Amazon.co.jp has also updated their preorder pages for Alternity Starscream and Skywarp with new official pictures. The Decepticon duo both transform into Okamora Orochi cars rather than jets on this outing, but they still retain the jet mode design cues such as "wings" on their backs and laser cannons on their arms, while also carrying on Alternity's tradition of awesome hi-tech designs. Review
Thought Last Stand of the Wreckers #1 was a thrill ride? Hold on tight, because Last Stand of the Wreckers #2 keeps the momentum and excitement going.

Whereas Issue #1 of Last Stand of the Wreckers primarily served to introduce the casual reader (or reintroduce to die-hard fans) to some unfamiliar faces, Issue #2 primarily serves to fill in the reader regarding the back stories on how our characters got to this point in the present. What happened to Overlord that made him an outcast among the Decepticons? How did Impactor escape Garrus-9 and find his way to the Decepticon dropship? Is there meaning behind the different pieces of robotic exosuit that Verity wears around the ship?

Nick Roche and James Roberts write the second issue much like the first. While not taking itself too seriously, there is still enough action to be satisfying. The comedic bits continue as well. Although most of the issue concerns itself with flashbacks and back story, the development at the end of the story literally puts the Wreckers in the middle of the action. Nick and James handled the countdown in a unique fashion, one that builds on the excitement leading to the ultimate, thrilling climax of the issue.

For those Verity Carlo fans, you’ll be happy to know that she’s more than just background filler. Whether the Wreckers planned it or not, she has a role to play in this series. There’s also a small shout-out to Jimmy Pink and Hunter O’Nion in the background. Speaking of shout-outs, there’s also a small cameo for Black Shadow. Want a more familiar character? Do cameos by Megatron and Sixshot do it for you? There’s something for everyone in this issue.

Nick Roche’s art is what you would expect from Nick. He tends to match the tone of the issue well and really provides his best stuff as the action picks up at the end of issue. The last page, a full-page panel, is simply exquisite.

Do what you need to do to pick up this issue. Low on cash? Work overtime, shovel snow or walk old ladies across a busy intersection for money. The issue is definitely worth the read. Given the ending of this issue, there’s nothing but purely, unadulterated action left over the final three issues.

Review
The first two issues of the four-part Bumblebee mini-series generated some intriguing storylines, such as viewing Bumblebee’s first days as Autobot leader, a rogue Skywatch unit using the Autobots for their needs, and Skywarp active on Earth and planning something big. Unfortunately, Bumblebee #3 does not prove to be as effective of an issue as the first two. The start of the issue features Bumblebee features Bumblebee tracking an employee of Darkmatter Logic while Colonel Horiuchi and his Skywatch unit arrive at the Autobot base in an attempt to fix the decoy Bumblebee.

Unfortunately, a majority of the rest of the issue features Bumblebee’s attempt to befriend a young girl to obtain the information he needs. The interaction is somewhat creepy, akin to a stranger enticing a kid with candy. The conversation between Bumblebee and the child turns less creepy as the issue proceeds, but does serve to slow down the pace of the story.

Anyone anticipating more Bumblebee vs. Scavenger action continuing from the end of Issue #2 or as hyped on Cover B of this issue will be disappointed to see that the Construction is not featured at all. Any inclusion of Decepticons in the issue is minor, with only one character appearing in a few panels. Additionally, Bumblebee #3 continues the trend of the mini-series being full of talk and absent of action. With one issue left to go, the biggest piece of action has been Blurr shooting Bumblebee last issue.

Chee’s art continues to be very stylized, with a very washed out feel. The designs still revert back to the traditional robots versions, completely different than those seen in the current ongoing series. His style is very consistent, with no deviation from one panel to the next. Unfortunately, the style doesn’t lead to any panel that stands out as an extraordinary “money-shot”.

With one issue left to go in this mini-series, Bumblebee #3 loses some of the excitement built up from the first half of the mini-series. Bumblebee’s long interaction with the child and limited Decepticon action do not serve to create a building anticipation for the conclusion. The last panel of the issue, however, does provide hope for a final showdown and the action everyone has been waiting for. After all, Bumblebee said it himself this issue when he apologetically said, “You deserve a goodbye, at least”.

Like Sideways, Breakaway and Dirge, Scattorshot's variant replaces the lighter a lighter shade of plastic with a darker one. In his case the light gray on the initial release has given way to darker gray plastic. Check out a comparison image by clicking on the thumbnail to the left of this story.
