I greatly appreciate that support! This is why I love this community. It's been a long evening and a very long story lol. Sadly, my local TRU will not accept the return, despite corporate policy and a phone call to the original store. I know who I'm calling tomorrow. I'll have to go back to the original store next week. Fun stuff.
Anyway, great shots of all the recent purchases! Always good to see some cool pictures!

Ya know...
I 99% percent of the time make my purchases with credit cards(and immediately pay the charge off)
Especially if you have a company that has a reputation for siding with the customer.
There have been a few occasions where i've had some issue with a product and the store was giving me shit...
well guess what... I call the CC company...get the store clerk, or managers name..give it to the CC company and told them i'm leaving the product right at customer service and giving them my issue.
Not once has my claim been refused. Though i don't have the need to do that all too often.

Maybe it was a good thing. I've heard that they new Trypticon has issues with its hips. Either way I hope you're able to get your money back.

shit story...but..ya know...it IS possible this was done before it hit the shelf.
one time i worked in a Staples as an Easy Tech lead. i forget the exact circumstances but it was about a printer. Some guy had it in a box and we needed to open it BEFORE he left the store. Now this box was fresh off the shelf ..ABSOLUTELY UNOPENED...
It has a different item (printer) in it than the box listed.
I would have swore up and down that he swapped it out had he left and brung it back...
so i don't know exactly where the fuckery occurred...
but it def happened...

Captain Nash 07-29-2017 06:41 AM

Goodness, BM, you have outdone yourself once again. Love the magic training session pictures. You've got an amazing eye for both display set up and photography.

Gave it a shot, but no luck. Went to two Targets, two Walgreens, and a Toys R Us. One of the Target employees said they did get the Ragnarok line in, but people came in asking and bought them before they even made it to the floor. They did have one Loki on the shelf, so I know they are out around here. I really wish I had scanned the Loki and gotten the DPCI number, but it never occurred to me.

At Toys R Us they said they didn't have them in, but then said their release date is August 1st, so you know they have them in the back and just won't put them out. That was annoying. Oh well, I'll start looking again Monday, when the Target closest to me gets their next shipment.

If they're telling you a release date of 8/1 why not wait until Tuesday not Monday? Not that I think there should be release dates on toys unless it's a line wide embargo date like with Force Fridays, but I'm wondering if the situation is going to be any better Monday?

When I was at Dorkside yesterday, they told me that Hasbro allowed retailers to release the wave early which is why they've started shipping. For some reason Hasbro is getting pretty strict about when waves can be released. It's possible the TRU employee looked at the side of the case and saw the Aug. 1 street date or their computer system wasn't updated with the ok to sell the figures. I don't particularly like the street date system but it's better than not having a release date at all.

hasbroherofan 07-29-2017 11:44 AM

Looking back at the leaked masterlist from a few months back, X-Force Deadpool was listed as part of the Deadpool Legends wave (which also had X-23, Cable, Domino and Deathlok, so it's accurate for the most part). I guess they may have messed up by including X-Force Deadpool but I wonder if it means there will be a mass release after the con.

^ Hey yo... there's my boy Warren... such an awesome fig. Hopefully one day I will be brave enough to actually open mine up and display him with the rest of my X-men figs. LOL.

- Classic Task Master (though i think he's more Avengers character)

While Taskmaster debuted as an Avengers villain he was one of Deadpool's first foes and he continued to pop up occasionally throughout DP's runs as a villain out for revenge for being bested and eventually as a sort of ally. So yes a Deadpool wave wouldn't be the worst place for a classic Taskmaster.

The price for the X-Force version has skyrocketed. It's now out of my realm of attainability.

Gah, I want these two right now! Kinda hoping they'll pop-up in a two-pack next year. Might be the best way to get his wings, plus all the additional psychic bits for Betsy, in the package.

I know ya pain. Same has happened with Satana. I have given up hope on ever gettin her. Unatainable grail. :(

Dr Kain 07-29-2017 03:11 PM

Went to a few Walgreens today and bought nothing. One had Netflix DD. A different one had Punisher and Elektra. No Blade, Bullseye, or Jessica, so no buy.

I also saw tons of yellow DDs, Ant-Mans, Thundras, Valkyries, female Thor, Gladiator Thor, Invisible Womans, and one had 2 Punishers, 3 Cables, 2 Rogues, a Phoenix, and Polaris.

Boy Blunder 07-29-2017 03:26 PM

Just stopped by the local TRU, employee told us that they had the Thor wave ready to go and they'd be putting them on the pegs on Tuesday.

The Toys-R-Us said they had a release date of Tuesday, but one of the Targets had a Loki on the shelf, so I know Target has been selling them.

I FOUND ARES!!! I ended up stopping at the Target closest to me and, while they didn't have an Ares in stock, they had a couple others and the guy was able to give me the DPCI number. I checked and it said a Target a few towns away had 3, so I called. The guy said they didn't have any on the shelf, and said that meant they didn't have any. I apologized in advance and then hounded him to check in the back for me. He was adamant that they didn't have any, but he found some. Of course "Ares" isn't on the front of the package for some stupid reason, so I had to describe the figure to him, and he ended up finding it! He was really cool and put it aside for me so I ran down and grabbed it. Definitely above and beyond in my opinion, and I'm really stoked to have this figure.

They must have put the other two on the shelf once they found them in the back because there was a movie Thor and a young Thor on the shelf when I got there. I wasn't looking for them, but hopefully someone else who is looking, but wouldn't have thought to have them check in back, will be able to find them now.

For anyone looking, the DPCI is 087069264.

Thanks for the leg work and find info pal. I need to get out around my area of the metro and see what's what. I was down at the Olathe TRU earlier this week. Nothing but the dregs of two X waves, Doctor Strange and the Giant Man wave that they got 5 months late.

I picked up a KO Mac Gargan Venom for next to nothing.

No head articulation but they got rid of the fugly button the original had on the back.

Gotta say, I'm loving the sculpt on this thing. I almost wish someone would do more rereleases of the old ToyBiz molds with the action features removed. There were some great figures that had the misfortune of having stupid gimmicks and buttons on them.

Bearjew 07-29-2017 05:59 PM

I have tried Target for two days of different employees and they are like prison guards!
NO! They say they are set to be released next week and we cannot get them out, PERIOD!

I did find black series Sabine today at TRU. FIRST TIME I have seen anything from that wave. They also had some drivers, no Revan though.

The old toy biz jack o lantern is one that could use an actionfeatureless remold. Despite its action feature gimmick its still the best jack o lantern and still one of my fave figs.

Didnt gargon venom have his scorpion tail?

hasbroherofan 07-29-2017 06:28 PM

I think that was the second Gargan figure. Hasbro made two, iirc.

EDIT Yup I found it on google.
