I love those Marvel headphones! I have the Spider-Man ones, surprise-surprise. I just wish the sound quality was abit better on em, but I still use em every once in awhile.

I think it's impatient people who have plenty of money they don't care about. Either they have no bills or they just make so much money they don't give a shit how they spend it. You don't make/keep wealth that way.

Yeah, thats the way I kinda of viewed it as well, although as marvel 3 3/4 scale is all I collect, sometimes I justify spending a little more, but I dont think I have EVER paid over 30$ a figure...and the only 3 3/4 figure I can recall I paid 30$ for was the SHS Thor MOC...lot of good that did me, as I still have it on card...cant bring myself to open it...

Thank you for the trade and for letting me open it before sending! I can't bring myself to open mine, so it was nice to actually feel it in hand.

Been wanting one of those for a while too but didn't want to pay the crazy prices for the whole 3-pack. Now I have enough hall of armor bases to display the movie armor nicely.

Oddly enough, I found myself looking at the light Tron light cycle today at TRU. Was wondering if Iron Man's Torn armor would fit in it lol.

I don't mind paying a high price for figures that are truly rare and likely will never be reproduced. Some of the stuff I see is just too much though. The price on a lot of the Legends is crazy. I was thinking about getting a single release ML Apocalypse cause he is a bit bigger and I prefer him that way. The local shop that has him wants $100 so he will likely sit there unsold until they go out of business. I mean, that is higher than ebay. All their ML stuff is either top ebay or higher than prices.

What LCS's dont realize sometimes is that things are worth what someone will pay for it...

Most times I see something like that I will call it out, like "hey guys that doesnt even go for 100$ on ebay...check it out, i'd pay going rate of about 25-35$ for it tops..."

Sometimes the light will go off, and you will get what you want, for a reasonable price...but most times they just act like you are trying to rip them off...ha ha ha, their loss I guess...

That's usually the case. Sadly, the stereotype of condescending and unhelpful comic shop worker is very much based in reality. I've been to some shops with friendly and helpful staff but usually they are the ones that don't sell collectables and pretty much just sell comics/manga/etc. I guess the shop owners feel they need 1000% mark up to survive but if it doesn't sell then what's the point? If you don't know you market and what will get stuff to sell fast then you shouldn't be in business. It's better to get $30 for an item you paid $20 than to not sell it. Even if the item goes for $50-$60 on the open market. For every item you under sell it will even out with people coming back remembering that good deal they got. No one goes shopping wanting to buy at the store with the highest price.

Iceman youre right on...common sense, and a little business acumen would do a LOT for these LCS guys...

But I digress...I am a little pissed my LCS's dont really dabble in older collectibles/toys...they do get the new waves of toys in, but dont stock, or stay consistent with older stuff...I am trying to talk them into letting me start something up...

Alchemist559 08-05-2012 07:38 PM

When I go back to visit my in laws this week in Cali, I am going to hit up this toy store to see if they are willing to budge on a complete BAF black Apocalypse that has been sitting there for at least a year. They want 90$ what is a reasonable counter offer?

LORD MARVEL 08-05-2012 07:39 PM

i think people pay more so they dont have to go store to store looking for that item. I work 7 days one week and 6 the following week... But i still hunt regardless. I pay double sometimes triple for items if i really want it. Off topic i pay $200 or more for a pair of $150 Jordans online.. reason is i dont wanna wait 10 hours in line with about 300 sneakerheads for them or when its my turn to get em they sold out on my size....anyhow I payed $75 for loose Vision..rare never saw at retail.Payed $40 for metal Absorbing man..never saw at retail.Sometimes we gotta pay to play... just my two gold coins

shortysben 08-05-2012 07:40 PM

I would say 65$, seeing as how the regular one usually get s 35-55$...if its been there for over a year, they should accept, if not, like I said before THEIR LOSS!

I haven't ever really seen the BAF, but if you explain to them that it'll just sit there and nobody will probably even notice it, you might be able to shake them down to at least like 70.. if they say no, walk away and maybe look at some other stuff.. maybe find something else you want, and say if you buy the other item + the BAF then cut a deal?

I've never negotiated outside a flea market, so I might not be giving any good advice.

Alchemist559 08-05-2012 07:50 PM

I used to get good shit there all the time, black Ms Marvel for $10, stealth iron man for 8, other gems too, that is the only one that I wanted that was at a crazy price.
