Happy birthday wolvie! I love hearing stories about significant others. My better half is quickly becoming a comic book nerd. We've seen just about every new Marvel movie (post-Iron Man) and have made the journey to SDCC the last few years. She recently got me a *secret* Hot Toys figure for Christmas...the box is in the closet...staring at me...and I can't open it for a few months, lol.

Not to encourage you but they do make Captain America purses too... just a thought for later...they are in the shape of a Shield. My GF saw them and said if/when we go to comic con thats what she is bringing lol

Yes I also remember that badass custom. The cape alone was superb on quasar.

Almost done. I'm going to finish him tonight. I'm back into customizing mode.

I was thinking the same thing but they're too big. It works for all black spidey from the sw comic pack but way too big for miles.

Woah! Thats awesome man. That custom SS reminds me of star wars unleashed figures with the cloak/cape is super posed. Very awesome indeed!!

Sort of. Not darth maul but a starwars jedi figure. I forgot who it was. It was in the fodder bin. I wanted the cloak to be flaired like that. I guess darth maul would work too but I didn't have him at my disposal.

Doubles are up for grabs, as well as BIg Time Spidey,

nice score. I know how that feels like. I feel guilty sometimes when I have a big week of hunting but happy to get figures I've been looking for.

gunzilla 08-09-2012 10:48 AM

I remember the cape was outstanding... but I can't remember who did the custom. It's in this thread somewhere.

i think we all hear that ;)

my GF knows when i'm at a computer i'm on the Ark

Phantasm88 08-09-2012 12:17 PM

Aww. Thanks guys. Nice to come home and see my Q-man back up here. Glad you all like him. I got the head I wanted for him in from Onyx, so I should have the final version of him done in a week or so. Appreciate all the love!

In other new. HUGE haul day.
Got the X-Factor set, plus She-hulk, rhino, and Magneto two-packs from TRU.
Gotta say I love these figures more than I thought I would. Not a lot of love shown for the X-Factor set, but I am totally digging it.
Especially happy with angel, she-hulk, mags, and iceman if you take his belt off. Very cool.

Scored an SDCC helicarrier and MoE back when that was happening too, but I've been traveling since then, so I haven't really had the time to post. Totally excited about setting up a new shelf with all the new scores. Baron is totally hot. Love that set.

My Radiation Man has a loose arm though, shaky at the left shoulder joint I think. Anyone know a fix for something like that?

Thanks guys! Y'all are great!

I'll give that a go just as soon as I nab a Bill, and as soon as someone builds me a K'lrt (or I break down and do it) ;)

SquirtleSquad7 08-09-2012 12:24 PM

That picture makes me really want a Galactus too.

Yup that Quasar is sooo dope. The cape alone is what really brings out the figure.

Alright, went home on my lunch break. I've been working on Kl'rt for about a week now and I'm still not done. I still have to do some touch up work and fix some of the paint spots. Then seal the paint. A question for the customizers, what do you use to seal the paint? I have a gloss finish but I want something more matte style. Is there a paint on style matte finish or just spray? I also used super glue in the joint areas to prevent paint rub. I'm also going to do some hot glue gun accessories when I get home from work but here is what I worked up for now.

Thing arms are removable

The hood is from the same star wars figure. Can't remember who.

I would use testors dullcoat. For leather type costumesi use the gloss. it sparys on. i do 2 coats. after first coat is dry i work the joints and do another coat. So far it's held up
