I was watching Spiderman Homecoming last night and had a thought about the ML Spiderman Homecoming 2 pack. In the movie, Spiderman is running through some backyards before he stumbles, falls, and we see the shutter effect for the lenses on his mask have started to glitch when he sits up. A minute or two later he gets saved by Tony who is remotely piloting the Iron Man armor. The ML 2 pack comes with an empty Iron Man helmet which references that particular scene and I'm wondering if the masked Spiderman head is referencing the scene in the backyard. The right eye on the masked head has a "dent" in it that we've all assumed is molding error but what if the eye was painted wrong? I'm thinking that the black paint should've gone all the way to the edge of the "dent" so that he's squinting with his right eye to represent the glitch in the mask. I can kinda make out some lines in the white area that look like they could be part of the shutter effect but I'm not certain. For anyone who has this two pack, what do you think? Can you see anything similar on your figure?

Could be! I don't own the pack but I have seen it every time I have gone to my local TRU.

I am going to hook up the comic figures in the next couple of days.

Looks great!

I need a bigger picture. That could be anything lol. I know they did one in the 3&3/4" scale.

Thanks @Spyne98.

I took a little inspiration from the Infinity War Comic Con poster as far as figure placement. My biggest thing now is going to be my comics display, because I’m about to hook that up. Looking at all of them in my storage case makes me want Mr. Fantastic and The Thing ASAP. But my biggest question is will The Thing have shorts or pants. Lol

Again, where are you getting these?

https://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Legend...=marvel+legend

Best deal I have seen on the Phoenix/Cyclops pack since it came out. It is only a $5 markup above tax.

My pleasure! I'm also wondering what that Thing is going to look like.
I want to have a dedicated display (I mostly just buy comic stuff) but I just don't have the room. It's usually in a constant state of what have I pick up recently being on display, which gets changed out every 4-6 months.

Im about 100% sure it that is the reason. If you want links i can provide from numerous sites.

Put those links up my man!

VashTS 10-24-2017 10:16 AM

Someone mentions sales, i need to give my 2 cents.

I'm was heavily involved in the financial industry and trends and data, and now and then talk to guys who are still there with similar interest.

I think we all know Marvel Comics currently is a disaster financially and more so story wise. I see people, rather hear people talking the big movie crash is coming. The high budgets cannot be sustained.

I find all the movies I've seen the past year lack individuality. All seem to use the same filter, the same musical acores, and just lazy cgi everywhere.

i went to walgrens to buy some batteries for someone. passed thru the toy isle just for the hell of it. i noticed they had like 5 human torches in the rite place. the last time i went, i found torch somewhere else and i asked the employee why they put the figures at a totally diff place and she said " its on the shelf plan for x-mas" so my point is that these employees dont know anything and that employee was wrong that day. she probably just said that to shut me up and they think we dont notice, i do. SMH.

No, she was correct.

Like most retailers, part of the shelf plan for Christmas at Walgreens is to get all of the toys in the store out on the sales floor. First by filling up the usual isle, then by filling up the designated overflow isle spaces, and after that using riser shelves above the isles for the remainder. There's also potentially endcaps and sidecaps that will be used to flex out even more toys. A local Walgreens near me has even started a display of toys near the front of the store.

So if you're shopping there just for Legends, you might find you'll have to look around a bit more than only just checking what you consider to be the "right place".

I hear that. I’m about to put all of my comic figures to great use. Fantastic 4, X-Men, Avengers, Spiderverse, Guardians of the Galaxy, Inhumans, and villains.

Speaking of villains...is the Marvel Select Phoenix stand a good fit for my Marvel Legends Phoenix? If so, are there any good ways to display the figure without it falling off...if possible?

Why are they so bad at fulfilling preorders?

I see I am not the only one to win the "TRU is Incapable of Fulfilling Pre-Orders Lottery". The sad part is they have to have at the very least a rough idea of how many cases they should be getting. If they have fulfillment issues from Hasbro then they need to take a conservative estimate of what they expect those to be and hard code a stock cap into their pre-ordering system that will not allow orders over that number until they can confirm actual stock. It's an exclusive and an army builder so it's not like they will have issues with another retailer getting their sales.
Shockingly difficult concept apparently...

This sort of thing is precisely why I groan every time I see the word "exclusive" attached to anything Hasbro puts out. The temptation to mail them a box full of my feces every time I see it is quite strong.

It might even just be the 3.75 inch one they recently released.

VashTS 10-24-2017 04:13 PM

Love talking finances and maybe that is what is wrong with the Hydra 2 pack.

I am guessing, part of the problem with the Hydra 2 pk might have to do with TRU themselves as I think TRU owes them 60 million dollars. Maybe this is on a short order.

I spoke with someone I know on the east coast who works in a TRU, and that Hydra 2 came with a weird designation in terms of distribution in the store. Essentially 0 orders for the store are expected to come. I think this person is wrong, but he/she has been in the biz for a while.

Very strange that TRU cancelled orders so fast and claimed it was oos. Reminds me of the X-Men Storm debacle a few years ago.

jwyss234 10-24-2017 04:29 PM

According to the articles I read when it came out that TRU was filing for bankruptcy, Hasbro was one of the few companies that wouldn’t cut their orders.

TRU exclusives are a bit weird. It’s like there is an initial drop that can’t meet the demand and then a few months later you usually find it without much trouble. That’s the way it happened for Groot, Commander Gree, the First Order Snowtrooper Officer, and the Hover Tank Pilot. Of course, I’m telling myself this right now since I’m still looking for the Movie Masterpiece Bumblebee.

While posting links to sales data wouldn't independently derail the thread I could almost guarantee that reactions one way or another eventually would. It's happened before and it'll probably happen again at some point, people seem to get pretty passionate 'round these parts. I am aware of the irony that by trying to keep this topic muted down I'm contributing to its continuation.

I'm not refering to you. So don't take it that way. Just had i posted certain links from some creditable comic sites and actual news sites. Not actual sales data because marvel never releases actual numbers, but more like articles of whats been going around with comic retailers, what was said during NYCC,and of course social media, and even what their sales director said months back but he was ordered to change that quote the following day. Then of course i'll hear the usual from SOME members that "im causing problems." So instead of engaging with these said members, i shared the links with Para.

If he chooses to share them or bring them up then so be it... the info is all over the net though. Some people choose not to believe it but that is definitely the reason...

And you're sure it wasn't just someone selling a custom? Because that's very common on Ebay. And while prototypes will pop up on Ebay it's rare that it's for figures we've never heard of until now.
