Well said RealNick

Jackie, I wrote like a 1200 word essay and that is all you took away from it? ;) you're my favourite nut in this bowl of party mix we call TA.

Spot on, Jay. I feel like they havebeen their own sabatier to make the scale fail. Seems abundantly clear, cut off the pinkie to save the hand.

Maybe just toys are dying. Lego is starting to feel it and have posted back to back quarterly loses for the first time ever. They just announced 1400,or about 8.5%, cut jobs that are being let go. Mind you that is with a hit movie in cinema, several successful franchise names, a booming new girls line, new video games and as they head into their Christmas production run..... If with all that, Lego can't seem to do it; what chance have we?

They talk about the fate of the 3.75 inch line in the last few minutes. Basically the same argument we've heard before, that the 6" line takes priority because it's more popular and that it's difficult to try and do two deep collector-oriented lines in differing scales.

He does say that there's a chance the line will see a resurgence "when there's a hunger for it," but the problem is I don't know how you can possibly gauge demand for a line when there's virtually no product. However he did say that it's likely we'll still see exclusives and cited the movie two-packs. Maybe there's gonna be a Black Panther two-pack after all. The Homecoming two-pack was revealed separately from the rest of the Homecoming line, right?

indeed it is same BS response they have been saying for a while

That was a factor. Couple that with near non-exsistant retail presence and hasbro ( by hasbro i mean stall ) effectively killed the line.

I miss the reasobly priced, properly articulated mu figs and i would love em to return proper. I call bs on stalls statement that running two lines is not " feasible" or what not. Price the damn things at 7 bucks, give back the artic and gear, merge movie and comic lines, properly case pack ( no bs short packs etc ), and they will sell. Hell i collect legends NOW cause up until the hit monkey wave or so the legends selection sucked. And even then only rshulk, punisher hawkeye and dp were what caught my intrest.

And its funny cause now legends is doing 6" garbage movie figs......just like what 3.75 did....sooooo.

Guess hasbro doesnt learn from its mistakes...they just up the scale.

yes it is sad that some collectors jump ship so quickly
sure when the figures are new they are $12.99 but look at some of Walmart.com's prices
I got Captain Marvel comic packs for really cheap!

and that is because of vehicles! from the very beginning they were made to go along with all the vehicles
even G.I. Joe chose that scale for the vehicles
Hasbro has really dropped the ball on vehicles lately.

No kidding! I know Gamestop was selling 6 inchers for as little as $4! My Walmart can't seem to give away some of them for $15. Popular? I doubt it. Maybe popular to the retail buyers but not to their customers.

Awesome thanks for the info! I use an iPhone and scroll down to manage attachments, click "choose photo" and pick the photo from my phone, upload it to a pop up window, close the pop up window after it's uploaded and post the reply. Now I don't need an image hosting site! Thanks u da man!

@-AutoBug-
Vehicles AND playsets my number one reason for loving the line even more. I try to have a vehicle or a playset with every team, army or group. Sometimes, even the solo hero's as well.

@Jay-
Try turning your head when you look at it. Not too hard though, you don't want to over stretch and wind up with taco neck.

@JB-
I love that video homie!!! YouTube gold right there. LoL

EDIT:
The other day I joked about all the old timers being gone and only JB being left and he was an asshole. I meant that in a funny way. I love that crazy guy! I wanted to publicly apologize and clear the record. He is not an asshole, he is a shining member of the community. It was JimmyO that originally told me about ToyArk and about the UK Marvel thread and told me about Jackie Boy. I have NOTHING but the utmost respect and admiration for the guy. He has helped so many here and else where and we are lucky to have him.

Someone, not JB, wrote me and asked me about if I didn't like him now. That is not the case. I called him that purely in jest I promise. Sometimes the way you would say it isn't always the way someone else reads it. I am sure we have all sent a funny text only to find the other person read it differently and thought you you being mean. I wanted to state publicly that JB is not asshole by any means. I am. And I apologize to you JB , and thank you to the little birdie that wrote to me and asked that question. Hope this clears up any conflicting thoughts.

dont kid yourself into thinking legends is not a popular line, apparently its more popular than ours and with a more user friendly community which helps the line continue to expand.and look over on the legends thread,a lot of former 3.75 collectors over there who jumped ship.

Yeah, guys, Hasbro is a business like any other. If the 6" figures weren't making them money they wouldn't be making them in as large a number as they are.

I'm sure ego or whatever plays some part in this but it's a little tin foil hat-ish to suggest they're actually selling poorly and the only reason Hasbro prioritizes them over 3.75 inch is some conspiracy.

great comment hasbroherofan!
it seems that the 3.75 line was contracted for a number of years but now that contract has run its course, they are free to focus on other things push new ideas.if anything its MU 3.75 sales that has tanked hard in recent years!

