I think the Black Panther wave will be a pleasant surprise. They've already announced 3 figures, so we'll have at the very least 3 MCU Marvel Legends. I'm guessing Black Panther, which we've kind of already seen a glimpse of at SDCC, Killmonger in his Vibranium costume, and either Shuri or a member of the Dora Milano (Okoye). I'm wondering what the BAF will be. I'm really hoping for a Man-Ape comic or MCU version.

Also, LOVE that we're getting that Black Panther Shuri and Klaw 2-Pack.

hasbroherofan 09-09-2017 08:05 AM

I'm sure Hasbro was very excited about doing Killmonger since they can essentially get away with just doing a repaint of whatever Black Panther figure they made and then giving it an alternate Michael B. Jordan headsculpt. There was probably many a hallelujah in the corporate offices.

From what they said about Beast, I think it's likely he will not be in this wave but perhaps 2019. I think Nightcrawler IS likely. Veronica Mars pointed out that given that all of these 3 use mostly existing pieces, maybe the remainder use new pieces. Nightcrawler would definitely fit that. I also don't think the Gambit joke was a red herring, I think it's likely he will be coming too.

I'm hoping for a brand new never done before character in one of the last two slots, either hero or villain, and the final slot a villain that has been done before, be it either TB or Hasbro. I would guess Magneto or Sinister.

I'm going with Nightcrawler, Gambit, Magneto and Madrox.

I'm still hoping for a Giant Sized X-Men box set, so my wishes for the rest of the wave are Marauders Sabertooth, Inferno Mr Sinister, Jim Lee Gambit, and either another classic New Mutants character or Jim Lee Jean Grey.

Ha! Excellent point! I'd dig that.

After reading her current series on the Marvel Unlimited app, I'm really excited for this version too. She looks good. Really hope we can get a classic Julia next though.

*Crosses fingers for classic Mystique*

I can't wait for mohawk Storm and the rest of the X-Men wave.

**Hurricane Irma update***

Whoo, that was a close one, Miami will NOT be in a hurricane now. the monster hurricane has moved to the west side of the florida coast. it will be confirmed later on tonite by the media.

Sidenote: you know when you are a figure geek when: a major hurricane is coming and you are walking around with a gym bag filled with figures cus you dont want to leave them behind LOL

Captain Nash 09-09-2017 10:42 AM

Glad you're coming through it okay Tomax. Sad because my extended family lives in West Florida and I now I am concerned for them.

Does anyone find it odd given the projected timing of the waves that we are getting more X-Men reveals (4 total with BAF) for a fall 2018 waves and yet we only have two figures announced for the Avengers wave(s) that is supposed to be before that?

I don't want to wait a year. If the figures are done sooner they should get them out. Hasbro should realize that X-Men figures are golden, guaranteed money. I know, the whole movie lines that are required and the requisite 2 Spider Waves a year and all, but seriously, they could release 3 X-Men waves a year for 2018-2020 and I'd buy 90% of it, actually all with cases.

I did but then I realized this is gonna be a movie wave, and for whatever reason Hasbro hasn't shown off any of the movie figures for Black Panther or Infinity War yet. If the leak from earlier in the year is accurate (and so far it has been EXTREMELY so), they've got new movie versions of Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man and a Thanos BAF in the wave. I don't know if they can't show them because they aren't done yet or if Marvel just hasn't given them the OK to unveil them yet, but I can see why they revealed the X-Men wave before them despite it coming later.

My guess right now is we're gonna see the movie figures at NYCC, or at least some of them.

That makes sense, it's a good point. I know it may be just me but I just can't get excited about yet another Iron Man or another Captain America or Spider-Man in those waves, the reveal is underwhelming, even though I know they will be in the wave. They will likely be passes for me unless the BAF is amazing. Unless of course the look is extremely different, but I don't expect it will be. Now a MCU figure not done before would be great, like Vision (who I think was rumored) and of course the Black Order would be must buys.

1. Spidey legends vs X-Men legends two completely different and unrelated lines as far as character selection goes, so the unnecessary rehash of Jessica Drew would have zero impact on what X-Men we'd get, but good try

2. I don't even want all of the 90's X-Men. I'm probably the only person that Jim Lee Storm is a hard pass for, but thanks for the assumption

Yup, my mom lives on the west coast....

That doesn't change the fact that a number of us are totally okay with new Jess. Hell, I never had any desire for the old one, but I'm down for this one.

Same here. Now that I can finally tick Storm off my box, Vision is my next biggest want.

So the new upper torso (sculpted choker and the piping on the corset) for Punk Storm has got me thinking/hoping we may see a new Emma Frost really soon!!

Looks kinda like a modified wanda/amora chest.

TheBlueMarvel 09-09-2017 03:15 PM

Good catch, Red. At the risk of sounding smarmy, there may be a need for greater cleavage exposure. That said, I'd be more than ok with an Emma retool using the part. Sage would work also...

Yeah, under the right circumstances, I'm a fan. However, as it regards my plastic toys? I try to avoid seeming too creepy...if I can. ;)

After that beat down he'll have to change his name to captain no nads ;)

About 8 minutes here they mentioned Thing is completed and they're waiting on Walgreens to give them the go-ahead.
https://www.facebook.com/plugins/vid...07688719080%2F

They confirm he's bigger than the Ronan wave Thing, but still small enough to fit in a single package. So it sounds like that rumor that he would be the BAF for the Black Panther wave is debunked.
