The "mock up card" was actually an unrelated variant cover for the last issue of Star Wars: Darth Vader, #25, which came out September 2016. Marvel does, amongst many other variant covers, "action figure" covers, for at least one or two issues of basically all of their series. |
Just out of curiosity, how does the head to the 5 POA Stormtrooper from Rogue One look on a more articulated body?

http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/a...psugmy7c7i.jpg Finally found R5. I've always been rather fond of this unreliable little droid so I am happy to have him join my 6" collection. |
Nice! What did the little fella cost?

Need some recommendations here for my "Imperial" and "First Order" detolf shelves... I like to have each space be more of a mini dio than just a bunch of toys standing in a crowd. I think my "Scum and Villainy" shelf and "Rebellion" shelf are pretty fun- but my bad guy sections are looking pretty weak. Any recommendations here for these two on what would make some fun backgrounds? I was thinking maybe just a big red curtain for the FO and maybe more SpaceWalls for the Empire but I'm kind of drawing a blank and don't want to just do the "Rebellion" shelf over and over... Wife is gone for a few days next week so I'll get a chance to paint their floors black at least...

For the First Order, maybe snow? Not sure what exactly could be used to replicate snow, however.

Imperial section needs the black floor. To change it up I'd suggest a "space" theme. Try to incorporate a star view for the backdrop. Maybe even print out some quality ships kind of small so they appear in the distance. Star Destroyers come to mind. I am currently setting up three Detolfs in a similar manner. We are displaying Marvel Universe figures. Each shelf section a mini diorama instead of just a bunch of figures in a row. It is rewarding, fun and bit frustrating. Here are a couple pics for reference. They are early days and I am adding floors and perhaps side pieces. Each one with playset bits though. Good luck!!! In my opinion, don't rule out a future sandy desert shelf and a green woodsy foliage shelf just to break it up and make every thing really pop and stand out. http://www.toyark.com/uk-marvel-univ...83909-page137/ Post #3413,#3414,#3415 and #3416...long way to go, but we are both of in the same direction. |

If you do use a red flag background for FO perhaps, this is just a suggestion, using a slightly smaller black box and skipping the mini FO banner. Then you can really highlight the large triptych banner behind them. I would also General Hux on the box so it looks like the speech scene.... If so maybe save Ren for a battle scene shelf. Food for thought. About snow. Craft stores will have cotton rolls or even in the baby section for nappies in your local shops. You tear tiny slits where their feet will go too. It will help them stand better by being back on the glass and make them appear to sunk into the snow a bit. Be very subtle with it though or it could look cheesy. Keep the snow simple and hassle free. Don't want actual tiny bits as they will get everywhere and you'll hate it..... Like Anakin and his dreaded sand!!! |

Biggest Force Awakens 3.75" 5 poa army I've seen!!! We aren't far behind though. Hard to find them (Stormtroopers) in UK and they sell out almost immediately plus they are $15 each here.
Fantastic my old friend!!!! |
excellent ideas Ukmu- I do like to keep the backgrounds pretty subtle- cotton snow might be a bit much... but I'm thinking white textured foamcore will have a nice effect without the fluff... and I love the idea of having the curtain framed... I decided to clear space for a Resistance shelf and I thnk that one will be more grass and concrete style . Wonderful suggestions- thanks ser!

http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...pspmtrc9p2.jpg Moving along with the shelves. TFA Resistance shelf had to be padded out with generic troops since there aren't many New Era heroes yet. First Order is going to get a curtain i think and some stage detain and ice/frost paint... wrecked the Empire backwall so need to re-do it tomorrow... just going to be grey with some details to match the window.... http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...pswjuvhp5m.jpg |
