I don't know if Shreck was up for just moments on GS, or not at all (someone on another site claimed to have ordered it), but the page only comes up on the app, not online.

Edit: It's visible now, but still says Not Available.

Comedian 09-19-2025 09:43 AM

Well look at that…Tim Burton stuff is popular….now for the sports and weather.

I secured everything except for Max.

Whether by crowdfund or retail an ‘89 wave has to happen.

DubCheezy 09-19-2025 09:52 AM

Seriously sold out everywhere in less than 10 minutes? I don't even know why I bother trying to collect figures anymore.

Gamestop still has the main three.

Thank You! I was able to order all 3. I seriously considered the Duckmobile but 99 bucks is a bit too steep.
Gamestop has bot protection which explains why they were still in stock. Seriously scalpers try to ruin everything.

IzzyTipsy 09-19-2025 10:26 AM

$43 dollars at Gamestop for Catwoman all told.

Man, I don't like it, but it's piece of mind, I guess.

Well, they ruined Shreck for most of us! No way should he have sold out so fast, especially with the link not working for 15 minutes. I'm not even sure you'll see him go up on WM and Target's websites, so I'm resigned to having to go to ebay for him. Hopefully he'll be priced similar to Batman Begins Scarecrow.

Comedian 09-19-2025 12:49 PM

I can’t see Max going to high….but it is Cristopher Walken.

Fun side note….in 1999, the height of the awesome toy collecting…Mcfarlane was exploding with Movie Maniacs and other film licenses, big then was Sleepy Hollow. Todd McFarlane and Tim Burton did a toy signing in NYC….i believe Toysrus…I tried desperately to get there but was still a teenager. Anyway I read first hand accounts on the spawn forum…that a fan suggested Tim Burton direct a Spawn film, they just smiled at each other, and another fan looked at his headless horseman with Cristopher Walken head figure and said man we need a Max Shreck figure, Todd would do awesome Batman figures. And here we go.

The prophecy is fulfilled.

EvilMonkeyPope 09-19-2025 01:00 PM

Thanks to Todds making him an arbitrarily limited Red Platinum figure & Gamestop's janky website, I cruelly denied ordering Max Shreck. This has no pardon!

Boogieman4hire 09-19-2025 01:21 PM

What a shit show. Couldn't even get the penguin commandos or Max Shreck. All I could get was the duck set because no one else wanted to bite at the price of $100.

ThorOdinson123 09-19-2025 02:02 PM

Another reason I cant wait till todd is done his shitty low number preorders/shitty distribution

Batman 09-19-2025 02:16 PM

I ordered Batman, Catwoman, Penguin and The commandos. I might get Max at some point but @ over $50 each after tax in Canada I’m already $200 in.

Mattel will never do the film figures he did. Never.

They actually did before McFarlane did albeit most were under 7 inch scale

Luckily got Catwoman preordered through GameStop. I'll put in the work to find the others when they hit, but I couldn't risk missing out on Selina.

Got them all. They could never stick to one scale. They will never go as deep as he did if they do, I will gladly eat my hat and have this post thrown at me in the future, but I don’t see it. Only Todd has given us so many films in the same scale. If he can just get 89, some more west stuff in 7” and Suicide squad, then I can go quietly into the night. This is my last ride for DC toys. Plus with the coming purchase of WB who knows what the new owners will allow.

Todd stamping manufacturing info on the exclusive Penguin Commandos' rocket packs is Mattel-level half-assery.

That is one thing I'd like to see if Todd could continue to do more figures like this, given that he owns DC Direct/DC Collectibles even after Mattel reacquires the license. If he can still create more figures like this under the DC Direct banner, I wouldn't mind, as it would allow him to produce more characters & movie characters, even if it means smaller waves, such as Page Puncher & Digital Waves. I'd be down for that. In the same way that Hasbro did Marvel Legends and Diamond Select did Marvel Select before Diamond went under. Even though I wasn't a fan of the Schumacher films, I did find it neat that McFarlane did two BAF waves for them. I don't personally own those for the same reason I don't have any of the Studio Series figures for the Bayformers movies. In both cases, the movies were so awful that I don't personally want merch from them. I would like to see McFarlane do a Lanterns, Woman of Tomorrow, and The Brave & The Bold wave, even if they are just Digital Waves. It's hard to say what the future holds. If the fact that McFarlane Toys owns DC Collectibles only means they're allowed to do those statues and nothing else, then that would be disappointing, but expected.

Good news. Pre-orders for Batman and Penguin are back on GameStop. I hope I get a shot at the rest when they come out. Now to sit back and listen to some Sophie B. Hawkins.

Maybe I'm stupid, but the whole 'Mattel will never make that' is nonsense to me.
I get why we might think that.
But after losing the DC license, then watching what McF has been doing (both hits and misses) and then factoring in the success of all the He-man revival stuff... we think WB and Mattel just sat around and said to each other, "lets go back to the way it was in 2018"?
Mattel lost the DC license in 2018, the crowd funding Mattel Creations debuted in 2023.
Logic and reason and the last 5 years of action figures collectibles = more than likely Mattel wants to, and will, up their game with DC license.

The irony is NOW in 2024-2025 McF is showing some cool stuff, and I have to keep telling myself to NOT buy it because I want to see what Mattel does later.
(Jeez, McF since 2018? it took McF 6 years to finally make anything that I personally thought was worth my dollars?? I'm nobody, but still...)

Im less worried about who they will or won't make more worried every remotely obscure character will become a Matty collector exclusive

Dolemite 09-22-2025 07:59 AM

Why do this? What's the point? For the Godzilla figure to be to scale it'd have to be like 10-15 feet tall.
