You'd think the ONE place that would have the 40th figs in stock all the time would be HTS!!!

ukmu 04-29-2017 11:06 AM

Voted for Yak Face!!!!

Still hunting for a Seventh Sister and a Thrawn, driving me crazy.

The crummy thing is that in the first movie you can tell that he does have some elbow movement with the pistons limiting things. My only guess with Hasbro not giving him any elbows is because they would have put effort into engineering a way for his elbows to move and then higher QC because the small parts could easily break. I take consolation in the fact that C3PO is a very stiff character but SH is definitely going to be way better than Hasbro for this fastidious protocol droid, it's actually shiny and the elbows will move. I'm certainly content with the Hasbro one because it was only $20 but it had room to improve.

He's only like $34 with AmiAmi's discount and he puts the Hasbro one to shame, so whatever.

Ok good for you, as long as it looks like the movie character and get in the same poses as the Character can I'm fine.

I paid $28 with tax and shipping to get my R2 and if it weren't for his rarity I'd feel a bit overcharged since he is not a full-sized figure.

Dr Kain 04-29-2017 10:32 PM

You also forgot though thtat the C3PO is shiny the way he should be. Hasbro's is not.

Nor did I. I would rather pay $20 for a non shiny that I could possibly paint then pay $50 for another

Yeah $28 ain't bad. I had the same way with Yoda I passed on him for ever then finally got him at a Terrible Walgreens in the middle of no where about 5-6 months ago.

Dr Kain 04-30-2017 07:18 AM

Whatever floats your boat. I would rather have quality Star Wars figures. In fact, that is why I'm surprised ANH Vader turned out so damn good. If only Hasbro could put that much care and effort into all of their Star Wars figures.

I'll definitely agree with this. Hasbro's first Vader was so "meh" for many reasons such as the big obvious part where his helmet was puffy and his cape was stitched to his shoulders. Then you also had to find one with a decent dome since most of them got squeezed out of shape. I was content with having it until Hasbro inevitably released another better Vader but I didn't expect them to make a damn near perfect original appearance Darth Vader. I've only been blown away by a few of the 6" black series figures such as Boba Fett (Hasbro actually did great work capturing his worn look), Revan (while not outstanding on toy merits the fact this happened at all is pure joy for me), most of the OT troopers, and the new Vader but obviously it would be a good thing if Hasbro really impressed us more often.

I'm sort of ashamed to admit it but I still like leaving my first black series Vader out on display since he sports a different look but I have to keep him away from the new one or it highlights his inadequacies. :vader

If you're looking for 40th figures, check Walgreen's, found Han,R2 and Ben this evening!

ukmu 04-30-2017 09:57 PM

Did anyone here pick up the new (old) Rogue One AT-AT? I've been dying to see some pictures of it.

MUfan97 04-30-2017 11:40 PM

Funny thing of note, since there was talk of C-3PO here. I legit checked the #swapthefig tag on Instagram, and came across a picture of a Bandai modelkit 3PO in a Black series box.

I'm not sure if this was faked or not, but I've seen a picture of a perfectly good MacFarlane Spidey in a new Legends box. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Il Cattivo 05-02-2017 03:12 PM

saw the titanium series at TRU and I gotta say...*puts on flamesuit* I really like the look of them. but for $15 tho...I'll wait til they hit clearance.

I've seen all of them except the Vader and Ben. They honestly look okay for die-cast 3.75" figures and I like the bases they come with but they don't look worth their listed price. Also I've seen very differing degrees of paint quality from figure to figure so that's not great.

Happy Star Wars Day!!!!

lordbest 05-05-2017 01:03 AM

Doctor Aphra has won the 3.75" The Vintage Collection fan poll, unsurprisingly.

Il Cattivo 05-05-2017 01:16 AM

I'm an OT guy only but cool I guess.

lordbest 05-05-2017 01:32 AM

Fair enough. I'm an all-Star Wars media chap myself, and I think it's fitting that the most popular new non-film character is getting an action figure. Hopefully it will lead the way for more Marvel comics characters. I'm really genuinely excited, I'm not even a 3.75" collector but I will buy it if they give me comic characters.

ukmu 05-05-2017 03:55 AM

So no Yak Face.... gutted. I never heard of her but glad fans will get her. Two things that please me though, one; having a female Asian 3.75" head for customizers will be welcome across all lines in the mother scale, and secondly I noticed the "mock up" card had a price point of $4.99... I am positive it won't sell for that, but was still fun to see it with a throw back price.
