So Hasbro rolls out new line of figures - low POA, movie inspired, with oversized kid-oriented accessories, priced at 9USD, with accompanying action-gimmick vehicles... in 6 inch scale??? Really? They couldn't have left at least this type of figures in our scale? That is just mean... :(

they tried it with ironman 3 and age of ultron. no one bought them.

Of course AoU and IM3 3.75 inch movie lines pegwarmed. Who would have wanted underarticulated one hundredth version of Cap, Thor, Hulk and Iron Man armor? Yeah, that was wave 1 of AoU line. The only characters that were interesting were pushed to wave 2 (Scarlett Witch packed with those four AGAIN), wave 3 (Vision packed with those four YET AGAIN!) or not released at all (Quicksilver). The same with Pepper Potts, Extremis powered Aldrich Killian, Slatery/Mandarin from IM3. |

Well well well, I turn my back for a week or so and it just explodes here! In good ways and bad.
Hugely enjoying all the new chatter, well, most of it. Seems more busy in here now that we know we are screwed for new releases any time in the future. I guess every cloud has a silver lining. We may have nothing new, but we seem to be banding together and encouraging each other during this dark time. There will always be arguments/disagreements/"debates" on here. After all.. this is a forum for a bunch of, supposed, grown ups, talking about kids toys!!! ;) But things normally work out in the end. If not, just agree to disagree, and walk away. Leave the nasty little remarks, it's not worth it. Let the appreciation keep flowing. Will not go back and quote 20+ pages of inspiring and beautiful pictures, but wow, there has been some amazing examples of our beloved line/scale. Keep it up everyone, truely inspiring. New people!!! YES, NEW PEOPLE!!! That's really reassuring, there are plenty of us out there that are still passionate about this nonsense, and fantastic to see people joining in even now. Will mirror what someone else has said (can't be bothered going back pages and pages to find out who); If you have been lurking for a while but collect/appreciate marvel 3.75", just join. We are a welcoming bunch, some a bit messed up in their own ways, but a good community worth being involved with. I'm speaking from experience here, I just scanned these threads for a LONG time before taking the plunge, but don't regret it for a second. Met some intersting characters here, and actual real life friends as well! (Disclosure, you are not guarnateed to meet real life friends here. Be careful of people on the internet) ;) My lack of contribution/posing here recently has been a combination of factors; Still trying to get to grips with a new job Lots of "social" obligations Recovering from said social obligations A general lack of interest. The latter I think comes from the fact that it took me about 9 months from start to finish to create my perfect man cave. Just as I did, we got the news that the line is finito (not in those specific words, but we are all pretty clear it's done for a good long while). I have still been "collecting". Buying, ordering customs, buying, tweaking the display, buying, planning and working on my own customs, buying, etc. It's time more than anything. When I do get a bit of peace an quiet alone, I normally just turn on the PlayStation and chill out in the cave. I have a tonne of customs (including vehicles) part done/planned, a shit load more army builders I purchased a month or so back that need indergrating into the display. I will get round to it. Will try and keep a bit more on top of this beautiful community in future. Even if it's just to say; "Welcome new person" Or "Cool picture" Or "That's great, but why don't you try..." Anyway, rant over. Keep it marvel 3.75" team! |
Again I guess I'm stretching, but the Twin Peaks 4 pack is dropping under $20. Can get an Aunt May and maybe generic detective out of that set to add to our Appreciation of MU.

And incase anyone missed it last time, a few picture of the 9 month project/5 years of collecting

Have you got a link for the twin peaks pack sir? Also, who/what was that figure that was an excellent stand in for Jarvis? Wouldn't mind having the starks "alfred" in my collection

never saw vision though. |
It's weird how distribution of the line has been so off. Even from the start. Well in the UK at least. I remember visiting a toy superstore and seeing rows upon rows of figures. Actually having the opportunity to pick the best paint job from a group. Now, it's luck to even get hold of the figure you actually want
|
Local TRUs seem pretty well stocked on the 4'' Thor 2 packs and GOTG 5 packs. So if anyone is missing those, maybe check your local stores.

Do you think that this line being in 5-6 inch scale will sell better than 3.75 inch one? |

Those 5 packs, wow. Really trying to milk those figures aren't they! Again, just groot I was after, and now he is mine! (All of these figures have been provided to me by pilk, who managed to find them from another lovely collecter who was willing to grab them and send them over to our silly little island at cost. Got to love the community here) |
LordMudd, thanks, I was going for wow ;)
It's nice to see the reactions from family members when they walk in and see it for the first time. They are, varied. |
