Thanks. Have there been any reviews for that one yet? I only see pictures of people with Black Widow. I've yet to see any actual in hand pictures of anyone else (despite people clearly having bought Spidey and Wolverine).

Looks miles better than the MJ head, that's for sure.

I definitely prefer the Jean head - although the hair could do with being a little more red. The head does sit noticeably a bit higher on the neck too. From some angles, espeically if she's looking up, it can look a bit wrong.

I'm wondering if the now redundant MJ/Widow hair might do for Tabby... maybe save me tracking down another Hope. I'm failing to convince myself so far.

Edit: Actually, that final shot looks all sorts of broken neck wrong... I'll have to pose her carefully.

Loving all the Vintage Widow appreciation!! Going to go out tomorrow and see if I can find her out in the wild.:thumbs

Guys not a professional reviewer but it's a first look:

From what I've read over on Fwoosh, there's a street date on these (Nov. 1, I think) so wouldn't expect to see any reviews from Jay C or whomever you like just yet. I decided to go out looking for these today along with the Hydra 2 pack and couldn't find anything.

I saw cap, iron man, punisher and spider man tonight. Only bought the punisher, but may go back for cap later.

I wanted punisher just because he is a slight different style to the skull and the all white belt and pouches. I know they are the same heads as the Walgreens exclusive figure but I like the red headband with 5 o'clock shadow and the older Frank head clean shaven. By taking the rings from around the eyes and the stubble away it really gives a different look to the same sculpt. I really want to make a "Nam" Frank Castle with the red headband version.

^ Oh wow... I thought it was a straight up repack except for the headband and minus the harness... thanx for the pix. I never saw the first one at Walgreens, so was gonna pick up the new one anyway, but now I really, really want it. LOL. Sux he don't come with the M60 though, but I do like the vintage skull eyes and white pouches.

Also... in 8th grade woodshop I made the Punisher skull for my wall clock assignment, so yah. LOL.

I should be able to check that out and report back with pictures. Might be tomorrow at this point though, as I'm expecting visitors soon. Rock Band and homemade cheesecake ftw!

Can anyone comfirm that vintage card Spidey is the same spidey from the phil urich hobgoblin wave ? If it is, i just might hop on him, because i was never able to grab a double of the first release.

Yeah, it's Pizza Spidey with brighter colors

Dr Kain 10-14-2017 07:38 AM

Also a different spider emblem (still trying to figure out which artist) and missing all of the hands. Can the hands of the regular Pizza Spidey be used on this vintage one?

Wow, he is so tiny. Maybe I don't want him after all.

For any interested, the TRU barcode for the Hydra set is 29-8221.

For the KC area, nothing at Olathe or 95th. The manager at 95th told me their warehouse has 380 in stock and he even made a space but they have not been sent to them yet.

I prefer everything from the Walgreens version except for of course the hands. I just really like it being the classic costume but with a slightly more grounded touch with the belt not being all white and the developing stubble like he's been too busy to touch up on that. If Hasbro hadn't screwed us over with the hands it would probably be an absolute favorite figure but as is his display options are extremely limited to me.

Pizza spidey was a figure based on humberto ramos art. Was never super crazy about art.

Oh really, show me the comics that show this bare skin effect?

The Torch should be the same damn flame color every time he flames on. Stop making excuses for a error on Habsros part. All they had to do was make the figure based on this statue and we would have had the best version of the Torch in 6' scale.

I would say probably not. The hand on the left is from the Pizza Spidey and the hand on the right is from the Spidey/MJ 2 pack. The peg style changed to the one on the right starting with the Ben Reilly Spiderman and it's remained this way ever since. Even the SDCC version couldn't use the alternate hands from Pizza Spidey due to the peg style changing.

Agreed on the torch and Hasbro's bad execution. I am surprised someone at Hasbro never approached fans about the look of the torch. Sometimes I think Hasbro only has 1 guys designing the toys rather than a group, because someone would catch the Punisher for example, not having trigger fingers.

But I do really dislike that Bucky Cap Body they used. I would have loved to see the new 2099 Spidey Body used instead. Such a shame, but my Toy Biz Torch's look better any way.

I an Just not a fan of the overused Spidey Head Sculpt. I am more of a Romita/Campbell Guy and it feels as if Hasbro is cheapening out with the reusing of the Pizza Spidey everything, especially the mask sculpted eyes.

I'm talking about the figure, not the comics. None of the art you posted has the defined gloves, boots, or belt, either.

No one is twisting your arm to buy the newer Torch, anyway. So what's your issue?

redfox 10-14-2017 02:22 PM

Went through 4 Walgreen's, but I finally found the Vintage Black Widow. The first three stores didn't have any of the Vintage wave, but the last on my stop had one lone Widow and Iron Man. Both were lying flat on an overhead near the toy section. I almost left the store empty handed. As I was leaving the aisle, I noticed a bit of the packaging art peeking over the edge of the overhead shelf. Glad to finally have Widow in-hand.:D

That is a different launcher too

TheBlueMarvel 10-14-2017 03:21 PM

I like the new Human Torch figure. BB's right, when you google Johnny, this current fig's design is the most consistent look for the character. If I had to go with a classic artist who has sort of coined this look, I'd say Alan Davis. It's Torch's "modern-classic" look. He has far more control over his flame now. Not to mention, greater amounts of top-end power (Nova Flame - I hope we see a variant soon).

I understand classic enthusiasts wanting a "raw-flame" effect, but I'm also ok with this, for now. I expect more FF figs. My only gripe is that Johnny and Peter have similar builds, the figure is too large IMO. Maybe Hasbro could have used the Speed-Demon/Electro/Iron-Fist mold?

I cannot understand the same price for less accessories and paint. I will buy it at some point I feel....but will not be something I prioritize I feel. It's almost that wonderful shopping season again.....where I try to stick it to people by saying Merry Christmas and I will be more jolly as I spend like wild fire.

Are these Vintage figures on pegs, or standing?
