You'd be better off getting the Figuarts Mace.

There already was a Jango figure that came out a ways back...as for Mace, who knows when we'll see him. Black Series support for characters in the prequels has been rather spotty outside of clone troopers.

The Star Wars Show interviewed Steve Evens from the Hasbro Star Wars team at Celebration and was asked about prequel figures, he acknowledged growing demand for them so hopefully they will start making more. Padme and Mace should be high on any shortlist of prequel characters.

Weapon X 04-18-2017 09:28 AM

Hey guys how much are these Legacy figures retailing for?

Whoever is first to give me Count Dooku gets my money...

Wal-Mart had the same EpVII 3.75 Black Series figures they always have marked down to about $6 so I said f**k it and picked up Kylo Ren and Phasma along with Rogue One on Blu-ray. Probably won't get around to watching it till this weekend though.

What figures are you referring to exactly?

Weapon X 04-18-2017 08:28 PM

Oh, are they all different prices? I wanted the Vader.

Are you talking about the 40th anniversary Black Series 6 inch figures? The Vader pack is supposed to be around $40 msrp which is honestly steep for one figure and a cardboard backdrop. The other figures (Han, Luke, Leia, etc.) should be just around $20 though at Gamestop they're a couple of dollars more for whatever reason.

To be fair, it is a bit more than just a cardboard backdrop. It's four multi-figure bases that link up, a vertical frame to put on the back of them with a Star Wars logo plate, and a cardboard backdrop. Still not sure it's worth an entire extra $20, but definitely not as overpriced as some are claiming it to be.

Welp, screw that. Looks like I'm waiting a while for a Vader.

*grumbles* damn Black Series.... *grumbles*

Still definitely not $20 worth, $10 I could work with but certainly not the price of whole other figure. That said I still fear that I'll probably cave and buy one out of the fear that they might not actually release the individual Vader on its own without the display or that when they release him on his own he'll be hard as hell to get for a reasonable price and suddenly the Legacy pack won't seem so expensive.

Weapon X 04-18-2017 10:21 PM

Hmm....he's such a popular character, I'll take the risk. Waiting usually pays off in my experience. Deffo not always, but a lot of times.

But aren't they too small to go with other BS figures? Like 5 inches IIRC?

Also the headsculpt is a bit shoddy on that one. Hasbro's headsculpts are usually dead on, the lack of paint bringing them down.

Figuarts are, on average, 5.5-inch to small 6-inch scale, sometimes smaller, sometimes bigger. The Star Wars Figuarts (at least, the ones based off characters 6'3" and below, it seems) scale pretty well with The Black Series. I have the Figuarts Mace, and the facesculpt (like many other Figuarts figures) is better in person than in pictures, and it scales pretty well with Black Series figures.

Dr Kain 04-19-2017 03:28 PM

Figuarts Han is the same size as Black Han.

Also, the new Vader is the proper size against teh Figuarts. The only thing I don't like is that Chewy's height has been nerfed in the Figuarts.

Weapon X 04-19-2017 04:19 PM

More like nerf-herdered!

HAR HAR!

Yeah, as I said, it really only seems to be the particularly tall characters that are too short compared to the Black Series when Figuarts makes them, like Vader, Chewy, and Phasma.

Toonstrack 04-21-2017 08:52 AM

Even still, Id like to at least see what Hasbro would do with a Mace Windu figure, becuase again they're sculpts are better and they also tend to do the Jedi robes better.

I'm kinda the same way with a 6 inch Obi-wan in clone armor. Not a 6 inch Black series collector, but I'd like to see how it turns out. They already made an awesome 3 3/4 inch figure of it, so I'm curious what almost 9 years of time difference and another scale will do.

I would love to see a Clone Armored Obi-Wan.

I found the 40th anniv. Darth Vader today, and he looked really nice, but not $40 nice. They really should have made him a regular figure like the others...waste of a good sculpt.

Supposedly he will be released as regular figure later.

Weapon X 04-21-2017 08:23 PM

I sure hope so. I will wait it out.
