Edit: Just bought another to make Reagan - $7.96 with Amazon Prime.

This is probably blurring the compatibility/appreciation thread, but there is a pricier $20 non-articulated Obama set on the whitehousegiftshop website (search "podium") that was made by Safari that has nice presidential podium and flag stand as well.
Don't know if they plan on making one for POTUS part 45 yet.

Maybe blurring, but it's hard when there is no product. Stuff like this helps us to appreciate the collection we have.

So Hasbro rolls out new line of figures - low POA, movie inspired, with oversized kid-oriented accessories, priced at 9USD, with accompanying action-gimmick vehicles... in 6 inch scale??? Really? They couldn't have left at least this type of figures in our scale? That is just mean... :(

Il Cattivo 10-05-2017 07:57 AM

they tried it with ironman 3 and age of ultron. no one bought them.

This started a few years ago with the Spider Man cartoon. Currently the kids 6 inch/5 inch offerings:

1. Current Spider Man cartoon line
2. GotG cartoon line
3. Weird non media tied Avengers line
4. Spider Man Homecoming line
5. Black Panther (available soon)

These are all available for $7-$10 depending on the store along with Legends 6 inch figures. Just craziness.

The kids offering for those were both 3.75 POA. If there were kid's 6 inch they were limited. The big kids lines were both 3.75. But regardless, the kids offerings are now 6 inch so it really doesn't matter what property ushered in the change. I am fairly certain that Hasbro even said at one point that 6 inch was for collectors and 3.75 was for kids, but that obviously has gone away. I'd take every single one of these kids lines as is in 4 inch scale. Yes, the figures suck compared to what we have normally gotten, but I'd buy everyone in 4 inch/ 3.75 inch.

I bought some of them (and still waiting to snag cheap shipping movie Vision). :)

Of course AoU and IM3 3.75 inch movie lines pegwarmed. Who would have wanted underarticulated one hundredth version of Cap, Thor, Hulk and Iron Man armor? Yeah, that was wave 1 of AoU line. The only characters that were interesting were pushed to wave 2 (Scarlett Witch packed with those four AGAIN), wave 3 (Vision packed with those four YET AGAIN!) or not released at all (Quicksilver). The same with Pepper Potts, Extremis powered Aldrich Killian, Slatery/Mandarin from IM3.

I understood it when those were cartoon style not exactly compatible with ML or MU esthetics. But this? According to photos these look exactly like those IM3 and AoU 3.75 lines however enlarged a little bit. No ML collector will buy these with multitude of much better figures in ML line and no MU collector will buy them as well because of the scale. I really do not get this decision by Hasbro.

I see your point and I agree.

Well well well, I turn my back for a week or so and it just explodes here! In good ways and bad.

Hugely enjoying all the new chatter, well, most of it. Seems more busy in here now that we know we are screwed for new releases any time in the future. I guess every cloud has a silver lining. We may have nothing new, but we seem to be banding together and encouraging each other during this dark time.

There will always be arguments/disagreements/"debates" on here. After all.. this is a forum for a bunch of, supposed, grown ups, talking about kids toys!!! ;) But things normally work out in the end. If not, just agree to disagree, and walk away. Leave the nasty little remarks, it's not worth it. Let the appreciation keep flowing.

Will not go back and quote 20+ pages of inspiring and beautiful pictures, but wow, there has been some amazing examples of our beloved line/scale. Keep it up everyone, truely inspiring.

New people!!! YES, NEW PEOPLE!!! That's really reassuring, there are plenty of us out there that are still passionate about this nonsense, and fantastic to see people joining in even now. Will mirror what someone else has said (can't be bothered going back pages and pages to find out who); If you have been lurking for a while but collect/appreciate marvel 3.75", just join. We are a welcoming bunch, some a bit messed up in their own ways, but a good community worth being involved with. I'm speaking from experience here, I just scanned these threads for a LONG time before taking the plunge, but don't regret it for a second. Met some intersting characters here, and actual real life friends as well! (Disclosure, you are not guarnateed to meet real life friends here. Be careful of people on the internet) ;)

My lack of contribution/posing here recently has been a combination of factors;

Still trying to get to grips with a new job

Lots of "social" obligations

Recovering from said social obligations

A general lack of interest.

The latter I think comes from the fact that it took me about 9 months from start to finish to create my perfect man cave. Just as I did, we got the news that the line is finito (not in those specific words, but we are all pretty clear it's done for a good long while). I have still been "collecting". Buying, ordering customs, buying, tweaking the display, buying, planning and working on my own customs, buying, etc. It's time more than anything. When I do get a bit of peace an quiet alone, I normally just turn on the PlayStation and chill out in the cave. I have a tonne of customs (including vehicles) part done/planned, a shit load more army builders I purchased a month or so back that need indergrating into the display. I will get round to it.

Will try and keep a bit more on top of this beautiful community in future. Even if it's just to say;
"Welcome new person"
Or
"Cool picture"
Or
"That's great, but why don't you try..."

Anyway, rant over.

Keep it marvel 3.75" team!

Jay West 10-05-2017 10:39 AM

Again I guess I'm stretching, but the Twin Peaks 4 pack is dropping under $20. Can get an Aunt May and maybe generic detective out of that set to add to our Appreciation of MU.

Oscarv 10-05-2017 10:40 AM

Have you got a link for the twin peaks pack sir? Also, who/what was that figure that was an excellent stand in for Jarvis? Wouldn't mind having the starks "alfred" in my collection

scarlett witch peg warmed in my area as well and so did ultron and he's new.
never saw vision though.

Oscarv 10-05-2017 10:50 AM

It's weird how distribution of the line has been so off. Even from the start. Well in the UK at least. I remember visiting a toy superstore and seeing rows upon rows of figures. Actually having the opportunity to pick the best paint job from a group. Now, it's luck to even get hold of the figure you actually want

Snowflakian 10-05-2017 10:58 AM

Local TRUs seem pretty well stocked on the 4'' Thor 2 packs and GOTG 5 packs. So if anyone is missing those, maybe check your local stores.

You could be right. IMHO Black Panther is much rare figure with distinct movie version very difficult to obtain here in Europe + there is Shuri and Killmonger.

Do you think that this line being in 5-6 inch scale will sell better than 3.75 inch one?

Was only ever interested in the skurge/enchantress pack, the other did nothing for me. Yes, they are very cool, but I'm happy with my current Thor and hulk.

Those 5 packs, wow. Really trying to milk those figures aren't they! Again, just groot I was after, and now he is mine!

(All of these figures have been provided to me by pilk, who managed to find them from another lovely collecter who was willing to grab them and send them over to our silly little island at cost. Got to love the community here)

Oscarv 10-05-2017 11:25 AM

LordMudd, thanks, I was going for wow ;)

It's nice to see the reactions from family members when they walk in and see it for the first time. They are, varied.
