I could see the pastern continuing for the X-Men waves. But I feel like we really, REALLY need some villains in there.
Hell, I'll take a decent Magneto!

Captain Nash 08-15-2017 07:13 AM

Spyne that Sauron looks great! great work!

also see a pattern forming but to be sure we would need one more wave I think. Can't tell anything off of one of course and two could be coincidence...three is definitely a pattern. And agree we need villains!

Exodus, acolytes, sinsear, tempo, forearm, fitzroy, saturnyne, cyber, omega red, black tom cassidy, tyler, mr sinister. Just a few. Hell use those and make albert ( robot wolverine ) a baf.

Dr Kain 08-15-2017 07:19 AM

Well we are getting Apocalypse.

I've said this many times, but they need to do some box sets.

Giant Size X-Men - Storm, Nightcrawler, Banshee, Thunderbird, and Colossus.

X-Factor - Cyclops, Jean, Iceman, Beast, Archangel reissue

Excalibur - Kitty, Captain Britain, Megan, Phoenix, Nightcrawler (same figure from GS set)

Brotherhood of Evil Mutants - Mystique, Blob, Pyro, Avalanche, and Toad.

Now with 90s Cable and Domino coming out in the Deadpool wave, if those box sets were to happen (at least the GS one), this is what I would like to see for the next regular X wave (BAF Apocalypse):

Jim Lee Storm
X-Force Cannonball (with Warpath head for Thunderbird's body)
Yellow Wolverine (preferably 70s belt, but could be X belt for Jim Lee team)
Jim Lee Gambit
Marauders Sabertooth
Inferno Mr Sinister
Lilandra
Prof X

I want to make a Forearm but I haven't figured out how to add 2 more arms on a figure haha.

Great ideas! The only place I would disagree with you is adding a Warpath head... because then I would feel like I need to get 2 Thunderbirds and in a box set, that'd be hard. :)

Starlord67 08-15-2017 10:00 AM

As long as I get my Classic Storm and Thunderbird I will be a happy camper!!!I do agree on the boxsets...With the success (?) of the Aforce set why not make a WOMEN of X set with Jim Lee Storm, classic White Queen (with the cape from Sif) and Mystique as well as an Outback Era Dazzler, X-force Polaris and Selene.

Dope man!!

Captain Nash 08-15-2017 11:50 AM

Box sets galore!

X-Factor revamped - Polaris, Havok, Strong Guy, Quicksilver, Madrox, Wolfsbane (5 of the six or 4 of the six and two Madrox)

New Mutants - Sunspot, Cannonball, Wolfsbane, Magik and Moonstar woujld be my picks but you could also have Karma or Cypher. Please no Magma though I guess she is a possibility. Would prefer their later more individualized looks but I guess their standard X-student looks would be okay

Hellfire Club (probably a con) - Sebastian Shaw, Donald Pierce, Mastermind, Selene, Madelyne Pryor, Emma Frost, though I guess you could also consider Sage or Harry Leland and some Hellfire guards. But dammit if they make a Hellfire set and don't include Selene my nerdrage shall hit the roof lol.

X-Men gold and blue - it could be the main 6 of each but I guess five would also be okay. Not sure who I'd throw out, for me probably Cyclops and Colossus but that may not work for everyone.

Kain's Brotherhood and Excalibur, X-Factor and GSXM sets are also good ideas of course. I would say that the Original Xfactor and GSXM sets have the most likelihood of being made, with New Mutants a slight possibility.

I still think they're going to focus on the jim Lee/Blue Gold era - these along with a handful of others - Nightcrawler, Kitty, Emma, X-23, Cable, Domino, Deadpool, Havok, Polaris - are what are considered the "core" X-Men and they are really far into it already when you think about it. I think we will get a new never done before one or two each wave - I feel Dazzler and Polaris were made so quickly due to the huge fan push for them. Although with Shatterstar I think the idea that they're trying to include X-Force/X-factor figures has merit. Still thinking we'll see 3/4 of the above core mentioned. Storm for sure, and Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Beast and Gambit strike me as the more likely than some of the others that haven't been (re)done yet. Once they start will 1-2 villains I think that pretty much fills up the wave. And since we're getting Apocalypse in 2018 I feel very certain that 2019 will bring us either Sauron or Nimrod one as far as BAF go

Funny enough the only Magneto I actually liked was the X-Men Classics version, though I hate the goofy arm camera/gun thingy.

I would kill for a good Nimrod as a BAF.

Hasbro 1-day delivered my goodies and i sure didnt request that. Maybe it was because of the delay/error.

The display box is really nice. Like if i had room to display it that way i'd leave them in the box.
The artwork on the box and its design (in opening it up) are both done well.

Not even 'too' familiar with Bor, Ulik, Malekith but they're all done quite well and Bor and Ulik are BIG..didn't realize they were that big.
I like the unworthy Thor...and because of the diff head sculpts and color from the single release..i'll keep both.
I just think i'll sell the Jane-Thor from the Hulk BAF set and keep this one..but i need to do a side by side first, to make sure.
overall..for $100.00 i'm VERY pleased with this set.

re: the new Blackbolt and Medusa being released...are they the same mold/buck as the ones from the Thanos Imperative set..
AND..
has Gladiator ever been released outside of this set?

MeLikeJinx 08-15-2017 02:44 PM

I don't know how people can muster up the courage to actually open up those cool looking box sets. They just look so nice in package.

Its pretty killer. But since some are being released as singles in the gladiator hulk wave i think some may be able to hold off.

Yes, Bolt and Medusa are using the same molds, though Medusa has new feet, and Bolt has a new head (hopefully it's an alternate - I'd hate for him to be stuck always screaming). Gladiator, however, has yet to see any alternate release.

I completely get you, man, which is why we tend to keep the packages for a number of exclusives in our household, even if we don't keep the figures in those packages (though it does make storing them easier at times).

As a loose collector, I don't get why you keep making a point of how the 'loose/boxed' thing is a 'touchy subject.' People will collect how they collect - it's not for any of us to say how someone else should enjoy their own hobby.

You could always have him landing groin first on a fence. ;)
