Even if they would have just had alternate heads for each figure I would have definitely bought this. As it is, its a waste of money.

I couldn't follow a large chunk of it because I have yet to make it all the way thru Iron Fist. I stopped at ep 4 but now I'll give it another try. I wasn't expecting much since I watched the Punisher series first and thought it was just "meh". I was expecting a LOT more violence and mayhem than what we got.

Ugh, this also reminds me I need to fix up a bunch of the weblines on him. Guess I'll do it now while I'm working on a batch and have the paints out. Crap.

Cool! That's Spidey's too big for me. Iron Fist show was really bad and Defenders was only marginally better. I liked Punisher well enough. All these shows need more cross-overs now.

Literally 20 minutes after I sent payment, I found out that my brother-in-law had died. The last 11 days have been pretty horrible. Finally getting home today (we had been out of town for just the weekend at the time and hadn't been able to get home since), it made me feel a little better about the world to have the package waiting for me. He didn't have to pass along the great deal, but he helped out a fellow collector that he had never even met. It was a really nice thing to do. Thanks again, Prem1x.

Cheers, man. Figured someone here might want it more than me. Sorry to here about your family's loss.

Cool Deadpools, Creator, and i want that Winter Soldier!

Nice video run, MUfan.

Dig the dio, Lord Marvel!

Whaaaaaaaat up, NUT!

And i agree with PinkGoblin and Prem1x, alternate head sculpts would have been a 'must-have' touch.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Double-posting this from "Look what I just got" thread as an FYI to us MU fans here...

Coincidentally, i got the latest Marvel 'encyclopedia' for Christmas this year.

While normally i pass on such books, i must confess it makes for a great concise collection of the Marvel Universe rivalling the old school TSR roleplaying books but with broader strokes.

The individual character files are not as detailed as the previous DK Marvel Encyclopedia, but it is updated with some of the latest storylines.

The bigger BONUS here, however, is the added content. First off, the characters/teams are not listed alphabetically but by actual creation order. They've added signature vehicles, weapons, technology, and locations like planets and buildings. Makes for a cool read as it is now among my coffee table books.

Might get some 2-packs ala Thor: Ragnorak, but I wouldn't go holding my breath or anything.

MUfan97 12-29-2017 03:04 PM

I'm happy with how this turned out. I really wanted to make Mysterio's effects super showy since his schtick is special effects. Most of it is pretty self-explainatory, but as it's not visible underneath that fuzz, I will tell you that is one of those Marvel Universe light-up Avengers bases turned around underneath him. It's actually pretty easy to turn it off and on, so I've really only got to watch the battery.

Stopped at m 5B and saw the Gamora and Rage waves. Big deal since these are the first waves there since they opened. I usually have to go to other 5B stores.

I'd love to get Drax/Gamora and Thanos but it probably won't happen.

I swear we better get at least those 3
My wish list besides those 3 picks are

Scarlet witch
Vison
Winter soldier
Updated Hawkeye
Updated right color green Hulk

Plus Iron man and cap but if we dont with these 2 i wouldn't cry over it

Also two packs for the other 2 movies
Black panther & killmonger
Antman & Wasp

snake5289 12-29-2017 10:13 PM

As cool as Star-Lord and Yondu are you need the whole team and Infinity War seems like a good opportunity to get another member.

MUfan97 12-29-2017 11:40 PM

Just completed my Marvel Universe 3.75 "Defenders" Daredevil custom. Basically just a repaint based off of the 6 inch Legends Defenders set version. Those Ds were the hardest part.

Sadly, though, the camera didn't pick up that the horns are also dark red.

Kinda want to see the more professional guys on here tackle this custom. It's not that hard, but my customs always have a bit of a homemade look to them. Heck, Hasbro could easily do this repaint and do a two-pack with the highly desired Kingpin.

So I didn't see anyone address this for you, MUfan, but you don't really want to do this at all.

You'd be better off just painting a lighter red right onto the red DD figure.

Yep, that was still the best way to go. Good job!

Hasbro could do a lot they refused to do. I ranted about that a bit with one of the customs for the next batch. They just became lazy and complacent. They could have "kitbashed" several waves of figures just off the load of parts and accessories they already tooled. But, whatever. As for this guy here, if I can easily snag an extra DD - need one already for another custom - I'll whip one up. You just want to see what it'd look like I take it? My current batch is almost done, so maybe once I wrap up these last few.

Oh, certainly on that Hasbro bit, though I suppose it's a bit good in a way that Hasbro skimps on certain things. I think customs help keep the community lively, which is something that I think Legends lacks these days. I mean, why bother trying to make it when Hasbro will just do it anyway? That's not to excuse what would be considered common sense, of course, but still.

Also, if you need a cheaper way to get the parts, maybe you could use the Yellow Daredevil figure? I mean, you're gonna have to modify the joints anyway to prevent paint rub, plus there's some dark red mixed in there in most of the appropriate places. Biggest downside, though, is that the belt and holster are bright red, and thus need to be painted, and the sticks are white, and those sticks are kinda hard to paint.

MUfan97 12-30-2017 12:09 PM

Btw, if 8-9 bucks seems like enough for you to risk a derpy Enchantess, check Amazon.

Agreed. If I know they are going to make one, I don't want to, save my energy for one they won't make. This is why I like more obscure characters. Also, with characters they should make but don't, like DC Starman. The originals costume was physically identical to Superman's, just different head and different colors. No excuse but he was never done. Also another reason I like the golden age. Look at Captain America: Red Guardian, USAgent, Blue Shield, Crusader, Dominic Fortune, etc. 1 buck, different paint app, a few new head sculpts max, huge savings, lots of profit, and we get what we want. EVERYBODY WINS! THAT is called GOOD business!

True but I used up all my extras already. I've already started thinking of it as a full on custom, so I know what I want to do with it. Just need to gather the parts.

Unless you can repaint those dreadful eyes not sure I'd take the risk. Especially if it's for a collection. If you can paint them then it's a great price.
