Not an exact match, but it's what I thought of.

Agreed. I swapped the lime green parts on Mysterio for the single's gold parts. Left the rest the same. Looks great. Kraven is exceptionally well done and a great representation of his classic outfit. I like it so much I'm putting it into the display in place of the more modern look for now. Sandman is also a really nice figure. I'm using this one as the "heroic" Sandman in my collection from when he was with the Avengers and such. That way I can leave all my custom Sandmen on the villains shelf.

I don't like crapping on 6" stuff but that Ghost Rider bike looks cheap. Maybe the flames and fairing can be kit-bashed with a Maisto or something. If it was a 4" product, I feel like it could be forgiven for looking plasticy but I thought ML was supposed to be this great quality stuff now?

Tbh, the only thing I enjoy about Legends is the reviews and ACBA. They actually look pretty nice there. In hand, however, they're just a handful of disappointment.

Would be pretty cool if you elaborated more on why you find them disappointing, also how many MU collectors in here DONT have legends figures integrated into their collections?

I'm probably gonna do a video on why I don't like them sometime next year, so do excuse me for holding off on that bit, but yes, I'm sure a lot of people have them intergrated for their larger beings. I don't really think they're worth collecting as a line unto itself. Just don't feel the 20 or so bucks you spend on them, whereas I can usually get MUs pretty cheap, and they're quality matches 8/10.

MUfan97 12-06-2017 08:24 PM

For those who missed the Sinister 6 boxset's $15.99 deal, it's up at $11.54 on a used deal.

Damaged packaging, though.

Yeeesh! Guess I got lucky with the Sinister Six pack Spidey I found on eBay since his paint apps are pretty solid.

Sender 12-07-2017 07:43 AM

Marvel Legends Showdown aside, i was always surprised that Hasbro didn't cash in on making essential vehicles rather than the various Cap/Iron Man/Spidey movie tie-in concept vehicles in our scale.

Though the Quin Jet and Ant-hony weren't bad, where was Ghost Rider's bike, Punisher's Van, Hawkeye's Skycycle, a SHIELD flying car, the X-Men's Black Bird, etc. during MU's golden age.

A missed opportunity, especially during the transitional period of rebranding Marvel Universe/Infinite series to 'Marvel Legends'.

i appreciate that you are going to take the time to make a video on your views but why not cite them here in the meantime?
the price increase sucks on all levels,we got hit with it too.but legends seems to have kept things balanced for legends heads with the inclusion of accessories like BAF parts, alternate heads, hands, weapons.articulation and quality has improved since the line relaunched, and now they are surpassing the variety of characters we enjoyed back in the day.it appears to be a golden age for 6" collectors right now.

Ragnarok Hela was my favorite this year. The alternate head sculpt was a bonus. i also liked Sunfire. Its about time they did him in his classic costume, which is a great design to this day.

Honorable mention to the Marvel Knights series, i liked the entire line up. And just in time for The Defenders.

While the Ragnarok BAF Hulk seemed relatively identical to our scale's two-pack. And alternate Thor headsculpt there would have been nice given his drop in articulation (and height).

The video bike looks like the engine's plastic is actually painted. It also doesn't suffer from lighting over-exposure. We'll see if in-hand product matches what was shown.

So much missed money. The comic packs got hot and they doubled-down on those. They should have suspended them for comic-accurate vehicles.

Fans were asking for it. Part of the reason we're seeing ML stuff now. Vonner sculpted a SHIELD car. Maybe everyone just expected Marvel comic vehicles to happen since that it mostly the point of a 3.75" toy line so no one really lobbied for it.

It definitely was a failure and I don't think the speckling of 1/12-scale land-speeders, hell-cycles, tie-fighters, and maybe punisher vans is making a dent in the market of what GIJoe and SW used to do in 1/18 scale.

Hmm. Alright, let me give you a simple example that I'll probably have in that video.

When you hold a figure, you kinda like to feel the price you paid for it. For example, back in 2015, when Bionicle came back, I could hold one of those figures and say, "Yeah, this feels like $20." I still feel that whenever I mess with them now. With Legends, however, I don't feel the $20+ that you spend for them. I feel $12 at best. The accesories don't really balance it out for me, as I rarely use them, and I don't like BAFs nowadays, as they feel exploitive. If I can't feel my investment in it, why should I dedicate shelf space to it?
