Worst figure of the year? That's a tough one. It's been a really good year quality wise. I could point over the overabundance of Star Lord figures (3 in back to back waves or two packs) or the absurd scarcity of the Walmart Black Panther figure...but that doesn't mean those figures are bad.

I think I have to go with Thor wave Odinson. He's quite derpy.

Major Victory, Spider-UK and Ex Nihilo, while rather boring IMO, are figures that have places in some people's collections, and aren't bad figures on the face of it (using tried-and-true molds and having decent enough decos). I'll also agree that there's nothing compelling about the Young' Thor Odinson figure (especially when compared to Unworthy Odinson from the SDCC set).

My personal pick is the A-Force She-Hulk. A She-Hulk update could've been great, but this figure just has the wrong proportions all the way around. Legs, forearms, head, all needed some resizing to make a more cohesive figure. The worst part is that she's not bad, per se, she's just a letdown.

But other than that, generally, it's been a good year. Either that, or our selectivity has kept us away from the stinkers :D

...Yeah, there's very little wrong with the Kamala figure. Sure, she suffers a little bit of articulation hampering due to her skirt, and she could use at least some swivel-wrists for her alternate arms, but other than that, she's a great use of the Teen Girl mold, which is a decent mold to begin with. So this makes no sense (aside from personal character preference, but that doesn't make it a 'worst figure' thing, does it?)

..."dumber and dumber characters" translates to "characters I don't have an interest in and therefore are lame and a waste because my opinion is the one that matters," right?

I mean, I don't give two craps about Ex Nihilo, but that doesn't make him a "dumb" character, or a "dumb" choice. Just one targeted towards someone other than me.

Suddenly, things make a bit more sense :D

Yeah, you're right, Yellow bare footed horn guy will be the new Thanos of the MU & will still be prevalent 5-10 yrs from now. And only reason the Indian Ms Marvel got made is the BS PC agenda that Marvel writers got on during the Obozo 8yr reign. Crap character, crap figure IMO.

I'm obviously not gonna change your opinion and I have no desire to get into a flame war, but other humans exist besides 6 feet tall white men and women, and sometimes, just sometimes, it's nice to read a story or two about those other people!!!

Bearjew 10-23-2017 11:45 AM

Disregard, I just realized that this looks like a tiny battle among some people and I have no desire to get involved.

Far be it from me to argue with the guy who doesn't know India and Pakistan aren't the same country. Now excuse me, I have to go pick up my package from New Jersey, Canada.

To be quite honest, I could give 2 poops what country she is from, I don't give a poop about this character, so never bothered to read what her country of origin is. So that you assumed I don't know the difference between these 2 countries is just assumption on your part.

Odinson and sdcc odinson both suffer from arms not being fully inserted into the body...though young thor shoulda had a different head than sentry. Ish there was a way to fix the arm issue as it really hurts the stability of the arms.

None of this makes any sense to anything I said, soooo... Ignored and moving on. Have a good one, ya goofy goober! :D

Also, you're bringing politics in, which is a no-no, so scale that shiz back, m'boyo.

Can they be removed and reinserted?

My apologies. You go on so many tirades about these damn women folk and minorities that I kinda just assumed you were Archie Bunker at this point.

I've wanted the Morrison era Wolverine forever.

Oi, for what it's worth, this is a discussion about action figures. If you don't like a figure, so be it. If you know nothing about a character because you have never read anything about them, but you feel the need to bash them because they are different, maybe you should think twice before posting stuff. I'm not saying I have been personally offended, but there are some posts that are questionable at best. I'm not a moderator or anything, but the mods have threatened to shut down this discussion in the past. Please, don't ruin the fun for others.

Back to the discussion at hand, my least favorite figure this year might be Ex Nihilo. He was a fun character, but the figure seemed a bit lack luster to me.

The problem is that the peg hole is too small to allow the arms to be fully inserted. This due to the outer ring of the arm peg being too large and thus sitting up against the arm socket. Sadly since the arms arm rather tight the arm peg breaks if tried to move up and down. So far I haven't figured out how to do it.

My Jane Foster Thor from that SDCC set also had her arm out of socket. Heating it up and pushing it deeper in fixed her right up. Sorry, no way to explain fixing it without it sounding like that!

I had to do that with my normal fosthor but it didnt work with thor. From what could see the part of the peg closest to the shoulder is too big to actually fit into the socket fully...like the arms arent the right ones for the socket.

You hit the nail on the head! Marvel is feeling it in their pockets currently though. DC is killing it with their metal series and current lineup of titles.

Not to continue this argument on much longer, but that is not the reason Marvel is failing. It's due to a couple of things, but that is not one of them.

Yet you just did... i merely agreed with parademon. I didn't nor wasn't part of any arguement. Hell i haven't even commented since yesterday prior tp the comment you quoted above.

Im about 100% sure it that is the reason. If you want links i can provide from numerous sites.

I was watching Spiderman Homecoming last night and had a thought about the ML Spiderman Homecoming 2 pack. In the movie, Spiderman is running through some backyards before he stumbles, falls, and we see the shutter effect for the lenses on his mask have started to glitch when he sits up. A minute or two later he gets saved by Tony who is remotely piloting the Iron Man armor. The ML 2 pack comes with an empty Iron Man helmet which references that particular scene and I'm wondering if the masked Spiderman head is referencing the scene in the backyard. The right eye on the masked head has a "dent" in it that we've all assumed is molding error but what if the eye was painted wrong? I'm thinking that the black paint should've gone all the way to the edge of the "dent" so that he's squinting with his right eye to represent the glitch in the mask. I can kinda make out some lines in the white area that look like they could be part of the shutter effect but I'm not certain. For anyone who has this two pack, what do you think? Can you see anything similar on your figure?

Panther 10-23-2017 09:06 PM

Trying something different with my MCU collection. As opposed to displaying them by Phase, I decided to take the latest version of each figure and prepare them for Infinity War.

I am going to hook up the comic figures in the next couple of days.

I think the easier explanation for that is that it was intended to be a normal squinting-with-one-eye expression (like with some forms of surprise or disbelief), rather than replicating a very specific scene from the movie. Regardless, I do wish Hasbro had painted it how it should have been instead of just painting over the smaller eye to make both eyes even.
