Honestly, I don't think that they are. I think they're just really well printed using the new screening process that Hasbro has been using with their Marvel Legends figures. I have other figures in my collection that do have separate eye pieces though, and Qui Gon looks nothing like them when you compare them side by side, so I'm gonna say that they're not.

I could be wrong though, as I've seen high definition photos that do give the impression that they are indeed separate pieces. It's possible that it's just not visible to the naked eye. I can't say definitively though that they are not a separate piece, simply because I can't get the head off of the body to take a closer look. I've tried a hair dryer, and the boil and pop, and it won't budge. I'm not going to force it and risk breaking the figure.

They are, just ask Hasbro QC!

Okay, WHY? I sincerely doubt that they're articulated, so what does this accomplish? All it does is add a bit of assembly cost.

Yeah, if someone who has the figure in hand can't see a noticeable difference you have to wonder why bother doing it all.
The only thing I can think of is that painting a small section on a sub-assembly accurately would be easier than doing it the typical way. I guess that would decrease cross-eyed and eye alignment issues.

I have some small suspicions that the 3 Black Series 3.75 inch First Order Stormtroopers I got from China may be high quality bootlegs(due to plastic differences with my Wal-Mart bought Stormtrooper), but hey, for $19.99 for all three, I don't mind.

Hasbro seems to be stepping up their game.

Those look great for KO's. We only collect the TFA 3.75" 5 POA though. After army building so many, seems daft to go another direction. I am hopeful that there will be plenty more Stormtroopers when the new toys drop. Also, each one we have has found at a real brick and mortar retail store. Loved being able to hunt for toys, made collecting them so much more fun. Being a 3.75" collector these days means internet access over well timed store visits.

Do we have any clear confirmation on which of the 40th anniversary release figures (on the special card) will be given a regular Black release? I know the Tusken Raider, and Leia, Luke, Obi, Chewie, Han, Artoo and Threepio have already been released. But will Death Star Trooper, Vader, Jawa be getting another release? Will any of the others be reissued?

According to leaked/rumored Gamestop listings on this year's Force Friday they will be releasing the 40th anniversary Vader as a standard figure along with a re-issue of the Stormtrooper, both being marketed as the Rogue One versions. Take this information with a grain of salt since nothing official from Hasbro has been stated and the listing could have been fake.

My Wal-Mart has numerous Darth Vader sets but they are all still full price. I am going to wait for them to go on sale.
