The X-men box set you are thinking of was Legends/6" scale.

He spends $60,000 and comes home with nothing to show for it. You can spend the same $60,000 and not be able to move around in your house anymore, AND, you can always sell it and make your money back. You might point that out to him.

What did he say exactly? Was it that it's a waste of money? You know what else is a waste of money by that same logic? TVs and DVD players. Like, sure, in terms of entertainment, they're pretty longterm investments, but in terms of just being practical, you could logically live without watching a movie.

You know, it occurs to me that most arguments against something like toy collecting or video games tend to break down when you change what they're about.

I really regret never picking up that Flynn Light Cycle.

But yah, I miss MU too. I went to a local toy show today and someone was getting out of MU looks like... I guess Legends is too tempting nowadays... can't blame them really. I'm glad though because I was able to get some figs I've been looking for.

Got Mystique, Punk Storm, regular Storm, Multiple Man, Jubilee, purple Magneto, orange Secret Wars Magneto, Captain Britain, Omega Red, Longshot, Colossus, and Elektra all for a few bucks each.

Now the only 3.75" mutant that I still really want, but don't have yet is regular Night Crawler.

Sick will! What’s the recipe for that snipes blade?

It's a pretty simple recipe,I made with a movie nick fury body with sculpted chest and a sculpted epoxy head. Nothing too fancy

Bless him! (sorry my Hiss Tank persona is taking control, ahem)

What do we want? What huge toy can give to others DePriest mentioned; G.I.Joe, Transformers, Marvel.
What I loved with the 3.75 heroes was that you could:
-have a lot of them in a confined space
-mix them with Joe vehicles and Skateboard Parks for nice dios
-have almost in-scale fights with decent sized Galactus, Sentinels, Ice Giants and some 6inch BaF like Mojo, Modok, and Apocalypse.

So big things are not limited to an Helicarrier. We could have a nice big Living Monolith or Master Mold, even the giant invader guy from F4 who used to writer his threats with a giant laser in the desert, I forgot his name... gigantic foes are legions!

As for the big things, I can think of many on a whim: Doom Castle, Baxter Building, Room of Dangers!

I just have one hope: that this program doesn't limit itself to residents in the US. I'm sure a lot of foreign fans would be happy to suscribe this kind of service.

The inherent problem with this is that most of our motivation to collect something begins in the same media you are suggesting we shun, therefore you defeat your own argument.

If you don't watch TV or Movies, you don't learn about the characters or toys of them. You might know them from comics, but would miss the advertising for the toys. Without that connection, you never become a collector of the toys. Call it a necessary evil, you have to have that media connection to set the collecting in motion. After that, it becomes self sustaining.

Trust me, it does.

Oh, okay. I think we're a bit mixed up here. My metaphor was about how a TV is technically a commodity for personal entertainment, but that's seen as okay, but if you were to spend the amount of a TV costs on a ton of figures(over time, granted), that's seen as a waste of money.

It's like people calling let's plays dumb because you're watching someone else play a game, but then they'll turn on the TV and watch a football game. It's basically the same principle, but one is more socially acceptable than the other for some reason.

Ha it would be a miracle if it were bigger!
I hope someone at Hasbro realizes that by just adding the VTOL engines they could convert it into a Helicarrier.
I also wouldn't mind this version...

Let's pray for that big miracle. Also hope that Derryl DePriest will look back at the "Extendable" Super Helicarrier of 2012. This can show him how to make a far bigger Flagg / Broadside / Helicarrier.

HasLab can then sell optional "Extendable" deck sections. Extending it from 7 ft to 9 ft, 11 ft, and so on. If DePriest can find and resurrect a mint Cobra Missile Command from 1982, then finding an "Extendable" Helicarrier from 2012, may also inspire him to resurrect more bigger better toys.

Yeah it was at my desk in a previous job. I got flack from time to time from 1 or 2 coworkers but nothing mean spirited. Most of the time, people would visit the cubicle to see how glorious my collection was and take pictures lol. I’d always order stuff online and have it delivered right to my desk. Nowadays, everything is bagged up and sealed individually and in storage containers at my home office .

PS tell your brother in law to kick rocks lol

Yup, it sounds like a MU Master Mechanic's labor of love.

End result: Masterpiece!

Here’s my take on Thanos. I usually end up pulling elements I like from various versions of characters, and Thanos is no exception. I took his bald and sleeveless look from Infinity War and his armored look from GOTG and tried to mate it with the comic version. Parts are from Armored Hulk, Maestro, and Thanos.
