I have seen Batman Beyond twice, but was with my wife and she flips if I buy toys.

I haven't seen anything either. I've tried two Wal-Marts and two Targets and nadda.

And it wouldn't kill them to at least make some 3.75 figures along the lines of MoS Superman and Zod. They're not perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than nothing.

Same here so far but I figured. Found most multiverse a month after most others on here so im ok for now

wow that movie looks really good!, I looked at the box and assumed it was going to be really dumbed down for children, like the short lived "Batman Brave and the Bold" series.

snake5289 07-21-2015 05:30 PM

Brave and the Bold lasted 3 seasons and was amazing.

kylactus 07-21-2015 06:36 PM

I always found it to be very "70's kid friendly cartoony" it was cool, but I'm more of a fan of the dark knight returns, and the recent JL animated movies.

Ninjinister 07-21-2015 06:51 PM

Brave and the Bold kicked all sorts of ass. Obscure characters, team ups out the ass, cameos, meta and lore jokes... probably the best thing Batman's name has been attached to in the last decade. There was also a LOT of adult humor so it wasn't dumbed down for kids in the slightest.

snake5289 07-21-2015 07:17 PM

It also had some of the most heartwarming moments in any cartoon. Then ending speech from Batman in the last episode had me tearing up. And holy crap the references. It was a love letter to the Silver Age of comics. Hence the "70's kid friendly cartoony" look.

Oh and let's not forget the best Aquaman ever. OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!

Kernel 07-21-2015 07:31 PM

I agree, Brave and the Bold was OUTRAGEOUS! One of my favorite moments all time was when Trevor flies off in the arms of wonder woman and batman mutters to himself "what does she see in that man?" I've thought that many times lol (very end of the clip).

kylactus 07-21-2015 07:34 PM

OK ok let me rephrase! It was a fun show, it had adult humor at the level Toy Story, good family fun and all, but I'm more of a fan of in depth story lines and a less stylized animation style. I just don't really like episodes where ten or so Heroes and villains all have race cars styled after themselves and they have to do a wacky race an some strange planet. I just prefer detective, bank robber ass kicking, slightly realistic Bat Man to "lets go to the other side of the universe to team up with Green Lantern and stop a cosmic threat" Bat Man. for me it was the "Marvel Team Up" of cartoons, fun, cool for what it was, but not my idea of batman.

snake5289 07-21-2015 07:50 PM

Fair enough. I think it would have been a slightly more fun show if it was different heroes teaming up instead of Batman and *insert DC hero here* all the time but "it's the freaking Bat" to quote the random thugs in the Arkham games. IMO it's right up there with the Timmverse.

Speaking of the Arkham series I really hope the rumors are true and the next game is a Superman game. I'd be glued to my Xbox for at least a week.

I love that bit too. The Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman team-up episode was great.

check out the creepy shot of steve checking out WW at 2min 2 sec. It gave me chills....

You gotta watch the episode "legends of the dark mite" as it talks about exactly what you are saying lol. I couldn't find a decent clip but here is the jist:

I really appreciated the show as my son was a toddler when it was on and we could watch it together and both be entertained. Also it segued into beware the batman (also a show that just got better and better). I was watching avengers assemble cartoon last night and I thought it was hilarious that nighthawk (marvels allegory to batman) was voiced by the same guy in beware the batman! All these little Easter eggs make these shows very enjoyable lol.

It's such a shame that Beware the Batman never stood a chance. Those last few episodes were really intense.

I'm with ya. No one today has the patience (or the perhaps the right recipe, or exposure) to put out a long running Batman or JL cartoon that lasted as long as "Batman, The Animated Series." Too bad, because I believe the long running nature of a series can have a lasting return in toy sales.

Kernel 07-21-2015 09:05 PM

^ Young Justice was good too.. the toys not so much. It's too bad they cancel all these shows so quick. I liked BTAS but batman's jaw always bothered me... it was a perfect square you could cut glass with it lol.

that does actually look good.. I'll have to watch that. Sometimes we watch the free cartoons that come with the Imaginext toys and my bro in laws girlfriend was saying they are done by Russian cartoonists.

Nighthawk was Beware the Batman's Batman
Hyperion was Ultraman in Crisis on Two Earths
Speed Demon was Kid Flash on Young Justice and Flash in JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time
Dr. Spectrum was John Stewart on Justice League

I think Zarda is the only one of the team who wasn't voiced by a DC equivalent of the character (although she was in Superhero Squad).

Currently painting a MoS Superman to make Bizarro. I'll post pics when/if I finish. So far so good though. I also picked up one of those cheap IM3 figures to try my hand at Metallo. And I'm going to repaint my IM2 Hulkbuster to make a proper Lex Luthor in his battlesuit. Should be a busy next few days but Superman needs more villains than just Zod and Doomsday. If only I could find a good substitute for Brainiac, Parasite, and Livewire.

I use the Dragon Helicopter from the Pursuit of Cobra line for Arkham Knight's copter. The red and black go great with AK himself.

I also found Deathstroke at a Meijers! No Batman 66 or Beyond, but Deathstroke is who I wanted.
