that even to complete 1 wave there has to be something planned they are not showing us.

So yes, it's slower than it was. So what? there's great product coming and still more we don't know. If it ends tomorrow or ten years from now can't we be happy with the joy it brought us ?

Well said. And even those 3 aren't formally announced for 2013. Pretty much all signs point to "we have a backlog of figures, so we're usng the excuse to show off legends for SDCC, then MU for NYCC when it's closer to 2013 itself."

The subscription figure makes me think we're pretty safe though. What would be the point in having such an awesome figure to push digital subscriptions on the fans if the line itself was going away. If that were the case, you'd think the subscription figure would be an ML figure.

Veronica Mars 07-14-2012 09:14 PM

Alrighty, this thread moved over 10 pages since I left for work this morning, I'm gonna toss my two cents into the discussion on the poor showing at the con.

It's really not all that surprising if you think about it. At the moment there are 5 waves of Marvel Universe waiting to be released, meanwhile the new ML line is just starting out, it makes sense that Hasbro would let MU hold it's own with the waves we're waiting on while trying to gain momentum with ML. We all know the likelihood of the waves hitting month after month is just not likely, however it's quite possible enough MU stuff will be out in time for us to see some more new stuff at NYCC in Nov/Dec

Less than usual? I dont think so....unless you mean less Wolverine figures- we only have one coming instead of the FOUR from prior years.
Spidey is still holding steady at four per year, unfortunately.

I think your first point is just natural progression though. Things slow done in lines like this once the most popular characters get done a bunch. Less figures is fine as long as figures keep coming.

Maybe waves will only be 3 or 4 figures sometimes going forward. Clearly they have other stuff in the works but it would be nice to at least know about it. Maybe they thought since we have so many new figures to buy over the next few months we would be happy.
