It's a shame that the Avengers Quinjet was only a 1 seater. Companies need to go whole hog on vehicles or just not bother as the half arsed attempts don't do anyone any favors. Playmates have the right Idea with the Turtles playset, we have a batcave from "The Batman" that we are going to splice onto it to make a larger avengers mansion cavern |

So why is hasbro apparently not doing this?? If they were they certainly wouldn't be repacking falcon! That's a basic practice of companies to maximize profits, and ensure if there is a product people desire make more and sell more, again, maximizing profits. The conversation you had with whoever it was at the con was, for a while anyway, hope inspiring. Giving them a list of rares, them trying to explain distro issues, for a minute felt like they would actually fix something. But my gut tells me it's lip service. It seems like they don't give a shit, telling you the case assortment is random is tantamount to saying, "we are gonna make these products, but we don't really care if it's something you want or if it actually sells or not". Hasbro is a big company with their hands in a lot of different pots, so I gather it could be difficult to track it all, but where there's a will there's a way. Pre retaliation joes, walking into my 4 area Walmarts and there not being one gi joe figure on the pegs is just plain stupid, a lack of effort on everyone's part. I do appreciate the Rogue/Longshot pack coming out, but really? One more wolvie? Come on man! |
The savage frost giant and Loki packs (the massive figures) are those out of stores now or do they sit and pegwarm like sentinels?
|
The gigantic battles?
Those were exclusives to walmart. I feel like they barely pegwarmed - temporarily. Either way, of the 10billion walmarts around me there are none to be found. Even sentinels aren't around anymore at WM or TRU in my immediate area. Quote:

I don't think we can ever expect Hasbro to do anymore than what they do now. Like you said, they only seem to give us lip service while ignoring the obvious distribution problems and blaming retail outlets for anything that goes wrong. I'm sure they have tons of statistics and year to year data that they use to try and project future sales, but seem completely unable to look outside the box. When I was a kid I remember there being a much larger Marvel presence in stores. Now maybe I'm wrong, but I remember in the early 90's there being large sections of ails devoted to the different lines of the day. X-Men, X-Force, and the general line that carried characters like Spider-Man Punisher, Iron-Man and so on. There would be multiple waves available at my local TRU and for years I could go in and get most any figure my allowance would allow. Some where hard to find but for the most part they were all there, and I had to choice which ones I wanted that week or month. I didn't decide to start collecting ML until after wave 3 with Magneto, Wolverine, and Thor and even at that point I could still find all the characters from wave 1 and 2 at retail. Hasbro is not going to change. They will never start a subscription or online collectors club. They will not make any adjustments according to our wishes or thoughts. We are not valued. We all know that they see kids as their primary demographic and they will continue to think of us as the cherry on top. Not something you go to the ice cream store for but a little bonus. The way I deal with this is to pre-order when I can afford it and fill in from there. To think of all the money that is made by online retailers and third parties just because their product has little to no presence in stores is mind baffling to me. I don't hunt at all anymore. It's just to time consuming and expensive to bother when you always come up empty handed. Hasbro is by far the worst when it comes to in store presences. I mean year after year all their lines seem to shrink from store shelves. And when it comes to cutting corners and customer relations, I view them as being terrible. I have no expectations of them and can't for the life of me understand why they even bother doing Q&A at conventions, when all they ever say is the disingenuous "will look into that." I see us having two options, stick it out and deal with all the problems or quit altogether. |
The biggest problem with regards to distribution, in my opinion, is every single figure being stocked in the one "Marvel Universe" title. Retailers don't see that characters like Absorbing Man, Falcon and Spidey/Thor/Cap etc are pegwarming on their system and they can't re-order specific characters from Hasbro because of their stocking systems and due to the way Hasbro sells to retailers. Until that is sorted, MU will always be the way it is...
The other problem is severe lack of distribution to overseas markets, it's horrendous here in the UK, but I've long accepted that we are an afterthought that only get's occasional scraps. |

If so they could start their own easy enough, if not then they could sell through the site without starting a subscription service or collectors club, and fuck scalpers at the same time. They could still have their shitty case assortments and send those to stores and moms and dads would still buy them for their precious little snowflakes who they made the mistake of taking down the toy isle. But then, they could make say a case of 1 or 2 hundred for exclusive selling online, limit them to 2 per customer, and when they get down to 50 or 25 left, make another run, if stuff gets stagnant and doesn't sell dole it out to the Ross's and the like and that's it for that figure. Maybe slip it in a revision case for stores if u really feel the need. This would not only make Hasbro more money (that they are loosing on the secondary market anyway to scalpers) but it would help true collectors, and simultaneously fuck scalpers over. Who may feel the need to make multiple accounts and buy figs they think would be sought after, but since we could all get the same figs anyway we wouldn't need to result to scalpers. All this without the need to have a subscription service or collectors club, which would incur extra costs to set up and maintain. And it's not like the president doesn't exist for making cases of a single figure with subscription exclusives and mail aways, which they could also continue to do. |
HTS is owned by hasbro

I would love that D-Day, but Hasbro seems completely unwilling to do anything outside their standard way of doing business. I don't see them doing anything in the future that would make any of what you said posable.
The company has some great talent working in the design area, but shit for brains in just about every-other area. I have no faith in Hasbro. When this line ends it will be two sided for me. I will miss the figures but love the fact that I'm no longer paying for incompetent management mismanaging a line I know could have been much better. I will move on with my life. And probable stop collecting altogether. I hope to shit I'm wrong, but it's hard to imagine I'm not. |
Greenskar and I scored these at tru. Now go get em guys. Tru exclusives.
http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...2808435746.jpg http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...2808324472.jpg We literally high fived in the aisle. |
I'll still take Hasbro over Mattel. Hasbro has shined in action figures. Articulation, sculpting and even paint applications have progressed on their products. Look at any boys line out there and look at where they were 5-10 years ago. Swivel-arm battle grip was new and amazing! O-rings? Gimme! Look at us now with wrist and ankle articulation! Accross Star Wars, GI Joe and Marvel the figures have improved in EVERY way. And while there have been some backwards steps in a wave (no ankle articulation or smaller with Transformers) there is always one figure with everything or coming in the next wave as an offset . Mattel has some good sculpting and adequate paint but the paint is helped by absolutely minimal articulation and garbage character selection. This is for the 3 3/4 scale only. Not ragging on 6 inch.

My gripes are generated by not being able to buy their awesome products always because dickbag scalpers with nothing better to do beat me too them. Another idea I had was that with my proposed selling model, they could still offer the retailers exclusives, and ship them too them, but allocate some to the HTS site exclusives, with the same 2 per limit, and kick a percentage to whatever store that particular exclusive was branded as. The beauty of all of this is that the would truly have a gauge of what sells and what doesn't, and adjust product development accordingly. |

I hate to think it's true, but I think you're right. Not only are the rev case selections random, but they don't give a shit about the fact that it is either. Wouldn't it be nice if fans could put in requests for future rev cases? Even one slot would make all the difference. I'd appreciate another Wolvie if it was COMPLETELY different. AoA maybe? Quote:
