You know, when I was younger I was more critical on movies. But as I became smarter, I began to develop a more diverse sense of humor and was able to watch bad movies and make fun of it. A perfect way to enjoy bad movies is to buy the Rifftrax stuff, Twilight series became a yearly treat, not because it was good, but how hilariously bad it is.

Like the Keaton Batman's were fantastic, the Kilmer and Clooney Batman's were hilariously bad, yet very enjoyable. They are never boring and constantly kept a good pace.

I enjoyed then Affleck Batman immensely. My fav Batman will ALWAYS be Adam West and I LOVE Burn Ward's Dick Grayson Robin. It has to do the era you grew up with in terms of media and exposure to the Batman. Keaton was better and so was Affleck, but Adam West and Burt Ward will forever be how I want Batman and Robin to be and will always imagine them as those two.

This should probably be the last post regarding DC stuff here (for a while anyway) but you're not wrong that media interpretations of Bane tend to accentuate his reliance on drugs. The idea of the character representing drug addiction is significant but often in short-term media like video games, cartoons, and movies they don't bother showing the part where Bane eventually improves himself by facing his addiction and overcoming it. There's also the part where writers find it easier or more comfortable to just toss Bane into the dumb strong guy trope so you wind up with many versions of the character that are stupid, scrawny guys who do drugs to turn into beefed up roid-monsters. Dr Kain wasn't wrong when he noted that Bane was introduced as a gimmick, it was DC saying "hey everybody look at this new character who just beat the crap out of Batman!" but when you get past that I think there have been some great nuggets that validate Bane's continued existence in the comics and his position as one of Batman's more prominent villains.

What'd they call batman and robin after getting run over by a steamroller ............?

Awesome yeah I was really into Dc For awhile and only just recently like within 3-5 years got into Marvel. But I did understand that Black Panther was one of the more Badass Characters. And That would be awesome if it was true cuz the More MCU figures the merrier


I am right there with you on this one! I loved Thor 1. It was a more darker Mcu film which isn't Bad I sometimes like that better but hell You're talking to a guy who actually really enjoyed Iron man 2 lol.

That was my first exposure to live action Batman. Was that Series. Granted I wasn't alive when it came out but my dad showed me it when I was around 6 or 7 that was a long time ago now lol. so they hold a special place

I totally agree with everything you said. I really loved the first Thor and for a while it was my favorite of the MCU movies.

Honestly, there's 16 MCU movies at this point with Thor 3 being the 17th. I don't care if they are the greatest movie ever, I just want them to be entertaining, fun, and respects the source material. It's like James Bond. The only bad Bond movie at this point is a boring one. The time to care if the movie outdoes its predecessor is over. If it does, great, if not, oh well. Again, just don't bore me.

Also, think about this...King Odin conquers his enemy, then raises his enemies son as his own...come on. And I’ll never forget this line at the end of the film from Thor, “there will never be another King as wise as you”. This after calling his father an “old fool” in the first act. Goodness I love that film.

And remember all film is subjective. If you love Iron Man 2, that’s cool. Shout it to the world, my friend.

I loved im2..... Debut of WAR MACHINE! I much prefer cheadle as he had a lotta personality and tude needed for jim. Granted i think terrance looked more like jim in the comics but he constantly sounds like his nuts are in a vice...even when he tries to be tough hes squeaky. Just a bit too affimemate for a role like War Macine ( who really needs his own movie... As does Hawkeye ).

Couldn't agree more don cheadle is War machine. Howard to me just plays the same character in everything he's ever done. All the main avengers need at least one solo movie
But I'd personally rather have a Black Widow solo film before those two. They might Do a Netflix solo Series with both Hawkeyes and black widow

YAZZZZZ!!..So many people beat this movie up but i liked it a LOT!! and although i HATED when i first heard they were using Affleck,...i was like...WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY??!?!?!?!
In the end....I liked him in that role quite a bit.

You are not alone. The first Thor movie is still one of my favorite MCU movies. The only weak link is Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. I would like to see Jane Foster recast. I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to find a good replacement since she doesn't have particularly distinct features and she's a mediocre actress.


The first Thor movie really got me into reading Thor comics too and a lot of them are really great. I especially love Jason Aaron's stuff.

^ Wut? IMO one of Natalie Portman's best performances was in the first Thor... I thought she was great and funny in that movie, but yah... she kinda sux in everything else not called The Professional.

I really like the first Thor though... Kenneth Branagh did a good job.

Ben Affleck is indeed my favorite onscreen Batman. I just think Kain said it earlier, but I will echo buying him as a martial artis who will make your life a living hell if you cross him. He’s Bruce Wayne right out of the comics. The man is simply imposing. He has done great as The Dark Knight in his two appearances.

funny thing...as much as i like liked The Dark Knight...i never LOVED Bale in that role.

Bale was not nearly as good a Bruce Wayne as he was Batman. Ben pulls off the playboy billionaire quite well. The jury is still out on Batman until his solo film drops, IMO. The villain choices are going to make or break that movie.

I love both Thor 1 & IM 2! Thought Justin Hammer was funny as heck too. "I'd like to point out the pilot survived". Seeing IM & WM throwing down with the Hammer drones was awesome!

IMO, all the MCU movies have ranged from good, very good to damn great. I look forward to Thor 3 & BP with great anticipation.

Yes!!! I was beyond thrilled when he came back for “All Hail the King”. To see where he ended up, “not here baby”, was hilarious.

I’ve enjoyed each of the movies so far. I still think The Avengers is arguably the greatest comic book film of all time, rivaled by The Dark Knight.

I can't rank the movies too much goodness. I do know The Winter Soldier is my favorite and while I haven't seen Homecoming yet....I have it on preorder...I'm sure it will be great. I don't think there's a legitimately bad one they've done yet, some just average IMO like Iron Man 3, Thor 1 and 2, and Ant-Man...but it's too hard to rank them all anymore.

As far as favorite superhero movies go it's pretty tough. Ironically films from four franchises make up my top 4....The Winter Soldier, Days Of Future Past, The Dark Knight and Wonder Woman (the only DCU movie I've seen that I liked and I thought it was incredible.) Really tough to pick my absolutely favorite of those...
