Yeah, but that just makes it cover more of the backwall, right?

I guess, but I just mean they're designed based off the walls of the Death Star corridors as they appeared in A New Hope, and the details are scaled for 6-inch figures. If you use 3.75-inch figures, they might look short.

Han appears to have contracted syphilis. Poor guy.

Everyone used to wonder why his partner was called "Chewie."

Bo Ttef 02-28-2017 04:17 PM

Just made the swap to Figuarts on Han- was suprised with how well he scaled- usually the figuarts tend to be smaller but he is just as large (and wider) than the Hasbro figure. His face is a bit splotchy, and I actually think Hasbro did a better job on his blaster- but an amazing figure all around. (the blotchy face seems pretty standard across the board- mine isn't terrible but it's easy enough to fix if it bothers me... like Luke's Gold Hair- uhg! )

keep checking their site (Galactictradingpost.com) they are making 3.75 scale walls and 12in scale walls (soon)

Never seen that Leia before. Is that a custom? It kind of reminds me a little of Leia from the Hildebrandt poster.

Anyway, Mafex Captain Phasma finally came out...longest pre-order wait period for me lol. My figure shipped yesterday and should be arriving this Thursday.

It's a custom using Funko GoT Daenyrys (if I'm spelling that right).

Augustus_Cole 03-06-2017 01:40 PM

i ordered a case of figs and don't want most..
is anyone interested in wave 5: at-at driver, princess leia, obi-wan kenobi ??

GunslingerKatet 03-09-2017 10:06 AM

Hi, I'm new to this so not sure where to post this but, the Disney store has the Elite die cast figs for about $8.00 after discounts.

So far I've only purchased one Black Series figure. Overall, very disappointed with the quality of the figures. My old 3 3/4 figures had way better paint and plastics.

Yeah, I guess I'd kind of agree with that...but the trade off is better sculpts, proportions and articulation.

Is it anything like Marvel Legends? 'Cause I personally found the figures that I tried with that line to be a bit too flimsy for the price. Plus, all of the joints were way tighter than the plastic quality should've allowed.

yeah, that was the look i was going for- well, that and i hate the overuse of softgoods so wanted a leia that didn't look like she was stuffed in oversized doll clothes....

I don't know if there are good sculpts truthfully. The paint is just so bad it's hard to tell. A lot of the figures look nothing like the actors who portray them.

It is, but way worse. Marvel Legends has actually begun to improve, and their paint apps are way better. All Black series figures are just shiny plastic (which I hate that Hasbro uses, makes everything look cheap) with paint slapped on the face.

I was so excited when a 6 inch line was announced, since that's the scale I collect in now, only for this to be what we got. Very disheartening :(

I agree that their human figures are brought way down by the lack of effort put into the heads, this is why I mainly try to stick to helmet or alien characters. The Fett figures actually look great for their retail price range (ignoring Jango's face), the Imperial troops are solid all around, and Hasbro actually did Revan's mask right this time. The original 30th anniversary line 3.75" Revan is still one of my personal favorite Star Wars figures but it's always bugged me that they got his mask so clearly wrong. Having said all that I do still pick up a number of human figures with their crummy heads simply because I enjoy the characters and would like them represented in the collection.

Soooo apparently Toy Fair revealed this next wave of 3.75 inch Black series figures...

That I had to jump through a ring of fire, sacrifice a minimum of 3 children, marry a gorilla's daughter, then hope that Galactus would look at me kindly enough to allow me to find any announcements of.

Seriously, I didn't even know about this wave until some YouTube comment told me about it.

I knew about it the whole time but since they're all re-releases I don't really care.

ukmu 03-12-2017 05:44 AM

On another note.....

The 3.75" line of NON EXCLUSIVE WAL-MART Black Series 3.75" aka the 5 POA figures have EXCELLENT sculpts, fantastic paint apps and are readily available to hunt down. I am a BIG fan of the current Hasbro 3.75" 5 POA lines.

Again, we don't have any other Star Wars so the limited articulation does not bother me even slightly. We have other highly articulated 3.75" lines from Hasbro for MARVEL... but for episodes 7, 8 and 9 I have accepted a long time ago, 5 POA is the only way to properly portray the new characters in the 3.75" scale.

Provost likes him some man abs in plastic form!

Even as a kid I thought THAT pose on that poster was odd. Farmboy wizard guy with lite up space sword half naked.... Are there even chicks out there that fancy Luke??!??

Well, Mara Jade did...Until she stopped being canon.

Also, Leia before it became creepy.

MUfan97 03-15-2017 10:33 PM

This kinda comes out of nowhere, but I haven't really seen this discussed anywhere else, so I guess I may as well bring it up:

Am I the only one who finds the lack of a recent Tarkin kinda odd, especially after Rogue One?

http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/...20100620213033

I wouldn't expect anything but a rerelease out of the 3.75 inch Black series, but the 5 POA line and 6 inch Black series seem like something that would be more likely to capitalize on this. Heck, maybe Disney could lend them the digital files they used in Rogue One to create the best Tarkin facesculpt yet.

Bo Ttef 03-21-2017 07:04 PM

New Shiny Phasma came in today-

Some MAFEX/Hasbro comparison shots

http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...psga8zcnwj.jpg
http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...pstvhr6gck.jpg

About the only advantage between the two is that Hasbro Phasma can't sit at a computer console and give up the codes to the shields-
http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...pstw765mtq.jpg

For display I think I'm going to swap the capes and give MAFEX the solid plastic cape-

deecee4 03-22-2017 04:16 AM

Not really much comparison (or competition) between BS and Mafex Phasmas. The Mafex version is superior in just about every way. The closest to Mafex at the moment is the Bandai kit...its roughly half the price but needs some work put into it and in this age of instant gratification thats a tough sell to some people.
And just think, in a couple of months we're all going to have to buy all this stuff all over again since she's going to have a spear in ep.8 :/
