I love her skin tone!

And I opted not to post this next one on my Flickr photostream; it's one of the only poses these damn dolls can manage, but in this case it came across as much more... I dunno... provocative than I'd intended, I guess.

I love how her skin tone came out, though.

Not to side-track the thread, but I just found a loose hand laying in a box of sealed figures I got for xmas and was dumbfounded as to what it could belong to... my daughter got a lot of MH dolls for the holiday and one of them was missing a hand that looks exactly like the one in you pics and like the one I found in the box. :D

Does it look like an MH hand or the hand in the Hellboy photo?!?

It's definitely a MH hand, it was a bit too large for 3 3/4" figures (which is what I collect), and I none of the figures I have has a splayed hand like that one. I've still gotta check it against her doll, but I'm 99.99% sure that's where it came from.

Monte Williams 01-11-2013 04:38 PM

I wish they came with alternate hands; the splayed look is nice (and refreshing; Joe is the focus of my collection, too, so anything but the old trigger-finger grip is an interesting change), but they can't hold a damn thing!

And depending on the skin tone and/or texture, I might be able to tell you whose hand it is.

...which is really, really sad, heh-heh.

Just snapped this one about forty-five minutes ago in my front yard:

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...nterOrton1.jpg

And here's one I took in about thirty seconds this morning:

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...13/CodeRed.jpg

I almost never take indoor photos.

The sad thing is, based on the skin tone, I already know it goes to the Egyptian one. The sadder thing... it's REALLY bugging me that I can't remember her name right now, and I spent sooo much time looking for that one for her.

Monte Williams 01-11-2013 05:00 PM

It's presumably Cleo De Nile, unless you lucked into finding her big sister, Nefera.

I spotted Skelita at Target today, and there went my resolve to abandon Monster High; I didn't like any of the photos I'd seen of her, but in person she's probably my favorite.

Alas, I am broke.

Cleo that's it!

I did happen to find 3 of the new figures last week, I got her Skelita. She'll have to hunt for the others, I couldn't justify spending that kinda money on dolls for her a week or so after xmas.

I didn't know Cleo had a big sister out, I found Skelita, the dragon one, and the one with the wings from the Scaris line.

Monte Williams 01-11-2013 05:19 PM

Winged lass is Rochelle Goyle. She's pretty damned cute.

Yeah, at $20 a pop it's hard to justify buying the damn things.

Do pursue Cleo's sis; she has a unique buck; she's much taller than all the other dolls. Pretty cool doll, all told.

Th0r4z1n3 01-11-2013 05:24 PM

I did read somewhere that they were going to be releasing some figures that were slightly taller than the others that are supposed to be older/adult characters.

I still can't believe how much I know about these damn things lol, it almost feels like I'm the collector, my daughter better love me lol.

Monte Williams 01-11-2013 05:47 PM

At least you have your daughter as an excuse; I got my daughter into it!

Th0r4z1n3 01-11-2013 05:54 PM

As much as I've resisted the urge to collect dolls, I could totally see me getting hooked on these things. If by some chance they ever do a 3 3/4" line I will own them all.

Monte Williams 01-11-2013 05:59 PM

The thing I like least about dolls is the rooted hair. Real doll collectors can do amazing things with it, but I find it frustrating as hell.

LOL I always pick up the newest ones for my daughter when I'm hunting for my own stuff (I save them for holidays, or rewards most of the time instead of just giving them to her)...I always think about a 3 3/4' line and how I would buy them all!!!

Excuse the crappy quality of my camera phone. But I finally finished painting the "Rage Kitty" aka Dex Starr that RodimusVTS makes.

I thought so, the little hook @ the top of his mouth. Really, a pussy cat?

I'd never seen one until I saw something on TV (some nature show) & they tore up a poor bird.

When I was a kid, a little box turtle walked in our back yard & my father wanted to make sure he wasn't a snapper. He put this stick in front of his face to see if he'd bite? The poor turtle just looked around like he was thinking: "OK, what's this about?"
