So on top of all the purchases last night, my wife bought herself an MCU Vulture today. We only have two pieces of the wing pack, so he's not ready for prime time, but the figure is nice as-is.

Well my trip to Ikea ended up extra fruitful as I stopped at a Walgreens and a Wal-Mart nearby that I never visit. Walked out of Walgreens with the lone Human Torch (the head looks a LOT better in person), Drax and Old Man Logan (since they were on sale). I am most definitely not a Wolverine fan but I do dig the OML look. Of all things at Wal-Mart, I snagged the Spidey/Vulture pack out of the clearance isle for 9 bucks. I already have one but I could not pass up the extras for whatever use I decide on them for that whopping price. Single Red Onslaught wave figures were still $15. Wal-Mart clearance amuses me.

Medusa has the power of prehensile hair translates to Medusa's action figure has a giant chunk of immobile plastic glued to its head.

I kinda wish they'd have given her the Spidey heart on her shirt https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4433/...8792b436_z.jpghttps://farm5.staticflickr.com/4471/...224ca7f8_z.jpg I can't decide which head I like better https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4478/...0ccdf173c0.jpg |
I use both heads for my regular Phoenix, it just depends on what type of pose I have her in. If I have her just standing there static or in a relaxed position, I use the hair down one. If I have her in an action poses, the messy head.

I stopped by TRU at Fair Lakes this morning and they still had 4 ML A-Force sets if anyone in NOVA or Maryland need them. They had most of the Neflix wave and Thor Raganrok. I didn't pick up anything. Was tempted to get another Hela so I could display the Character with both versions of her head.

I just recently decided to purchase figure stands for my legends. I was studying all of them for awhile and i noticed all brands have their pros and cons. Anyways i went with kaiser stands. While i wasn't looking to have them in action poses for display, i did want something that would give me piece of mind that they won't topple over in my room.
Although i know most of you aren't fans of the kaiser stands, i must say im im very impressed. |
Is it possible to post picture?

Found Human Torch at nearby Walgreens. Got him thanks to Walgreens points which I have to use somehow figured I might as well get him after all. He looks decent but I'm not as excited about him as I thought.

Many of us often complain about the costume selection for lots of ML releases. Polaris, Colossus, Mary Jane, and Havok are just a few of the misfires. This line could offer some of the older collectors (or younger ones who like the throwback outfits and looks) alternatives. Maybe an actual Betsy Braddock pre-Revanche Psylocke, a comic Baron Mordo, a Shadowcat (or even a Sprite) Kitty Pryde, the Fearsome Four Sandman, a helmet+jumpsuit Thing (ha, I tie shit together often ;)), or finally providing a venue for the delivery of a classic Storm. They could also use the line as a way to offer improvements, such as the trigger fingers for Frank and unmasked Wolverine head (although I seriously dislike that face). Maybe they could fix the medium-large (Grim Reaper/Whirlwind/Cap/Kraven/Wonder Man/Namor) mold's glaring lack of fists. Or they could provide size/scale corrections such as providing a proper classic Thor on the Sentry mold or upgrading US Agent to the new Cap body. I could see the introduction of new characters under the auspices of 'Classic Marvel' such as "1st appearance White Tiger," as a method to get Hector Ayala into the hands of collectors like myself...or even a John Proudstar fig. The potential here is great, if the format is plied correctly. I guess, depending on the sell-through of this wave, we'll see where they ultimately go. At first, I thought I only wanted Frank and Tony, but now, after seeing it, the only figs I don't want are Cap and Spidey. Sufice it to say, I've pre-ordered the wave. I'm all for classic costumes, and I see the potential to use this to correct some of the fig oversights and omissions throughout the years. |
