Such a shame no MCU Avengers Infinity War figures. Or at least I assume none. Marvel announcements are over, right?

ukmu 02-17-2018 12:21 PM

@HasbroHeroFan You mean a 7 year old Marvel repack with a near static video game character.... Oh joy.

I’m wondering if the price hike may be a way for testing the waters for bringing the manufacturing back to the US? They do a cost analysis on what a figure domestically produced would cost, float the 6” 10th annaversery wave at the new price point to see how the public reacts. If they sit sell them at discount and still make there money, if they sell well bring the factories back home and roll on. That may also explain the strange groupings of singles, 2 packs and 3 packs. A lot of variety for a single wave, unless it’s purposly research driven...

Manufacturing in America?!?! Indonesia, India, Philippines would be the first options. Until they can get labour cost at under $1 per hour it will definitely stay overseas. More and more manufacturing jobs are moving to the above three leaving a gap on the newly created middle class in the larger manufacturing cities in China. Plenty of o the poor countries to exploit.

I say bring back child labour and $7 figures with accessories. Plus their tiny hands can paint smaller and cram in articulation pins in tiny places. I expect we could have hinged wrists then. Maybe HasBro can just team up with Apple and make that dream a reality.

Did they just announce it or were there pictures? Come on Dante and Chris!

Ninjinister 02-17-2018 01:56 PM

Hey anybody got a good suggestion on a cape for el blanco Vision?

They would say shit like "Now for the real stuff" when moving slides from 4" to 6". They would give Vonner shit about his product. I remember some back-and-forth on the SDCC panel where they where giving Vonner shit and Vonner replied if they stopped 4" then all the money would dry up too. (At the time, 4" profits were helping the comeback of 6"). This was in a public-facing panel! It was pretty ridiculous since they could have succeeded as a team but instead instilled division and competition between their own products.

Yeesh. Sounds about as professional as a turd.

Oh well now this sounds like good news.

EDIT: Hey just realized we're on page 1337!

Yeah, but given the US recent cut back in the corporate tax rate once you figure in the shipping cost, travel cost, miscommunications, stollen intellectual property, constant recalls for lead paint, kidnaped executives, employees who wold rather not travel to less than safe and reputable locations, it is becoming economically competitive to produce domestically, Plus you have a lot more versatility of production when when the factory is just down the street and you can go there and discuss problems with employees rather than needing a translator or in some cases ( like China ) haveing to hire a government liaison and travel half way around he world to fix a problem.

Children would steal to much of the product, midget slave clones is the answer, but you people and your so called “ ethics” just wont let it happen...

joefan76 02-17-2018 02:35 PM

Sorry but it is difficult for me to get hyped up for "Gamerverse" figures which will likely have a dreadful line up ( I hope I am wrong but ya know.)when 6 inch legends are getting multiple waves based on the comics and the MCU of which the First 10 years Of the MCU line looks amazing.

MUfan97 02-17-2018 02:39 PM

Eh, the Gamerverse stuff is kind of a mixed bag. There's a Contest of Champions set with the "Civil Warrior" and a rereleased Collector, and there's another pack with Black Widow and a Street Fighter character.

The one pack that I'm thrilled for is the Spider-man PS4 pack. It features what seems to be a repaint of last year's two-pack Spidey with a PS4 costume deco and a new webbing effect that I couldn't get a good look at. It also has a Mr. Negative figure, so hey, a legitimate addition to the villains shelf. That's good, right?

Unfortunately, that's all I could get before the Marvelous news site crashed on me, so maybe just wait for some pics from Toyark themselves.

Correction: Spidey has a new headsculpt that could do for some good headswaps.

sh002 02-17-2018 02:57 PM

If the Contest of Champions sets are based off of the mobile game app, maybe in the future there will be more new figures as that game has many characters with costumes from the comics and movies. One can hope.

Hmm...Suspicious lack of wrist hinges on this dude... Could be a problem with posing there.

snake5289 02-17-2018 03:44 PM

Damn. No Chris or Dante for me then.

Guess I can retire my Jazwares Ryu now though.

Thanks for the pics, MUFan.

For a scale that supposedly is resting, I’m psyched and happy that we are getting something. I wasn’t expecting anything to be honest especially as the day rolled by.

While the premium First 10 Years does look swell comparatively, it is equally going to be a pretty penny more.

Kernel 02-17-2018 03:47 PM

That ryu does not look bad, I’m hoping for a blanka.
Also mr negative and the current spiderman suit on a Jim Lee cyclops buck... that’s as close to a win as we get thes days I’ll take it lol

slim19722 02-17-2018 03:50 PM

Looks like the Prof X body is getting released again, in white(not familiar with the video game character).

That's Mr. Negative, a Spider-Man villain.

Ryu is soooo bought!

snake5289 02-17-2018 04:27 PM

I really like the HADOKEN! effect.

Ninjinister 02-17-2018 04:47 PM

Well I was hoping they'd give us more on the GamerVerse. I expected another MvCI (although I would have thought we'd get Carol rather than Natasha) but since that game is pretty much dead, I wasn't sure. The other GamerVerse lines got Contest of Champions so I expected that as well. But PS4 Spider-Man! What a surprise!

He's not playable in any Marvel game let alone a current one, so don't bank on it.

So we got nothing again :/

snake5289 02-17-2018 05:54 PM

Just some stuff based on games. They're mostly repaints but I'm digging the new Ryu.

kylactus 02-17-2018 05:55 PM

No we’re getting worse than nothing, we’re getting repaints double packed with video game characters, I hope the next wave of ML figures get packed with a random Pokémon figures because funk it! Whoever is in charge of 375 now days is straight up brain dead.

I mean, yeah, kinda, but it's better repaints than the Rainbow Deadpool set. Gotta take what you can get these days.