Honestly, I was getting to the point now where I was right before Toybiz ended the original Legends line: is not interested in most of the releases and I really just want Hasbro to give us new molds that match the Legends quality and diversity and update the main characters on them. (I know that's not a universal feeling).

The other problem is, if Hasbro isn't doing 1/18, who's going to bring it back BUT then? I feel like other companies followed their lead into 1:18 when Star Wars and Joe were strong. But now Legends is strong (according to Hasbro), so that's where companies are going to go as well. Not to mention, hardly anything is even getting a toyline these days.

They wouldn't have put GIJoe on hiatus if they hadn't made crap movies. Just like the ARAH cartoon, the public zeitgeist needs some push to help market the toys and the GIJoe movies were lack-luster.

Good point about the Falcon. Its unnerving to see all the (tiny) 6" vehicles getting made now when I was begging for it in 4" years ago.

So that Hasbro can even spell Marvel 3.75 Action Figure is probably a miracle.

Well, the poor movies killed GIJoe, not Hasbro. Hey, what does SA stand for anyway?

This is correct. Legends is a popular line. Maybe you see overstock being clearanced out but its making money. Maybe not TMNT or LEGO money but it does well. Hopefully Hasbro can figure out how to have two lines 4"/6" that complement each other and not be considered competition because there is more 4" money to be had.

Your dog is totally on topic since it kinda looks like Ms. Lion.

As for the pic, if you are using an iPhone tilt the picture (click the little lines at the bottom and the icon that is like a square with arrows left and right). For whatever reason you can never tell which way your picture will post until after you preview it or post it. Sometimes it's sideways on the phone but comes out normal or vice versa.

aside from Vitruvian HACKS, look at Hiya Toys the up & coming flagship who doesn't rely on KS to begin with.

this already proved, beyond doubts, the scary untapped potential that invalidates Tony Stall's "focus on two scales" statement.

I have to disagree and say it was Hasbro that k8lied the line by stopping their ARAH line for strictly movie figures. Those 25th anniversary figures were selling like hotcakes and they just stopped making them. Now they give you random 2 or 3 pack reprints with a 30th logo on it with poor distribution to TRU stores.

Sender 09-11-2017 11:57 AM

Prem1x, 'SA' is an abbreviation for 'super articulation' or 'super articulated' Star Wars 3.75 line like the late Black Series which will be carded into the Vintage Collection.

Now that the tables are turned and 3.75" is the one disappearing, I can't imagine there being much demand seeing as it's going up against the more popular 6" line. It's just sad that they're pitting two lines of different scales against each other.

Technically isn't it 3-4 line if you count the 12 inch sizes that they recently started to do and don't forget those massive Titan size figures as well. Although I think they're finally doing away with those Titan size figures...

Don't see why they can't keep the two packs going, though. I mean, $20 for two of them when a single carded figure is $14 nowadays isn't bad.

It is ironic that the 2 packs are only $20, I think they've always been $20 ever since they started doing them? Or maybe they were $15 ish perhaps? Forgot how much they were when they first came out...

They are not even doing that anymore G.I, Joe is on hold until it has a movie or other media tie in to support and they have no news or time frame for when a new movie may even be released and are leaving it up to Paramount to when any news on that front will be released. So it will be who knows how many years before G.I. Joe has any kind of retail presence again.

ironic really, because a few years ago it was the other way around,we were getting everything and they got next to nothing so they kicked up a shitstorm, now look at it.and i do not doubt for one second that our line has people with the exact same level of enthusiasm but now its time for us to either kick up about it or move on and accept things as they are!
also insider confirmation that there will be no exclusives or reveals for 3.75" at NYCC!

im not sure where it goes from here for 3.75 considering that 3.75 was dave vonners idea and baby! and he has been gone for a number of years now.and i dont think the other designers at hasbro were invested in it to the degree that dave was and i think EVERYTHING that was released came from daves work.

I think Hasbro put a ton of their eggs in the GI Joe movie basket. I'm not sure if there was really a plan B. If I recall, GI Joe Renegades was cancelled due to pressure from Paramount or Hasbro believing there where some similarities with Retaliation. The head Renegades writer basically said as much in an interview. While Renegades had a very unique take on Joe, it was well done and actually did fairly well considering it was on a channel that most everyone other than Hasbro knew was going to die. Hasbro let Paramount have a great deal of control over the life of Joe and Paramount delivered two mediocre products that essentially killed Joe especially since it seems fairly clear Hasbro had no plan B if the movies failed. I mean they own one of the most famous toy lines of all time and can't figure our how to make money off of it. It is kinda sad. Sure Transformers makes tons of money, but there is no reason Joe can't either. If it was a licensed product like Marvel or Star Wars then there would be an elevated success level. But as the owners of the property there has to be a way they can make money off of the property.
