Venompool, Spider-punk, Gwenpool? Wow, 3 wasted slots right off the bat. A newly sculpted "Wearwolf by night" head on the Jackal buck would have been 100% preferable for Blade or Moonkight to hunt along with Morbius. With the Havok all Black buck, a Masters of evil Blackout would have required just a new headsculpt. A classic Mac Gargan Scorpion woulda been way more appreciated and wanted than a Spider-punk figure. I'm telling ya, people today will demand a figure of a monkey dressed as Spiderman if he made an apprearance in a "what if" Spiderman was a turned into a monkey? one shot. It continues to blow my mind at how many people continue to ask for more useless versions of Spiderman than re-dos of much needed classic Spiderman villians such as Scorpion, Mysterio, Doc Ock, Lizard, Kingpin, Vulture & even Stegron would be more preferable than a Spider-punk or Gwenpool. The only 2 versions of Peter Parker as Spiderman that I will ever have in my collection are of him in his classic duds & him in his Secret wars Black suit. A collection of different Ironman armors in action figure form is legit because Stark built numerous different armors in the comics. An "Ironman vault of Armor" boxset featuring 7 of the most famous armors that IM wore from the late 60s till the damn MCU took over comics would be awesome. Armors could consist of:

Classic 1st app Grey armor
Classic Bronze age yellow/red armor with alternate pointy mask helmet
Space armor
Deep sea armor
Stealth armor
Silver Centurian armor
Heroes reborn Armor

Add a comic version of Stark headsculpt in a suit & that is a surefire seller.

And don't nobody come on here saying that wouldn't sell like hotcakes. Cuz when Hasbro goes and makes a boxset of all female figures, most of which nobody outside of comic book readers even recognizes outside of SheHulk, then an all classic Ironman armors boxset will blow that outta the water.

Pretty much. That was all that was needed to bring to figure form the armor Tony wore shortly after Armor Wars and the character's stint in West Coast Avengers. The pictured armor is a sleeker version of that Epic Heroes Iron Man fig and serves as an interpretation of the armor that followed the tech's appearance in the books. My irritation is that if Hasbro can get little nuances like that right, how do they screw up Ghost Rider's bike so badly? Not the bike itself, I have no problem with that...outside of Vengeance's bike, I can't recall a Ghost Rider hell-cycle having such a wild design.

************************************************** **************************************************

...on another note. My Man Thing wave arrived today. Man Thing is up there with Hulk Buster in terms of coolest Hasbro BAF IMO...the toadstools on the thigh are well executed accents...a little more variation in the paint apps and it would have been Hasbro's best BAF to date. Blade? My new favorite Marvel Legends figure hands down...nuff said. Bullseye is cool, but if you're going to provide multiple hands, Hasbro, make one set fists. We're talking about superheroes and supervillains here... I'm still waiting for fists for Namor; please correct that with this rumored Namor slotted for release...and a set of non-babyhand fists for Wonder Man would be nice too...WTF. The rest of the Netfix wave is mostly just 'there' for me. All are solid, but the Jon head will be cycled to goon bodies and replaced with a 'real' Frank head and the rest will get sold/traded/or serve some other purpose...If anyone wants to trade for/buy a Netflix DD, hit me up.

Parademon1 07-22-2017 11:10 AM

Like I had stated before, I don't buy figures of actors cosplaying as Marvel comics characters. Gimme classic MU 616 comic accurate action figures any day of the week over action figures of actors/actresses.

I agree that Hasbro has to make sure they include fist hands for characters that like to punch people such as Namor & Bullseye do.

Only the first part was directed at you...

Well, I'm glad so many of you chuckleheads dislike Gwenpool. It'll be easier for the rest of us who aren't fuddy-duddies to get her. :D

redfox 07-22-2017 11:18 AM

Yeah, I'm really surprised at how much I starting to like the Gwenpool figure. She even comes with a cute little penguin backpack to hold her katanas!!:p

Captain Nash 07-22-2017 12:03 PM

Having got and opened my A-Force set, I have to say I'm extremely pleased with it (distribution plan aside of course as it sounds like it will be even more of a pain in the ass to find than originally thought.)

