I bought a few Ares. He fits right in with my Select and fits right in with my Legends. It's one of those figures that can work for both. Kind of like the Select Groot.

I think the Series 3 Wolverine by TB fits perfectly with my Selects also.

Dark Phoenix all of the way for me and that is saying something since there are a lot of amazing figures this year.

Moon Knight gets most overrated for me.

Hela is #1 for me. I haven't worked up the nerve to unbox Dark Pheonix yet, so that could change.

Angela probably comes in 3rd. The women be rockin it this year.

I think we're beating a dead Hulk here.

Hela, Dark Phoenix, and Angela are all definitely on my growing list for this year's best legends, too. All of Hasbro's ladies have been pretty fantastic this year, though.

I've been thinking on and off about things it would be great to see in the new Legendary Riders subline (if they continue it), and also characters that we are likely going to get soon one way or the other because of how popular they are, and I thought of something that might just fulfill both: Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Her collected editions have been among Marvel's best selling, so she's definitely pretty popular, and getting Devil Dinosaur in a subline that is focused around a figure and accompanying "vehicle" is about the only way we'd get Devil Dinosaur in some kind of non-special pack.

But then I thought about one problem: Devil Dinosaur might be too big a character to fit well into the Legendary Riders format. He'd probably end up more the size of a pop-culture-size velociraptor rather than a T-rex.

So now I'm back to thinking the only way we'd ever get a Moon Girl with Devil Dinosaur, instead of just her alone, is in some kind of special set. Which might very well happen (Hasbro could probably find some ways to reuse a 6-inch scale T-rex mold), but seems much less likely.

Totally agree. Moon knight is horrible. very bad sculpt, looks like a half ass design and those awful 'boomerang' things on his forearms and lower legs, ugh.

Gotta throw is Dazzler too. And Polaris for finally getting her done. I agree though the ladies have had the highlight this year. No matter how many Star Lords they make it doesn't make them the best.

Dr Kain 08-27-2017 07:01 AM

Dazzler is defintely in my top 10, probably top 5.

TheBlueMarvel 08-27-2017 10:34 AM

I hope that our Arkers in Texas, specifically in Katy and Houston, are safe. We weathered Sandy, here in the northeast, and we all remember how Katrina ravaged N.O., but what I'm seeing from Harvey scares me...and weather advisories are predicting continuous rainfall for the remainder of the week. Be safe, one and all. My prayers and thoughts are focused on your region.

So one of my only complaints about the Jessica Jones figure was a lack of accessories so I took it upon myself to attempt to remedy that a bit. I made her a scarf! I just bought a piece of gray fabric while grocery shopping and then all I had to do was measure and cut off a piece. Folding it then and getting it to sit on the figure like a scarf sort of should was a bit of a hassle since it's just a small piece of fabric that doesn't actually behave like a scarf which has some weight and can sag and bend with ease, this is just a thin piece of cotton fabric which wants to return to its flat status and doesn't have weight to pull around. After folding it in the right places and making some creases it actually sits pretty well and while it can't really be worn exactly as she wears in the show it still looks nice and in my opinion gives the figure a bit more personality.

hasbroherofan 08-27-2017 03:17 PM

Nice work.

ha..NICE!!....i just "scarfed" her today as well after looking at her.

i'll throw up a pic in a sec...

SIDE NOTE: i just finished watched GOTG vol2 today for the first time and REALLY liked that movie. I must admit...the first one one SO average to me that GOTG vol 2 was the ONLY marvel movie i did not care to see in the theater. After watching it I went and pulled some of my MCU GOTG vol 2 figs and appreciate them even more now. esp. Nebula, Mantis, and Gamora...I mean of course I've seen them before but DAMN these sculpts are amazing!!! I even like my Ego figure more now...well a little..the bastard. ;o)

and DAMN @ NINE FIGURES from one movie?!?!...is that the most from any one movie?? i know civil was has to be around there too

Civil War had 11 figures, and if you count the baby Groots and multiple Star-Lords, GOTG VOL 2 has 12. Hasbro is moving in the right direction. Be prepared for Infinity War, my friend.

Still need to get those two. Had to put them both on the backburner at the time of their release. Really wanting that Polaris now after her recent inclusion in the X-men Blue comic.

Impressive! I agree about the lack of accesories for JJ, but your scarf looks great and definitely boosts the figure's personality.

Before I saw the movie (I did watch it in theaters back in May) I felt very lukewarm about the Ego figure shown at conventions. After seeing the movie I damn near couldn't wait for that two pack, personally I'm glad it disappoint.

Thanks, I don't customize at all but when I can craft small accessories to give a figure a boost I tend to. One of my proudest simple achievements was tearing up a cotton ball for my 3.75" MU Mysterio to have a smoke/fog around his feet. Before I saw the upcoming Mysterio will have effects for his feet I was totally prepared to shred some more cotton, I may still do that just for a picture.
