I'm not making this a 3.75 v 6 argument as i have expressed appreciation of both scales. Because I have more of one over the other is a matter of personal reference than a hate for the other scale. And I'm not alone. While I agree that we may not be the majority and represent 'everyone', we aren't 'foolish' for wanting or continuing to want a 3.75" line. |

I never implied that 4 inch was selling better than 6 inch. I believe that 4 inch probably sold better than 6 inch when both lines were on par with each other quality wise. But ever since the articulation cuts, and fewer figures being released per year in 4 inch. Of course the sales of 6 inch would be better than 4 inch, and rightfully so, it's a better product. I mean, I obviously love 4 inch, but have purchased very few of the absolutely shit figures that they've released since the decline. To your point, though, the 6 inch quality and character selection has gotten better since 2012, while the 4 inch quality has gotten worse, however interest in the 4 inch (yes, based on hits and replies in the forums) has exceeded the interest in the 6 inch. And 6 inch had a fan base since the toybiz days which was a couple of years before MU, so if anything, 6 inch should have a bigger fanbase. I never claimed that everyone wants 4 inch. There is an obvious want for 6 inch and that's fine, I don't collect it, but i know there are people that do and that love it just as much as I love 4 inch. The only point I've tried to make this entire time, is that there is more interest in 4 inch, than in 6. And that assertion is backed up by the simple numbers. It's pretty obvious that stall, who, backed up by video evidence, doesn't like 4 inch. And (just my theory) that he intentionally ran 4 inch into the ground based on that dislike, in an effort to force collectors to make the switch. And yeah, it's worked. Not surprisingly. |

My opinion at this point would be to kill the line. I won't support the decisions that have been made, and I won't continue to spend good money on inferior products. I will likely pick up what I want at Five Below or Big Lots as those seem like the best deals on our line, and as someone who is only missing the unproduced samples and maybe two variants it I hard to say that I will no longer collect, but if something changes for the better I will be there to support it again. |

Super cool Goliath!
I painted an old Toybiz Giantman into Goliath and Made a custom Titania for Samson a couple years ago. He posted a great pic of them back then I will see if I can find it somehow. I will always and forever appreciate Marvel 3.75" I just don't think we can change the current state of the line, unfortunately. EDIT FOUND IT Quote:

No doubt, change is a necessity for the MU, be it better articulation, better price point, or both. The Star Wars 5 poa line has superior sculpting, less articulation, and for less money while still looking great for display. Perhaps MU could take a page there too. Superheroes have never been as popular as it is today and yet to have a drought in our scale only presses the issue. While I may not know the best practical route for MU, I do know I'd hate to see it sink with JOE this year. Any hiatus or 'rest' does not necessarily guarantee a revival or rebirth. |
Another great pic, D Day!
Always wondered about those Extreme Sets. Thanks, Lord Mudd. Great customs, K Dubious! |

It's not like MU, which started out ok, got way better, and then took 10 steps back with terrible figures and reduced articulation. Legends was basically the same articulation wise, and people just lost interest in it. And for me personally a lot of those early legends figures suck fat ones. Especially a lot of the females, those face sculpts and make up paint are the stuff of nightmares. But guys like shartimis who had loud voices and a youtube presence, would bitch and complain about MU, having better articulation than legends did. I can't remember what video it is specifically, but I remember watching a MU review video he was doing and he's crying that he wishes legends had rocker ankles and awesome articulation like MU. And always cool to see others take on characters. Quote:
I'll never be a six inch collector, for a few different reasons. One of those reasons is stall himself |

I'm a Taurus, but I'm not so stubborn to ignore great toys just because they took away toys I would rather collect.
Why would anyone feel the need to be loyal to a specific scale of action figures??? If anyone has seen my MU display/collection videos I say exactly what all of you are expressing. The appeal of 3.75 is that you can create huge displays in a small space, plus have vehicles and play sets all together. Unless space is not an issue you could never do the same with Marvel Legends. I will always prefer MU over ML, but if MU no longer exists what's a collector to do? Thanks for the compliments, I want us all to be able to enjoy these damn pieces of plastic, I mean they are pretty cool! |