I don't know much about Singularity, but seems seems like an okay figure. The partially translucent look is good and hides any flaws the figure may have. Unfortunately it also hides any highlights it may have. Just a solid figure of someone I know nothing about.

I'm VERY pleased to note that my She Hulk does NOT have the blank stare as seen in the pictures. Maybe it was a a bad shot in the promo or something. Hope it's that way with all of them.

Elsa Bloodstone, don't know too much about her but I think she's a solid figure.

Sif is extremely well detailed. She may be the best sculpt in the set.

Lady Loki (or whatever her name would be) is also well done.

And Spectrum, the main reason I got this set, is extremely well done as well, definitely glad to add her to my collection.

So I give this 5.5 out of 6.

i guess im the minority. i like all the different spider-man figures from teh "spider-verse" storyline. i also would like more villians though too.

i feel we could do without alot of the newer third tier characters that are new and only have a slight following as opposed to classic villians and more wanted heros.

Yes! I am still waiting on my Count Nefaria, Graviton, Wizard, Morgan Le Fay, Maximus, Attuma, Titania, Sin and (this one probably IS third tier but anyways) Crimson Cowl. All of these have been around at least 20 years some of them closer to 40-50. And now I guess Executioner. And that is without even getting into the X-villains where there's a whole slew of them.

That said is Hasbro wants to make a figure of every character from the Black Order (comic or MCU) I will buy them.

I remember there also being something of a controversy to Songbird winning that fan poll, with allegations of ballot stuffing similar to what the Black Series wave experienced with Jaina Solo vs. Starkiller last year. Songbird was definitely not one that I voted for, or saw winning that poll, that's for sure...

The design on the front of the forks looks really silly IMO. I’m fairly certain the bike is entirely new - I'm proud of you Hasbro, you actually spent money to make something new, but then you promptly botched it up with that silly hotwheels design...had it been translucent and intended as a fire construct, I might've been persuaded, but as is, it's just a goofy concept. The new bike is more of a Harley design, whereas the old Toy Biz was a chopper with ‘ape hanger’ handlebars and high back-rest seat. Not to mention, this new bike is actually scaled to fit the new Ghost Rider fig, while the old TB one is too small for the Aim/Star-Lord/Ghost Rider mold.

There are certain elements though to the bike that causes me to believe that it's a kitbashed/retooled version of the old ToyBiz bikes. The engine parts look nearly identical to the TB GR bike, while the body and frame look nearly identical to the old Toybiz Wolverine Mutant Cycle from the X-Men Evolution line, right down to the mirrors, spokes on the wheels, and removable winshield.

Of course, this might have to do with motorcycles tending to look similar altogether than anything. I don't believe though that this is an entirely new design though...Hasbro has access to a lot of those old Toybiz molds, so it wouldn't surprise me if they found something in a box and said, "Hey...there's still money to be made here..."

I'm with you though, I don't like the new GR bike one bit. I have a love for the old TB one, and I modded mine just a bit so that the current Johnny fits a little better on it (I also use it for the Nick Cage GR figure, which outside the tiny ball hips, might still be my favorite GR figure.) The bike has a certain goofy 70's flair that fits in perfectly with the character. That could be my age and the rose colored glasses I'm wearing though more than anything.

EDIT: I got ninja'd. Anyway, yeah, winning a fan poll gets a figure made.

That's what happens when ballots are stuffed.

Sometimes, all you have to do is be on the fan poll to get the figure. You don't even have to win. There were a couple of figures that have been made these past two years if memory serves me correctly that were on prior fan polls, but failed to get out of their respective brackets. Symbiote Spidey, Kid Nova, Sif, Nebula, Ulik, Malekith and Darkhawk were all characters that we got this past year that appeared on the ballot years prior.

We'll see if that trend continues if Mysterio and Lasher (which have been rumored on several "leaked" lists) get announced tonight for future waves. Throw in Typhoid Mary or Scream on that list (Scream has also been rumored) as a surprise and I'll be one hell of a happy camper.

Dude your list is a dream roster of characters alot of NON comic book people would know nothing of lol

Im honestly pretty suprized. Alot of characters I wanted including the ones that have NOT been used for sometime have had a figure made.

Machine man
Death's head II
Man Thing BAF
Tiger shark

There's others but i can't think of them off the top of my head.

If i recall correctly, didn't songbird SOMEHOW beat out Terror inc? I recall voting for terror as well.

Yes! That IronMan I'm in!..Overall, I think Hasbro is doing a good job of satisfying the past, middle, and present fan of Marvel and Marvel legends...Movie figures for Thor and Black Panther and the current Spiderman movie and Netflix...Love for the comic figure collectors with the DeadPool wave...And new school, like Gwenpool and Spiderpunk...Like I said in some previous post, Hasbro is all over the map with character selection, but at the same time trying to cater to all fans of Marvel who collect Marvel...I think they are doing a great job, if this is Hasbro's business model...

Glad to see you got this, and glad that they all scored so high with the sculpt and paintwork. I'm really hoping that these are just a timed exclusive, and that they'll be realeased either online or retail sometime in the coming months.

Apparently the character was created for the A-Force series so she's one of those new characters that has mostly gone under the radar unless you've read every book she's been in. She's a walking quantum singularity (basically like a black hole) so her powers are mostly related to that. Basically she has Cloak's powers but turned up to 11.

Elsa Bloodstone is the daughter of Ulysses Bloodstone (the original Bloodstone) and as such inherited some of his powers. Her powers are pretty much just being strong and tough but like her father she's a skilled hunter and weapon-master.

Out of 6, why are you using such a weird scale?! I jest of course but it is seriously strange to see a review scale not using 5 or 10.

I'd be surprised if that were the case given that this new bike is a Harley while the old TB series 7 bike is distinctly a Chopper. It's significantly larger than the TB s7 Ghost Rider bike. The engine block has slight differences, the gas tank is larger, the fender is wider (as is the front wheel, naturally), the handle bars aren't at all the same ("ape hangers" on s7 + no mirror), and the seat is totally different. Additionally, the new Ghost Rider fig nearly doesn't fit onto the old TB Hell Cycle. That was most of the reason for my exaggerated pose when I first photoed it in the shared pics. Now if you are comparing it to Wolverine's Legendary Rider bike, then that's a slightly different story. I can't speak for the Wolverine bike, I never got around to buying that accessory (I have the variant fig only). However, after looking at a few pics of that bike, I also doubt it's that one because that bike does in fact share many parts with s7 bike. In the off chance that Hasbro up-scaled old molds of parts of the TB s7 Hell-Cycle/Legendary Riders bike to fit a larger figure frame...that strikes me as a bit counterintuitive and in that scenario it would make more sense to create a new bike since the cost of the process would be similar...but whatever, we'll see eventually. No bigge.

Source? Pics?

Not really Marvel Legends related, but has anyone seen the trailer for "Ready Player One?" Jimeny Crickets...there is like a cameo or Easter egg of just about everything in there. I saw Harley and Deadpool, Scorponok (Transformers) Freddy Krueger, Duke Nukem, The Iron Giant, the Delorean from Back to The Future, the motorcycles from Tron (possibly Akira) the ostrich riders from Joust....that trailer had more cameos than Infinity War will...

There's a pic floating around, but it's all watermarked. The fig is basically Scarlet Spider Head + Superior Venom Body/Back Tendrils + Lasher Paint Scheme. Not too inspired, but I've never been too crazy about symbiotes.

Are you talking about the Venompool figure?

Anyway, about time they release a comic version of Iron Man. I've been wanting to replace my AoU one since I got it.
