Actually, the Marvel Customs thread is better for what you have in mind. And there are no scale rules for that thread, regardless of what's already been posted there.

General discussion, like tips, techniques, questions, etc. should go in the Customs GD forum.

Is it ok to have a scale specific thread? So it's basically this one, but discussion of non-Hasbro yet still Marvel 3.75'' related talk is ok.

To break up the political jargon for a sec.. is anyone finding ANY of the MU waves 20 and on at either Target, WM, or TRU? If so, a location perhaps? I'm just not finding crap for single carded MU anywhere here and I hit 3-4 target/Walmarts in a given week..

bmorr 03-19-2013 01:57 PM

All i've seen it so far is Wal-mart and the Disney Store. My TRU's restocking/delivery day is tomorrow so i'm gonna go check there.

fosterlager 03-19-2013 02:00 PM

Nothing yet for me at B&M for wave 20. Or the new 3-packs.

Torpedo 03-19-2013 05:52 PM

Last week I found a solitary Nighthawk figure at a Wal-Mart on the outskirts of the KC metro area that I rarely visit. There were other, older Marvel Universe figures on the pegs, but no sign of the rest of the wave. Needless to say, I bought Nighthawk right away, but I'm still looking for Nova, Hercules, Angel, and Puck. I checked a few other stores since then and nothing. I still need Professor X too!

I haven't seen any of the new team three-packs either, and I really want the West Coast Avengers pack.

Jackieboy 03-20-2013 04:20 AM

the nova wave is scheduled for general release on the 27th over this side of the pond, lets see what happens there.apparently we might not even see the 3 packs.

Customs threads (aside from the Marvel forums one) should be one thread per custom in one of the Customs forums (Completed or WIP, as appropriate). Officially licensed Marvel products in the 3.75" are fine here, whether they were made by Hasbro or not.

This may have been discussed already, but the new legs/hips for the iron man 3 figures are hideous, makes me feel like i'm buying dollar store knock offs.

Yeah, I am so disappointed in the IM3 figures. The IM2 3.75" line was awesome and I highly recommend picking up leftover IM2 figures that can be found at discount stores (TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Ross) versus the IM3 figures.

quinten182 03-20-2013 12:30 PM

He has new stuff back up again. Nova, Black Bolt, Mockingbird, Rogue, etc. Though the last 2 are 20 and 25 bucks.. the Nova and Black Bolt were instant grabs for me. They only come to 28 total together, not bad.

IM3 Assemblers are pretty fun if you put in a little bit of work (and a couple of revoltech joints) into them. The hip design is surprisingly not so bad on them and allows for a pretty decent range of movement out of the box (even more if dremel them out so they function like ball joints). Decent paint jobs and swivel hinge shoulder joints make them way more salvageable than the other 3.75 IM3 p.o.s.'s:

Toys where you have to work for the fun.

kylactus 03-20-2013 06:26 PM

That looks pretty damn cool, I still think I hate the line, but you really made gold out of crap here.

You're not. They're just always out of stock of most/all of them at any given moment.

redx24 03-20-2013 07:02 PM

You sir have successfully polished a turd. It's a shame that that much work had to be done to give a figure basic articulation.

Kudos to you for the great job and shame on Hasbro.

mikefavata 03-20-2013 07:11 PM

And there's no reason they couldn't have made the legs like the shoulder joints. They could still have the part swapping gimmick while not using the t-crotch.

Pray tell, why?

redx24 03-20-2013 09:12 PM

locally marvel u is pretty much dried up except for a lcs selling at ridonkulous prices. im3 figs suck, spiderman lines all suck. Hasbro had lifted their figures to great levels but now seem to try any gimmick except articulaton for most its lines.

mikefavata 03-20-2013 09:46 PM

I've mostly given up on stores and just pre-order everything. I want to see the Avengers Assemble figures in person though. Should be only a month or so away.

who needs stores when you have some people online who will genuinely help you out.thats pretty much what most people do nowadays.
just stay away from the "Capitalist" members and you should be okay ;)
